I was born there. I have been in the USA for the past 40 yrs but I can’t wait to retire and return 😢❤ thank you for sharing its 481 years of life. Guadalajara was founded in 1542, 65 yrs before the first American settlers ever in the now United States. We are very proud of our heritage and what we have contributed to the world ❤ Jericallas were first made by the Spanish Jerica nuns that took care of the orphans in the hospicio Cabañas, they used them to treat malnutrition on the kids and make them stronger 😊
GDL is a great city! Hopefully you get to go back soon 🙏 And thanks for the info about the Jericallas - nuns sure do make some great pastries around the world 😂
OMG! Food looks delicious and the city is like the lyrics of the song “ Guadalajara hueles a limpio, a rosa temprana…..! For sure this is a city a would like to visit ♥️. Thanks guys for sharing your experiences with us!
hahaha I'm not super sure what happened there, but I thought it was funny 😂 Thanks so much for watching!!! :) And working hard on the Malaysia videos already. We're almost caught up with real life!! 🙌🏻
Loved this video! It was my first time watching one of your videos, but it won’t be the last! My husband and I are currently in Guadalajara and your video has been very helpful to discovering some of the best things to do here. We is our first stop on our world travel adventures. We are spending a month in Guadalajara and then a month in 5 other states in Mexico. We will be traveling for 5-6 years trying to decide where we’d like to retire. Safe travels!
This is amazing to hear guys! Enjoy beautiful GDL and Mexico in general, it's for sure one of our favorite countries ❤️ Good luck finding where to retire! What an adventure 😍
Very nice and beautyful city ,amazing looking markets ,the food looked yummy😋😋 I see that u didn't try the Matcho Aimara ,why? :)))Can't wait to see what Malaysia has to offer..👍❤️❤️🥀
Yes, Guadalajara is an incredible city with so much to offer! hahaha I'm kind of a picky eater believe or not haha and I don't like to eat more animals that I already do hahaha not sure if that makes sense... I didn't grow up eating goat, so I try not to add more animals to my diet 😂 PS: we can't wait to share the Malaysia videos!!
So fun to watch you two have fun in beautiful cities ❤ thank you!!! I’m inspired to go to Guadalajara! If you were going only to Guadalajara, how much time would you plan? ... I’m thinking 10 days (too long?)
You should check it out! 10 days is definitely a long time if you are an active traveler. 2 - 3 full days is plenty if you just want to see the sites, but 10 days could be fine if you like to chill, soak in the vibe and don't need something specific to do every day.
@@waysoftheworld_ Thanks! Yes, I think as a arrival and takeoff city with an out an back to the coast for diving/snorkeling and surfing would be ideal.
@philschiavone101 Hey! Do you know some affordable vegetarian places or any affordable places to eat in this area? My brother in law is Indian and is struggling with eating over there being a vegetarian. Any help is appreciated
@@cartus3866 I have not found any true vegetarian restaurants, but Zaguán, Tlaquepasta, Casa Luna, El Patio, and La mata tinta are places that have Vegetarian options. No matter where I have lived in the world, finding restaurants that serve a vegetarian meal with actual vegetables has always been a challenge.
amazing! I'm thinking of visiting GDL next year! I always wonder, people who think Mexico is "dangerous" and a "warzone" everywhere, do they watch these type of videos and what do they think about them if they do?
That's awesome to hear you're going to GDL. It's one of our favorite cities in Mexico! We have spent a decent amount of time in Mexico and plan to spend more time next year. There has not been one place where we have felt unsafe. And we go everywhere! All that stuff about Mexico being unsafe is just news... obviously things happen, but that's true for everywhere. Mexico is mostly safe, but the news don't want people to believe that, which is a shame. We hope to inspire people to go and travel and see the world with their own eyes 🙏🏼
@@waysoftheworld_ yes! I do know because I've traveled a lot recently, I've been to CDMX and Bogota, CO, both cities people have said were "dangerous" and I had a blast in both cities. Of course you have to take normal precautions and not look like a lost tourist but we never had problems anywhere we've gone.
I have been to Guadalajara at least 15 times and never have had a torta abogada. Tacos only once. There is so much good food there that are not tacos. 😂
Goat meat in Guadalajara does not taste “Goaty” at all. Most places serve the clear consomé on the side. South of where you are at they have a whole bunch of birria restaurants.
Can the folk there speak English ? What if the tourist don’t know how to communicate in Spanish ? I’m planning my trip there but I don’t have friends or relatives there.
Hi :) So, we don't really know because we always spoke in Spanish with everyone. But we did do a walking tour and the guy spoke perfect English. Our guess would be that in restaurants and stuff, someone would be able to help you order. In the local markets maybe English won't be super common, but the food is always displayed so you can always point at things and maybe learn a couple of food related words in advance to ease the process ;) - We usually write a few words on a post-it that we carry with us when we don't know the language and it helps a lot! Feliz viaje :)
@@waysoftheworld_, it’s true this video does not say that about the downtown. Yes, if I ever go back to Guadalajara, my Dad’s birthplace, I will take a video. I will make sure that I capture more of the sights and sounds, and not just me eating, or ordering food. Adios.

I have an uncle that works at the museum its a really cool place!!!!!!
Cool! It is an amazing place! 👏🏼
Thanks for sharing👏🏽…..you two are too cute😘❤
Thanks so much for watching ❤️
For the Tortas Ahogadas, you need to put the sandwich in the bag, then dump the sauce in and then take it out lol
Haha no manches! That sounds like a disaster 😂 thanks for the tip though... next time it's going in the bag!
Also the best tequila store in the world is in Tlaquepaque, El Buho
Oh we didn't know! That's cool! For next time :) Hope other people see your comment and check it out! Thanks for the info :)
That’s my city guys 😘👍!
Guadalajara es lo maximo! ❤️
Yumy!!
Too many good foods 😍
In another video I saw the bread of the ahogado was all soggy, so this looks like a superior method.

Thanks so much! hahaha really!? 😳
@waysoftheworld_ hehehe, yes, I can not eat a lot of chilli, cheers from Guadalajara 👍🏻
You cannot understand how big that museum is.
Ahhh, finally Tlaquepaque. My house is there.
We loved it ❤️

Pretty sure you had Birria for breakfast and not barbacoa
Birria is what we had after barbacoa. Barbacoa are the tortillas dipped in the barbacoa 'juice' and then fried.
Guadalajara is NOT pronounced with a “hard” G; it’s more like “WahdalaHAra”.
But Guadalajara is not only the downtown
No one said that... and we did leave the downtown ;) GDL is great! PS: you can always share your own video! ✌🏼 Would love to check it out!

is guadalajara safe like they wont kidnap tourists??

You should have their tongue. Not a fan of the pozoles in Guadalajara.
*looks so boring though. Hope it is not like that.*
