Thank you so much for your video on the Seltos. It was very helpful to me as I have a new Seltos Sports Plus 2024 and am just getting us to it. Once again thank you
thanks for this! so great and informational! one thing I would say about using split screen w/ Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is that it would be useful if you're listening to SiriusXM and want to see the channel/song info at the same time you're using navigation on Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. That's how I plan to use it when I get my Seltos :)
You're welcome! All trim levels of the Seltos have the blind spot system in Canada but in the USA the LX trim level doesn't have it, you'd have to look at the S trim or higher
@@CarsWithSteve possibly The Ford Bronco Sport hybrid, Toyota RAV4 hybrid, Kia Sportage hybrid, Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, Toyota mini Land Cruiser FJ hybrid to name a few
I didn't think Ford was doing a 2025 Bronco Sport hybrid.. There is the Maverick though that's based on the same platform! I really have to get int the Toyota lineup, feel like I'm missing out a bit
Also, I believe Quiet Mode doesn't lower "all the volume". What it does is turn the speakers/sound "off" in the rear so that audio only goes through the front speakers, for the little ones sleeping in the back. :)
All I want to know is....where is the Radio Scan Button, to have the radio Scan the Radio Dial? And...it should be there right next to the Seek Button.
Very informative video Steve! Btw I am having a problem with this wired android auto. The issue is sometimes I have to open the location shared on google maps and I don't have cable with me to connect android auto. Is there any way to open google maps shared loc in kia connect.
Thank you! Kia connect wouldn't have the option to control settings on your phone so you'd need to do that right on the Android Phone through your location settings. Make sure that you have location sharing on when you're using the app
@@CarsWithSteve Yeah I have loc sharing enabled. TBH it's kinda weird with this much expensive car to not have wireless android auto, btw I have also tried to copy the coordinates and paste it to kia connect 🤣, but it's also hit and miss, so I can't rely on this. They should provide a way to share random loc with kia car from gmap. If you know any other way to share gmap loc to kia car then pls suggest. Thnks for your reply. Love from India
The screens in the Kia world are pretty similar across models so if you have the larger screen in your Sportage hybrid you can customize the order of the buttons! Is there something specific you're trying to do?
I haven't had the chance to get into the Honda or Toyota lineup yet but there are definitely options there.. and the Escape did get an interior upgrade last year if you're still liking the style of yours
Agree 100% that wireless should be a standard feature, especially with cars equipped with a wireless charge pad but there are still manufacturers that don't offer it. Probably something to do with either licensing or privacy
Hello, Bluetooth music playlists not showing on infotainment system. Is there a specific app that will provide the playlists to the Kia so I can navigate it through the car? Without using android auto...
I just bought my daughter a 2024 Seltos. So she has to always use the cable for CarPlay? That seems like it’s going backwards in technology as my 2022 Tucson has completely wireless
It depends on the screen you have in both the Kia and Hyundai world.. For Seltos models with this larger screen (ones with factory navigation) it's wired CarPlay and Android Auto. Really odd choice on Kia's part to do that.. but it's likely going to be changed to wireless for the next generation models
They sell dongles that you can plug in to achieve wireless. Of course these are 3rd party devices . Prices seem to range around $60 for a quality one though.
It did not work for even with Waze ticked on in AA setting. May be Waze disappearance has to do with Google decision to phase it out in favor of Maps. Also: On my phone, Maps is in 2D mode but it gets to 3D mode in the car's screen???
If Waze is actually showing up on your phone under Settings-->Android Auto--Customize Launcher and it won't work.. try one of these: 1. Under Location Settings --> Permissions make sure that Waze (or other app) is changed to Always Allow 2. Change the battery optimization setting to Unrestricted instead of Optimized 3. Uninstall Waze (or other app) and install an earlier release - you might have to sideload the APK file. Seems like some people are having issues with the updated
I just recently got a Kia seltos 2024 and I've been having some issues with the usb cables when trying to use android auto, someone else has this issues??? I already got a new cable that's a better quality, it works and then disconnect
It's a common issue with most manufacturers. If it's a 3rd party cable (not from Apple, Samsung, Google etc) I find that they don't like to transfer data properly. May have to go OEM or test a few and return the ones that don't work. Just make sure they have the USB data transfer icon on them!
I've found in most cars that USB-c doesn't work properly for data transfer. If you're finding that port isn't working for CarPlay you'll have to get a USB-c to USB-a cable with support for data transfer
@@CarsWithSteve bingo! I was supposed to use usb A- c lol. My mom’s car is a rogue, and she’s got the usb C-C that works for data transfer, so it’s new to me.
Or you could try to change the playback speed to something that's easier to follow. There's also pause and rewind available if you need to take a break between sections

Hi Steve, thank you so much for your help. I'm woundering if the seltos lx awd 2024 have a blind-spot safety system. Thanks a lot in advance.

@CarsWithSteve I don't actually have a Seltos, I'm still driving a 2020 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid, but still doing my homework on my next vehicle

Greetings. Has Kia rolled out the wireless android Auto Carplay for the SX line on the 2024+
Unfortunately not and it won't end up showing up in the larger screens with factory navigation either
Do you think they could ever make the CarPlay wireless with a software update??
Can't see that happening unfortunately..

I should have a Kia for a week next month.. I'll play around with it some more and see if I can find a way to do it! Cheers!
Hi Steve, I'm just wanting to ask if the Sportage Hybrid has the Dynamic screen layout like the Seltos does?
The screens in the Kia world are pretty similar across models so if you have the larger screen in your Sportage hybrid you can customize the order of the buttons! Is there something specific you're trying to do?
@CarsWithSteve Nope, just doing my homework for my next vehicle, I'm currently driving a 2020 Ford Escape hybrid, It'll be paid in 2027
Makes sense! Have you checked out the new Sante Fe Hybrid yet?
@CarsWithSteve too big for me
I haven't had the chance to get into the Honda or Toyota lineup yet but there are definitely options there.. and the Escape did get an interior upgrade last year if you're still liking the style of yours
Why CarPlay works only with cable 2024 version ? It’s really bad. Most new and old cars already have it

@@CarsWithSteve I bought last trim ) and very surprised about this ))
Right? The smaller 8" screen is wireless but this larger one isn't
It’s because you can’t have built in navigation and wireless CarPlay. I’m not sure why that is.
Hello, Bluetooth music playlists not showing on infotainment system. Is there a specific app that will provide the playlists to the Kia so I can navigate it through the car? Without using android auto...
Not that I've been able to find yet.. it just pulls the individual songs when you're connected over bluetooth.
@@CarsWithSteve Thanks for the response, I tried Samsung Music yesterday and works!
Oh awesome!! Glad one of the apps works. I'll look at adding in that extra step next time I shoot in a Kia

@@CarsWithSteve yep. She has the large screen. That kind of sucks. But it her car, not mine so she can deal with it. lol. Thank you!
Is it possible to enable wireless car play in Kia Selto's Ex Premium?
Not with this larger screen. It only has support for USB CarPlay and Android Auto

How to use RUclips
You can listen to RUclips music but there's no video playback support through the screen
