Hi Steve! I'll be picking up a '22 Seltos S in a couple weeks and I'm very excited. Excellent overview of the infotainment system, especially because I've never driven a car with such a complex computer in it. I was very surprised to see the rear heated seat option. However, everywhere I look online there is no mention of that feature, only the available heated front seats. What trim level was the car you were in? Is it maybe a regional thing? I'm in the U.S. Thanks!
Thanks Derrick, exciting about your new ride! The heated rear seats must be regional - it’s available in Canada in the EX Premium and SX turbo trims. Just scoped out the Kia USA site and it’s not looking like an option at all Kind of surprised, I find US cars are usually more feature packed than we get in Canada
It is Canada only. Canada gets several options the US does not, including heated back seat, cooled front seats, HUD, and possibly some others. I'm not sure the US gets the power passenger seat in front for example.
Can you make it go straight to the radio / navigation split screen when you get into the car on startup without hitting any buttons? Ours is just on the screen saver when we start the car
I had the maps updated in my 2020 Seltos and now have this screen you are demonstrating. How do I split the screen into 3 like my old display? Also, the speed I'm travelling does now show up on the map. Whenever it was this all updated? Thanks
Absolutely! When you first connect just select disable when the CarPlay or Android Auto screen comes up. If connected just select Bluetooth audio as the source

Wireless is standard in the lower trims, unavailable in the higher ones with the nicer screen. After you set up bluetooth if wireless Android Auto or CarPlay were available it would prompt immediately to connect to it
I just updated Kia navigation system for KIA Seltos 2022 through Canada Kia navigation website but after it's done, the odometer show distance in miles instead of Kilometers, how can I switch this back to Kilometers
Hmm.. won't be at a Kia dealer for a bit to confirm but from what I can remember it may be in the media screen Setup --> Vehicle Settings --> Cluster --> Content Selection

Hey Min! The EX in the USA has the larger 10.25" media screen which means it's a wired connection only for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In Canada our EX has the smaller 8" screen which supports wireless but our EX doesn't have a wireless charge pad
Quick question, when I’m in apple car play mode, I’m trying to use Apple Maps while using Xm radio, but for some reason its not giving that option when I hit the media option ?
Quick fix you could try: 1. Make sure that Apple CarPlay is not set to full screen 2. Set the "Star" button to bring up CarPlay 3. Once CarPlay is active, press the Media button under the media screen - choose SiriusXM 3. Press the "Star" button which should bring up Apple CarPlay 4. Use the right split screen to swipe to SiriusXM
I can't find a way to listen to the regular radio while using android auto at the same time. My 2019 Sportage EX had the ability to use waze and listen to the radio at the same time. I can't figure out how to do this with the media screen on my 22 Sorento. Any clue how to do this?
Make sure the radio is playing before you connect to Android Auto. If you go Android Auto split screen do you have the ability to swipe around to the radio on the right side?
Looking to get a 2023 kia forte gt with gt2 package. I heard the 2022 models you are unable to go full screen with andriod. I know this is a different car but i would of liked if you showed if its possible to go full screen on andriod auto. Kinda stupid if its unable to but oh well.
Hi Steve. I was seriously thinking about getting a 2022 Seltos and then I saw all the recalls due to engine fires. What do you know about that and should I be worried?
Hey Amy, had to do some digging on this to see what’s up with the recall. It seems that it only affects the 2.0L engine for 2020-2021 Seltos and there’s an active recall for owners right now. NHTSA shows there were 161 complaints out of over 100,000 units sold in the US alone. So the issue may only affect a small number of units due to a heat seal issue in the engine. Statistically you shouldn’t have anything to worry about and you can always look at the SX turbo model instead which features the more powerful 1.6L turbo!

I have a seltos coming this summer, my question about Apple system. My phone is in Android only .. Can i still use it to play music / gps etc? Or i need to buy an Apple phone?
That’s exciting Ronin! You’d still be able to use your Android phone. The Seltos has support for android auto or you can just connect through Bluetooth instead. Android auto only has the option for Google map support right now

Unfortunately not right through the screen. There are some aftermarket accessories that would allow you to mirror your full phone instead of just android auto
It would be under Phone Projection --> Android Auto and then make sure Split Screen isn't selected. But I've noticed Android Auto doesn't always want to go full screen for some reason

I'm having a hard time resetting the oil service interval.. anyone know how to do that? I tried thru the menu. Under cluster.. then service interval. I've hit reset but it doesn't reset.
@@robertmilanese1523 The ok button on the steering wheel. In your cluster screen above the steering wheel navigate to User Settings --> Driver Assistance --> Service Interval Press and hold the "Ok" button on the steering wheel and select Yes

It would be nice if you could scroll through a few radio screen graphics, or have a visual interactive equalizer. Tired of the tube graphic.
I don't know of a manufacturer that offers that.. but it would be easy enough to do. User selectable GUI would be a great way to customize!

Thanks Huu! The Seltos doesn't offer a 360 camera yet. Not sure about the 2024 models as the model highlights haven't been released yet
How to reboot the screen
Take a look at the left rocker for volume. Just to the right of that there's a little hole.. Insert a paper clip or pin and hold for a few seconds
I don't like the "nostalgic" tube look for radio stations. Is there a way to change it?

Options for changing the theme would be under Setup -- > Screen Theme/Layout or Setup -- > Display
It's fixed for some trim levels of the Seltos

Unfortunately no way to go full screen yet. There's supposed to be an update coming soon that will fix that but nothing as of yet

I believe it is because the higher trims have navigation built-in to the head units, and they wanted to avoid any "wireless interference"
