Really appreciate the first guy. Finally someone who actually wants his cars in the hands of the enthusiasts instead of saying he’ll “restore them eventually”. As always great video!
It looks like he's buying the cars faster than his mechanics can restore them, he probably doesn't need the money, just trying to save as many as possible, from the crusher
Chad Simmons I'm sure like he said some of the cars are purchased to help finish another cars restoration. That was a really neat collection, if I lived closer I'd def go over and try to find a car to fix up and enjoy.
If Hagerty Barn find got to 1 million subs, it's largely because of Tom Cotter. Period. I've known of Tom's pedigree from a story in Road & Track by Peter Egan when Tom purchased a 289 Cobra in California and asked Pete to ride shotgun cross country to his home. Epic. Tom and Peter are to me the definite car guys.
Wow! After cringing episode after episode watching cars which are rotting away waiting for their owners to restore them "someday", it is great to see someone who is actually saving these cars. Kudos.
This has to be the best episode of barn find hunter I've watched. Loved the professional approach both collectors had. I look forward to coming episode, but I think this one will be hard to eclipse.
Morgan Allen thanks, probably right.. my CRs, and lot of time in an around Atlanta....( I am from,Warsaw INDIANA and Studebakers get my attentions too. .....
I always get giddy whenever a new episode of Barn Finder is uploaded and I get to see old cars and trucks as well as the history behind the people who own them.
Finally a man, that really restores all the cars and doesn't just talk about it! The other guy was solid too. A great episode all in all, much better than watching classics rotting in to the ground. Congratulations on the milestone too.
My first car was a 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle Semi-automatic. I remember I was 17 in 1984, bought the car without test driving it. Paid $800. It was in a garage and I had the hardest time getting the car into reverse to back it out. I had it for a few years and got addicted to the beetles, I had 7 of them in total. I love this show and it brings back many memories of the many cars I have owned and have tried to own. Thank you Tom! Love the show and glad to see you are still out there hunting down cars amongst all the massive changes our world and country is experiencing. I especially love you never mention what is going on today in this show. You all at Hagerty let us relive some normalcy to the chaos ensuing us all. BRAVO!!!!!!!
Tom, you asked Dr. Jove what one he would have if all were figured in. I can answer that. It would be the station wagon you drive in this episode. What a beauty. Thanks for keeping such wonderful iron as yours viable and for ferreting out more for all us loyal enthusiasts to see.
The 1 million subcribers is all because of you Tom Cotter! All the knowledge you have and share with us viewers and also the way you can connect with every type of car owner/collector/hoarder. Thanks Tom!
Wow! Here's a man with a huge collection no one knows about . Of course now we do . He's truly devoted to what he's doing . You might say it's a passion . These cars need to be saved because it's an important part of the history of the automobile manufacturing in the United States as well as Germany and England . Thanks Doc for sharing all this . I'm glad I got to see it .
Wow. I have a tremendous respect and appreciation for the first guys saving / restoring, super guy. So nice these guys are willing to open their private collections, and share.
Thank you Dave. Doctor Maurice is a decent human being, because never once did he "talk down" to Tom, or us, for that matter. Dr. Maurice is an individual of accomplishment who knows that it is all of us who matters...
Remarkable. I hope the gentleman gets to see the appreciation from all over the world for his efforts to restore cars most would find too hard or expensive. An absolute exceptional collection and person
What an impressive man, came here as a child from Cuba and is a professional and personal success! Restores and cares for the cars, not the usual junk collector. Thanks for sharing your passion and collection!
Here’s your next T-shirt Hagerty. 8:12 “That’s all I do is this stuff, I don’t watch football, I don’t fish” Tom Cotter . I hear ya Tom. Love the Doc’s collection and that Speedster.... 🇦🇺🤙🏻
One of the best yet..... in the first clip, 2 guys from different backgrounds and the two of you were just geeking over the little things only car guys would know. The second gent was a high quality car guy as well. He was like a lot of us who love the blemishes and know what they represent.
Easily the best car program in whole web, imo. A HUGE thanks to the whole Hagerty crew and especially Tom for this magnificent show. Greetings from Russia!
Watched all of these great episodes of a fantastic series presented by my all time favourite car guy and have to say that in my opinion this episode was one of the best ever and the car owning Doctor deserves full respect for what he is achieving - saving cars and putting them back together unlike many who watch them just rust into the ground.
Thanks for an especially enjoyable episode! Dr. Holbay [I hope I spelled his name correctly] is an inspiration! The grandson of a diesel mechanic, his family came to America in 1961 when he was 6 years old, refugees from the communist takeover of Cuba. Rather than demanding a handout from the government, Doctor Holbay made his way through medical school and became a surgeon. No small feat! Did he stop there? No! Dr. Holbay became a dedicated and passionate collector of rare old cars! He puts such care and attention into restoring them! Most amazing of all, at an age when most men are slowing down the Doctor appears in the early morning hours, immaculatly dressed in suit and tie, ready to be interviewed. His excuse? "I have to go to work!" This man truly has lived the American dream!
This is the best of all restoration men I have ever seen in all of the Barn Find Hunter episodes.Absolutely briliiant. Total respect and appreciation .Of course this man is a surgeon.
Greetings Tom and the Hagerty crew fom Nairobi Kenya, we really enjoy the channel and the episodes. You have a big cult following in the classic car scene here in Nairobi Kenya you have inspired the classic community to unearth and rebuild our own classic gems thanks. Congrats on the 1m subs
Even when I was a little kid before I even started school I was fascinated by old cars and hot rods. I still remember running out of the hose to see a new Corvette driving down the street when I was four years old. In 1958 our neighbor was selling beauty shop supplies and he bought a brand new VW van for the business the first one most of us had ever seen.
Thank you thank you Doc ... you have restored my faith. I wish all guys that collected old barn finds could do what the Doc is doing. Thanks for sharing with us.
Never fails, every Barn Find Hunter video there is always someone saying this. Fact: Hagerty uploads a new Barn Find Hunter every first and third Wednesday of each month like clockwork.
I love that Dr, spending his money on restoring all those old cars! and might sell some that need doing but only if they are going to be restored!! He is bloody awesome, and the red and silver Speedster is amazing!!
way back in 1971 I had a seafoam green Rebel Machine 390 , 4 speed and i was not afraid to drive it hard ,i still get goose bumps when i see one or hear it run on line .i will never forget those times in that rocket,it was a beast
Nothing in the world I would rather do than to have your job.I love old cars more than anything! (all most). You are a very likeable and lucky guy. Keep it up man!
Congratulations on the million mark!! The best auto show on YT with it's mix of rare barn finds, Tom's wealth of info., meeting the owners and hearing their stories. The perfect combination that keeps us all glued to our seats and desperately waiting for the next great episode!
What a great couple of guys with some amazing cars and history. Cars that the rest of us dream of (356 Speedster obviously!) so it’s great to see them being enjoyed. Keep up the great work Tom, love your videos 👍 👍 👍
Impressive collections of cars. I am truly in awe knowing that there are people out there with this passion of collection cars. I loved looking at those cars, although rusty and old.
Congrats on a million subscribers Mr. Cotter....and many more... Out of all the car shows on youtube, I like the format on yours the most, keep it up....
Tom this was fantastic as always. But with the "current strangeness", you could made a month's worth of videos just with these 2 guys. Barn Find Hunter is far & away the best car show on YT. IMHO :-)
So many special cars and rare ones but the Marlins and that Stag are just gorgeous ! Lovely lovely collection. Oh my that Porsche is rare like that. Well done on the 1M
One of the best episodes ever, 60's mercedes are amazing, hand built well engineered, that surgeon is loosing money restoring these cars, and the VW guy is my kind of enthusiast keep it running keep it basic and enjoy it
I didn't think I was going to like the 1st owner of this collection at first. Man was I wrong! A great car guy! Two thumbs up! The 2nd guy was awesome as well!
Been following the programme for years now...so pleased you got the 1 milliion milestone...look forward to passing the 10 million, and I'll be there...Great Job Tom!!
Tom, congrats on the milestone of 1mil+ subscribers. I've been watching both your show and Davin's since they first came out and of course, I'm a long-time Hagerty insurance customer as well. The company just seems to do things right and I happily recommend it all to whoever asks. Quality is to be recognized, patronized and shared! Here's to the next decade of all of the above. -Ed on the Ridge
Car restoration god. Tackling those beautiful Benz's amongst the rest shows he has an incredible passion for saving vehicles most would not take on. I have a car with the same motor as the stag
If that single cab is a 68, it has had some major changes through its lifetime. Dash, doors and suspension. Love this show. I am a new subscriber, but have been watching for a long time. Maybe I put you over the one million mark!
This episode should have made in top 10... I mean I do think sometimes it is a waste to have cars just stored but good on the people that do this as it is a work of preservation! Epic episode!
Very nice. This guy seems like he really is going to restore his cars. So many of the barn find episodes involve collectors who just let their cars slowly return to dust and rust.
Congrats Man 👏 Your completely right, and you'll get to the 10Million mark, if you keep doing the same, Story and Storyline driven content about real salt of the earth kinda of folks. Personally, I'm just a coulda, woulda, shoulda car enthusiast kinda Guy. But with a happy wife of 23 years and three growing young men, I'm hoping one of these days I can get back to my first love, a Squarebody Chevy Truck or two. But until then I'll keep enjoying watching you and the great folks you interview.
10:20 love old mercs, my mum had one. Love the cars from where I live, England. Used to see Stags all the time. Jensen interceptors also when growing up......Amazing cars.
Awesome Video my favorite yet. The doc is a chill guy that's a example that people from a to z can love classic cars .would have love to seen what he had at his house good program tom.
Congrats to you all on the 1 million plaque! It was so great to see the Surgeon with his collection. Amazing passion, dedication, drive, commitment of both him and the gentleman with the Porsche/VW history. Nice looking BMW too! “My wife bought it new.” 🙂👍
Much respect for both of these gentlemen. Amazing to see one person with the passion, knowledge, and resources to properly restore preserve and save so many great cars. My generation grew up with many of these cars and has the same appreciation for them. My concern continues to be whether future generations will share that same passion.
Thank you for reaching out to these enthusiasts and thank you to those that allowed your collections to be shared with us! I live in the area you visited in the past few episodes and was so excited to see these great collections out here! How many more episodes are you planning on doing in North Georgia?
Really appreciate the first guy. Finally someone who actually wants his cars in the hands of the enthusiasts instead of saying he’ll “restore them eventually”.
As always great video!
yeah that guy was a total G..... I am sure he isn't making himself rich from restoring and selling, but he loves it
It looks like he's buying the cars faster than his mechanics can restore them, he probably doesn't need the money, just trying to save as many as possible, from the crusher
Chad Simmons I'm sure like he said some of the cars are purchased to help finish another cars restoration. That was a really neat collection, if I lived closer I'd def go over and try to find a car to fix up and enjoy.
Impressive guy, a doctor who has old cars and doesn't just say "I'm going to restore that one day" but actually walks the walk.
You took the words outta my mouth.
I think this fact makes this episode better than others, seeing a guy actually restoring these cars is awesome.
Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus yes, Incredible.
What a cool Doc!
That was nice of the Doc, I always wanted a stag!
Epic.

Marc René Yvon Peter Egan was a fabulous writer.
Tom is one of the few RUclips guys it would be a total honor to meet.
Mercedes and “Russian Royalty” never co-existed.
@@Applecompuser I think the doctor meant Communist party bigwigs -- the equivalent of royalty in Soviet Russia.
@@AndrewAMartin They may still be some of his best customers.
“ I should know this stuff, I don’t watch football and I don’t fish” great line!
I'm stealing that line!
Great line. You beat me to posting this quote.
just heard it and you you still misquoted him?
And he maybe dosen,t have a wife.
It's great to see you driving that wagon, patina and all. You've got to pay a visit to Cold War Motors in Alberta.
Wow! After cringing episode after episode watching cars which are rotting away waiting for their owners to restore them "someday", it is great to see someone who is actually saving these cars. Kudos.
yeah, and he also says he's selling some if the buyer wanted to restore and save it. rather tahn scrapped it.
Exactly!

one of best car shows made seriously.

Finally a Guy who restores cars not just keeps them in field... had to have a full episode just with Docs cars! Respect!

Mr. Cotter, thank you for what you do. Congratulations on your milestone. Well deserved.
Wow Thank the Doctor for letting us see that Great Collection very nice for him to let us see all of his Beautiful Cars
This is easily my favorite show of any kind, television, internet, etc. Thank you for putting these together. Don't ever change!
