    It would be quicker if I got the Newcastle ferry to Bergen, then hopped on a train with my shovel, and cleared it myself 🤦🇬🇧

    Not sure if you know or care to comment, at the 48 minute mark there are a lot of trees that have been snapped off nearly at their bases. Some could be logging but does not seem uniform enough to be so. What kind of wind storm did this area see that caused this as that is what it looks like? Any suggestions?
    Some trees are lined up at the tracks, others are scattered in the woods. Does not seem to be something caused by people, too random.

      It was a severe storm with 160km/h winds that hit the area in November. Lots of trees snapped like twigs because never grew resilient for something that has never happened before. The line was closed for a days due to the amount of trees over the line and torn down catenary. Check out the catenary mast just before Bergheim, and the check with previous videos of the same place, and you'll see how many trees that is now gone.

    Enjoying all your productions - so basic, maybe elementary questions (2)
    - Engineer's must have pre-knowledge of the route they will be assigned - or specific diversions required - do you have an actual "map" that forewarns of diversions, - or are you in full contact via radio throughout the trip ?
    - Same / similar question - it seems you know when a speed restriction is approaching or encountered - before you actually see the signals.... how are you advised to slow beforehand ?
    Great visuals and scenery, I focus on track switches and route the most.... Thank You !

    • @RailCowGirl

      Not bunkers. Part of the infrastructure and power supply. They are located inside the mountain to get a stable all year around temperature.

    how come the videos are only 50fps and not 60?

    • @RailCowGirl
      @RailCowGirl  2 года назад +4

      Because the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera will only record max 50fps.
      Due to changes in how the cab is designet and placement to the windshield, I have ordered a new camera system that I think will make things so much easier and better. Freight locos shakes a lot more because of the power put down into the rails etc. Then I'll be back to 60fps. :)

    RailCowGirl, do you ever get the urge to stop at the stations and pick up some passengers? I wouldn't make a very good train engineer; i keep looking at the scenery and might miss a (red?) signal....... also, the train horn, i'm used to hearing Union Pacific freight engines and their loud sounds so these "european" horns sound a bit like they might not carry as far as a UP horn but maybe that's the purpose, not to disturb the peace and tranquility of the area.
