Oh yes Man . That charger for less than 10,000 is a steal . Put a crater engine or a solid old 388 / 440 ( if the mounts fit ) and there u go /a check the suspensions /drive train ( i would put a new set of suspension + breaks of course ) . Solid body , nice original color .
just give it your best chance . I would suggest : Be awfully honest and clear about why u visit those guys . Once that is cleared for them , i beleive its pretty easy to discuss and share with those owners / offer bids or whatever . Life is worth taking little risks for which we need to be prepared .
You'll enjoy it. I've got some awesome deals on a few old cars because I was the first one to ask. I'm still looking for that certain AAR Cuda. My buddies dad had one up until two years ago. He bought it used in 1975 for 1500 dollars. Some people get all the luck lol
GETUP AND GO it makes it a lot easier when you’re with a tv show, I’d imagine people are a lot more willing to show off their stuff when you have cameras
I'm a Chevy Guy-but would Build that 70 Torino GT FOR SURE! My Uncle Had a 70 Torino King Cobra with a 429 SCJ. It had a Blk Shaker Hood. He Said it got 5mpg!! Have a Couple of Pics of it in My GrandMa's Yard.
Tom, I really enjoyed this episode as it was laid back and natural. Very well done finding these barns and fields of dreams and the characters that own them. Super! Regards Stephen.
Ok. Let me break this down for you people. Saturday morning, piping hot coffee, Tom Cotter. It just doesn't get any better than this. Have a great day Tom, and company.
Ranchero - nice model . There is one form 74 ( squire with wood on the sides ) for sale nearby where i live in Belgium . In very decent shape , all green + wood mixed colors and a 350 in it . Its only 15,000 $ - still for sale . If i had the bucks , i would have bought it long ago . I would mostly make a serious change in the cabin ( seats cover material / dash clusters / floor cover / etc... ) because its not a nice or exciting stock interior .
Oh wow, that's a memory, Sorry just paused it on the ford falcon futura... I own'd a 64 Falcon, 260 V8 two barrel with a three on the tree as my first car. Ate oil like it was going out of style. Pretty much stop, fill the oil and check the gas... BUT, she never left me stranded... Great car!
The Mc Laren Mustang was only labelled as Mc Laren. The transformation was done by American Sunroof Corporation (A.S.C.) nobody could do better convertible roofs in that time.
Gott a love that lady. The Ranchero looked pretty rough. I'm still wanting that black '63 Ranchero Tom found up in Michigan some episodes ago. A keeper.
FOXBODY!i like how you actually talked about it!figured that wouldnt get any kind of camera time...nice...to bad that car will never probably see the light of day again on a road..to bad people start projects or have to turn everything into a race car, shame is all
Nothing beats my first 2 cars I bought for $200.00 a 65 cadillac calias coupe and a base model 69 Lincoln continental coupe cadillac fired up and drove away. Replaced the spark plugs on the Lincoln and scored big! Both are long gone, miss that Cadillac though in 2002 mind you!
I'd try to bundle that Charger, the Blazer, & the Ford van. I'm a MoPar fan, so the Charger gets back on the road 1st, my dad had a '76 Blazer when I was a kid so that'd be next, & the Ford...well I'd flip it. Some Ford nut might buy it, shove a 302, 5-spd., & a 9" rear in it, a pair of seats, & then hold on for dear life.
The Mopar gear reduction starter a.k.a. "Highland Park Hummingbird." (Chrysler's location for many years). McLaren is on Eight Mile Road in Livonia, MI, a northwest suburb of Detroit.
I knew an old guy in Caldwell Texas who had a bunch of old cars on his place back in the 90's.. The one that always caught my eye was a mid 70's Cadillac El Camino he had just sitting in a pasture on his property.. I've no clue if the car is still there or even if the fellow who owned it is even still alive. But it would definitely be worth checking out if you're ever in that area..
318 to 360 swap, pay attention to the balancing, the harmonic balancer and little weights on the torque converter are different. 318 is internally balanced, 360 is externally balanced. On the 360, the harmonic balancer has a part scooped out, and there are tiny weights on the torque converter.
I had a 70 type NW Torino and bought a 70 GT for $60 at a police auction as a parts car. The parts car ended up being too good to part out so I just swapped a few parts like the disc brakes and sold it for $1,000. This was back in about 1998 I was 18 and wish I would have kept both cars the type NW is worth big money now it was the Oregon orange color I guess that's a harder color to find from what people tell me
That MG Midget had at least one rostyle wheel from an A-Series Opel Manta, complete with the centre cap with the separate Opel lightning badge which is a rare and very hard-to-find part now...
Great episode! Really enjoyed this one. That gal sure knows what she has on the lot. Would love to hear her stories from the dragstrip. That '69 blown Camaro on her shirt is not something you see a woman wearing very often! :)
I’ll probably be at least the 200th commenter to point out that charger wasn’t a 70.....imo those 71 on up chargers/roadrunners/satellites/gtx’s etc etc take an acquired taste I know a few guys that absolutely love those body styles!!.....not really so much for me when the cuda’s & challengers were still available in those days but each to their own....aside from that that car was in great shape and those old 318’s will wake right up with a set of J heads on them....love this channel if I could only hit the lottery or something similar this is all I’d do is go to bum fuckt nowhere USA and ask around the gems r still out there!!! But it sure helps to have some fairly serious cash on hand
Damn she hung out with Mickey Thompson she must have some cool stories. I don't like how Mickey went down I always thought somebody should make a movie off him. But it's a sad story. Like always another great episode.
That poor Torino, dude should be ashamed of himself for letting it get to and sit in that condition....it's not a junk chevelle or pos impala or nova for christs sake....
If you would post where you're going next, I could have taken you to where there are piles of MoPars, Pontiacs, and Fords here in Texas. Most complete running cars.
out in texas there are cars, just not that many, this dodge though is nice, off to nother good start ford el camino but not a real one a 40's ford pick up and 57 t-bird port hole verson too and a hotrodded pontiac but with a cool 2 key system, you know just a vw bug drag car with a ford engine in it hay some british tin always good to see, 79' mgb last few years they were sold in the usa and a falcon, and to end on just a great chevy blazer 1st gen yep i'm liking taxes more and more
in the mid 1980s my father bought a 1970 VG Valiant two door 770 318 motor off an old guy who had it since new my father paid $ 2000 for it only had 25,000 miles on the clock when i turned 18 my father gave it to me i drove it a few years till some woman jumped the red light and t boned me pushed the rear quarter panel and window into back seat and passenger door that was the end of it
Max I'd pay for that Blazer is probably $700. I'm sure in 2010 running and driving it was likely* worth more than $1500 but it appears to be pretty much tossed together then thrown to the side. I bought a 1988 F250 with newer paint, a working older rebuilt 460/C6 combo and a decent interior for $1750 in 2010.
Would have liked to see that Falcon Ranchero, appeared to be a '63 factory V8 car. The Blazer is a great deal, the Misfits at Fired Up Garage just payed 8K for one in worse shape, if reality TV is to be believed. Love the '64 Falcon HT, I have a '64 Sprint HT in my back yard, in about the same shape.
Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus.....a '64 Falcon Sprint? No way....that's runnin the 260 or 289? Either way it doesn't matter, it's a very nice ride regardless....
It was originally a 260/T-10 4spd, currently has a '64 Hipo 289 (an actual Hipo, though everyone says that) with a Toploader 4spd. It's been sitting a long time, it would run but I've never driven it. Plans are for a 331 roller stroker with a T-5 and a 9 inch with 3:50 gears - a nice quick driver, nothing crazy.
Ford came out with their convertible the same time as mclaren did. I had an 87 which was a convertible and it was the first year of that body style fox body. Just for future reference
Isn't that Blazer a second generation? Remember the 72 and back style. Also those fiberglass fenders are the pre runner style, for big travel desert racing.
Watched all the 38 episodes in one day, love the show. Would be nice if the episodes are in the 30 min range, cant get enough.
I'm not a Mopar guy and I'd bu that '72 without a second thought. Awesome entry into the muscle car world.
rcairforceone you are correct. Not a desirable year, but a respectable entry, non the less.
rcairforceone by the way, a settlement needs your help. Preston Garvey told me to mark it on your map.
@@notfried2004 he doesn't say much since I bought out a settlement and turned it over to operators before completing Open Season.....
I have a neighbour that has a 72 440 Charger. That thing is badass. PS, i live in Germany, classic american cars are verry rare
Some real gems in that collection and that includes, Susan. What a hoot of a gal. Great video Tom.
I was about to drop a comment saying she's a real hoot!
Well, you just did. lol
There is no way i would of left without the mopar...that was a killer deal
Oh yes Man . That charger for less than 10,000 is a steal . Put a crater engine or a solid old 388 / 440 ( if the mounts fit ) and there u go /a check the suspensions /drive train ( i would put a new set of suspension + breaks of course ) . Solid body , nice original color .
Oh hell yeah! I would get the 318 running good and drive it!
I wonder how you get in contact with the Mopar owner and the lady with all the cars?
I wonder how you get in contact with the Mopar owner and the lady with all the cars?
I bet it’s gone by now....
Everyone Tom finds always seems so nice...I'm afraid if I pulled into someone's driveway and started walking around, I'd get shot
nah...I've done the same thing maybe 25 times so far. People with stuff just sitting like this love to show it off.
John Smith I'll report back when I try it one of these days, ha

My favorite reality show on tv. I wish I could tag along in person on a barn find. But this will definitely do. Thanks for taking us along.

Now this channel should offer this lady her own RUclips show, on this channel. Drop the mic, because she is RUclips video gold!

There's plenty of car people in Midland. Love the Texas episodes!
Tom,
You are a delight to watch. Your show is the best. Keep finding those cars...
Barn Find Hunter is one of the best shows on RUclips. Keep up the great work!
The Mc Laren Mustang was only labelled as Mc Laren. The transformation was done by American Sunroof Corporation (A.S.C.) nobody could do better convertible roofs in that time.
Bless You guys!! Thank You for Doing this!
I would restore that 64 falcon - i am crazy for those round taillights of the 60's ford . Just love them
64 falcons my dream car and on that ford truck after it is its hood
The beetle drag w roll cage and front v8 conversion would be bada$$
Killer deal ! I agree , I would snap it up fast
she's a gem! Tom, enjoy your vids- - - - thanks,df
Gott a love that lady. The Ranchero looked pretty rough. I'm still wanting that black '63 Ranchero Tom found up in Michigan some episodes ago. A keeper.
"you got an engine for it?"
"...
We got 25 motors"
"Ok"
Lol
its got a $5000 stereo in it!
That old broad was a riot! Genuine car gal with a cracking sense of humour. She's seen it all I reckon.
The lady with the falcon says...we have 25 motors!!!😂👀
I could have watched Susan all day, she was awesome
FOXBODY!i like how you actually talked about it!figured that wouldnt get any kind of camera time...nice...to bad that car will never probably see the light of day again on a road..to bad people start projects or have to turn everything into a race car, shame is all
"that wife is a keeper!!!" :)))) holy words!!!
my heart flutter and i get teary eyed when the start and purr!

Keep this show coming Hagerty!
Love the show! Would like to have seen the Rat Rod at 8:16 also!!
I believe that's a second generation Blazer, not a first gen. But still a killer deal! Zip~
It is a second gen. I had one just like I, 2wd and everything.
I'd try to bundle that Charger, the Blazer, & the Ford van. I'm a MoPar fan, so the Charger gets back on the road 1st, my dad had a '76 Blazer when I was a kid so that'd be next, & the Ford...well I'd flip it. 15:15 Yahoo!?
Ivo Poblete .... from back in the day ... like the cars 😂
Yahoo Auction is big in some countries. I doubt she meant that however.
Or Amazon?...LoL
I will immediately surf there with my Netscape browser. Oh wait the phone line is busy...
Great show love the 72.dodge charger awesome great series barn find love this episode 😎👍❤
The Mopar gear reduction starter a.k.a. "Highland Park Hummingbird." (Chrysler's location for many years).
McLaren is on Eight Mile Road in Livonia, MI, a northwest suburb of Detroit.
3:19 OMFG!!! I loved that sound!
My first car was a 70 Torino GT with a 351 Cleveland.
I always hate when I get to the end of the episode.
Lawrence Ross
Me too...then i watch it again...😎
Hey Lawrence, I have an idea. Buy that Charger. The end of a 1/4 mile and the episode will give you the same feeling a 318 in it. Sadly. :) Ouch.
I knew an old guy in Caldwell Texas who had a bunch of old cars on his place back in the 90's.. The one that always caught my eye was a mid 70's Cadillac El Camino he had just sitting in a pasture on his property.. i would have bought the 72 Charger without a second thought. I might have got the Ford Van too for a project vehicle.
Tom has the best job in the world
Nowata Oklahoma is 20min from where I live in Oologah. Pretty cool that that the charger came from the small and super weird town.
That Charger was a 72, that was a steal, nice car
"Do you really expect the motors to be in these things" lol Love this southern peach. lol
318 to 360 swap, pay attention to the balancing, the harmonic balancer and little weights on the torque converter are different. 318 is internally balanced, 360 is externally balanced. On the 360, the harmonic balancer has a part scooped out, and there are tiny weights on the torque converter.
I'd keep the 318 and clean her up good. That Charger would make a great cruiser for the summertime.
lovely charger
I knew that I had seen the Dodge Charger before, since I drove by the car a lot going to Kansas for dirt track racing!
I had a 70 type NW Torino and bought a 70 GT for $60 at a police auction as a parts car. The parts car ended up being too good to part out so I just swapped a few parts like the disc brakes and sold it for $1,000. Tom, McLaren is on 8 Mile Rd. in Livonia, MI. A northeast suburb of Detroit.
Keep up the great work. Always interesting to see what you're up to.
That Charger was a steal of a deal! What would he want for just the Charger in the running condition?
"We can skip the rat rod." Wtf? Probably the best 1 of the lady's bunch
The charger is exceptional
I love how there was a silence and he says 'That winds picking up' lol
TOM TOM TOM.... I can't believe u've let that go! Please, tell us u didn't let that go!
Tom, keep them coming. Great show.
I would have bought that Charger in a heartbeat. That is a good deal and I would just drive it
That MG Midget had at least one rostyle wheel from an A-Series Opel Manta, complete with the centre cap with the separate Opel lightning badge which is a rare and very hard-to-find part now...
Not a Mopar fan, but you can't deny a good charger, especially at 10k
That is a 2nd Generation Blazer. I have a first Generation K5.
That's my kinda woman. She knows her stuff and likes to go fast
Great episode! Really enjoyed this one. That gal sure knows what she has on the lot. Would love to hear her stories from the dragstrip. That '69 blown Camaro on her shirt is not something you see a woman wearing very often! :)
They need to give that lady a series!

rymdmannen77 She is definitely a car girl.
I do too, she reminds me of the old days....gentle people with a hint of sass. God Bless her!
That’s at least a ‘72 charger judging by the side marker lights!
Hate it when people have better "junk" than my good stuff.
Damn she hung out with Mickey Thompson she must have some cool stories. I don't like how Mickey went down I always thought somebody should make a movie off him. But it's a sad story. Like always another great episode.

That a second gen K5 Blazer and Texas is full of cars. Fields of 'em.
Only complaint is these are too short. I could look at those old cars for days
2wd blazers are very rare. i last seen one sell 30K Restored

318 motor off an old guy who had it since new my father paid $ 2000 for it

That West Texas accent is unmistakable!
I purchase a 1973 Ford Torino as my first car and I was wondering would those seats fit in it and any tips?
That Charger was a steal..I'd love that bad boy as a daily driver!
BTW, anybody know who does the theme song for these vids? My son loves the tune.
I got laid in that Volkswagen bug. The fire Dept. Had to rescue us......😎
Love the "little boy imitating toy car engine sound" soundbite here: 1:00.

I would've definitely gotten the Charger
Tom is right wifes a keeper if she call you and let you know about old car of your interest
when the tires shine more than the paint, walk on bye

2 Door Falcon for me ! 👍👍
The 40 Ford pick-up was the best...
love it blown Camero shirt on old girl.>>
Best episode ever starts at 6:55!
She gave realistic prices for the cars but will the husband agree?
If he knows what's good for him, he will. :-D ;-)
Ford came out with their convertible the same time as mclaren did. I had an 87 which was a convertible and it was the first year of that body style fox body. Just for future reference
8:50 I want to see more about that 2 key anti theft system!
Love this show !!!!

looks prerunner to me 2.
Yes, it's a second gen K5, and yes, prerunner front fenders.
3rd actually 67-72, 73-75, 76-91, 92-94 then Tahoe 94-99
