Leaving a car out in the dirt by the side of the road for 40 years is the opposite of "being loyal" to it.

I can. Happens all the time. Especially if it needs an engine. These cars were not looked on as anything special back then. It was just another used car needing major repairs an owner couldn't afford and didn't want to sell. The back roads of our country are loaded with vehicles just like this. Plus the more mundane ones like sedans and wagons.

So he bought the Cuda, loved and and still loves it so much that he has no problem leaving it on the side of the road to rot. Then the guy with all the cars for sale that have new crate engines, never started. And others that "run & drive" yet they sit out with no windows, open doors and no hoods. So the weather, rust and time can finish what he doesn't seem to have time for.

Great series - as a Londoner who visits the States regularly I love the cars featured in this programme and appreciate the respectful and knowledgeable way they are introduced and reviewed. Sad to see that Cuda left to rot. I don’t care if it’s his car and his money, he still shouldn’t have left something like that to rot in his front yard. He could have stuffed it in his garage or have it sent to a shop to fix whatever problems that might have happened at the time. It makes me sad to an extent that people will leave cars they “love” to rot where neither they or others can love them.

It's shame many cars are left to rot away in yards. Unfortunately many people don't have the resources to give a vehicle proper shelter out of the elements. I pray that if it were me I would sell long before it falls into such horrible state of condition.

@5:50 on during first visit, you dropped the ball!! There were some older antique cars that you didn't cover, not to mention the newer ones near them!! Don't just cover muscle and sports cars !! Those large headlight cars are scarce. Help preserve them and history! Show em and educate us on them before they are gone or are laid up in the next person's garage till....?
    Thanks!

Car lovers, I don't think so, just hoarders what a waste. So many restorations started and just not finished, don't start what you can't finish.

I agree ! 25 years ago I came across a 68 SS Chevelle , a Baldwin Motion SS ! At that time it was sitting out under a tree with a locked up 427 , installed by Baldwin Chevrolet in a new 68 SS . Couldn't be bought ! Still sitting there with privy hedge grown up , around and through it now . Another tear jerker .

You aren't the only one. I do it too. And not just for this show. I watch a lot of old auto related stuff and am constantly on Google Image looking at finished cars and the different interiors. My woman thinks I'm nuts but I find it fascinating. lol.

Tom, right on for using the Country Squire, as life is short, and not a lot of people have the balls like you drive all over with an old car! I love American Pickers, but never respected the fact that they go around the States buying vintage items made mostly in the States, but in a un-American van. Even though their Transit is made in Tennessee, its still not American.

I'm envy of you yanks that you have so many awesome cars sitting around, ready for their new owner. Here in UK we have nothing interesting to look at, especially after recent years' "scrap for cash" initiative, when people were given massive discount to buy a new car if they brought their old one along. Lots of good semi-classic cars were scrapped as a result, and driving prices for those who survived this purge.
    Mayhem.
