Love the update. I was having issues using the assistant and making phone calls and texts. I would argue with you about "most people in Australia" liking performance cars. The average person is far more interested in value for money, reliability, comfort, cargo space and fuel economy than burning rubber at the lights. I recently purchase a Kia Seltos and was disappointed at the number of on-line reviews of the GT version as opposed to the plain vanilla S, which I ended up buying and which is by far the better value. Ok, but one thing you neglected to mention is when you “finish” the update & your radio restarts, are you supposed to take the usb flash drive out or leave it in? So this is just one guy's opinion (Pat's), but I don't think so. Kia does not seem to be happy with the functionality of the wireless carplay, and I think they decided not to roll it out further. When I had a 21 Sorento, and I was doing a roadtrip, it would drop the connection every 20 minutes.

It sounds like you are trying to download the file to a tablet? I would suggest using a pc/mac to download as it will format the USB for you. (it will delete everything that is on the USB when formatting).
Yes, most dealers will do this for you. I know we tell owners that they would need to leave us their vehicle for most of the day though, as every model updates at different speeds. It can take a few hours sometimes.

IHello Gabi have a question; does an electric car have own internet? I mean it´s all the time conected to internet or just the GPS is all the time active?
Very interesting and useful for Kia and Hyundai owners. What do you mean by "Select" vehicles --- which vehicles -- will all Kia and Hyundai eventually have this update feature? And how many years will this update process continue --- for the lifetime of the vehicle? Thank you.
Kia offers 10 years of updates from new (which is subject to change). I actually don't know the Hyundai policy. www.kia.ca/en/owners/kia-ownership/connectivity-support/kia-navi
Thanks for sharing. This should be seamless, like in Teslas - the car should tell me that an update is ready > Please install. I shouldn't hv to check it myself in a laptop & then take a USB drive to my car - feels way too old school for 2023. Still better than some other manufacturers I guess - where you'd hv to take the car to a dealership for an update, smh.
Insightful comments - other manufacturers are still charging for Navi updates, whereas they are no charge for Kia/Hyundai owners, going back to the 2016 model year. In some of the 2023 models, we have OTA (over the air) updates, but we haven't been able to show it, as there's no updates yet. I will admit, tesla does do it right.
Can we see the “after” upgrade features? I have a 2019 PHEV Niro and have heard the radio icons look significantly different after one of the upgrades. Can you selectively choose what to update? I.e. can we update maps but not the entertainment system?
Once you update the system, you can't roll it back. Here's a video we did when the update first came out and it shows what it looks like and what changes. ruclips.net/video/O2FCflq-OyQ/видео.html
Hey Gabi...Quick question...Can I update the navigation/infotainment system & change the software region at the same time as am moving the car from one region to another or does that crash the system? Long story short; am moving the car from South Korea to Africa so would changing the region by updating the software make any issues to system? @BrantfordKia
I just got a Tucson Luxury HEV so I don't have the nav system. For other updates to the media system or the Hybrid system, if necessary, does Hyundai Canada notify owners of the availabilty of updates?
I updated my 2019 Niro once, which got me the first generation of sounds of nature. I only liked the lively forest, but I prefer to listen to my Spotify music instead. LOL
Unfortunately, no - it's an all or nothing deal. If you update the radio, and you don't yet have the "purple" screen, I think it will update. Here's a video that shows the first one we did, and the ups/downs of the new screen. ruclips.net/video/O2FCflq-OyQ/видео.html
Hey Gabi, great job on the videos. Question, I just bought the K5 GT 2023 model. Looks like the last update was in October. Can I safely assume a car bought in March was delivered with the October update? Regardless, when I searched for my model, it only listed the K5, no mention of the GT model specifically. Does that mean the software updates apply to the K5 in all trims? Thanks much!
Interesting thing. My Kia has 2021 Fireware and on a web page, it is written that the available update is for November 2022. And i would agree to update it to November version, since in 2021 there are Ye Old names of streets and my home cannot be found. I assume in 2022 version there should be a new UI, but my KIA does not want to update. Says that there is no available update. That is weird.
I think i have to do this on my 5 day old kia sorento. I tried to navigate home last night and my address doesn't exist yet on the build in navigation. Lol
I see two updates for my Kia Sportage 2022 One from early November - [Standard Gen5W Navigation] OTA updates for maps and software And another for early December - December 2022 Navigation Map and Software Update" Should I install them in order or just go for the latest one?
Software won't install. Says it's already installed, but it never installed! Never installed on the hard drive, so there isn't anything to move to the USB drive. So I can't update 2018 Kia Niro Touring Hybrid. Open to suggestions please
For gas powered vehicles does the engine need to be running for the duration of the update? And is there a simple way to check if my vehicle is up to date? Thank you for the great and useful content!
Depending on the vehicle, the update can take a while. We did one on a gas soul, and it was several hours - most of the vehicles will shutoff after 30 minutes if they aren't running, so I recommend letting it run. The last published update was in October 22, so if you haven't done an update, then there's one available. Here's the link. www.kia.ca/en/owners/kia-ownership/connectivity-support/kia-navi

When contacted the service center, they say that the update should happen auomatically through cloud which is not happening at all and to be precise they are also cluless about this. I have contacted customer service via call and even they are clueless abouut this. Please help me in this regard and will the update through USB you mentioned in the above video will resolve my issue. Kindly advise. Thanks.
I’m getting 2024 EV 6 Land pkg 2 this week turning in my Subaru Legacy Premier Gt 2021. Updates on the Subie were by wifi when I was parked at my home as the car was connected to my wifi. Does the EV6 connect to home wifi?
IHello Gabi have a question; does an electric car have own internet? I mean it´s all the time conected to internet or just the GPS is all the time active?
Can we plug in an external HD (with the updates) into the EV? Or must we use a thumb USB?
I have a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. How do I receive notifications of these updates?
Thank you.

I updated my 22 Sorento SX Prestige this morning was easy as
Hey Gabi...Quick question...Can I update the navigation/infotainment system & change the software region at the same time as am moving the car from one region to another or does that crash the system?
Long story short; am moving the car from South Korea to Africa so would changing the region by updating the software make any issues to system?
@BrantfordKia
Great video,I enjoyed the information very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I just got a Tucson Luxury HEV so I don't have the nav system. For other updates to the media system or the Hybrid system, if necessary, does Hyundai Canada notify owners of the availabilty of updates?
Damn Gabi!! 😍
2024 Sonata NLine and many other Hyundai 2024 models have OTA updates!! I hope Hyundai will continue the OTA feature in their future line ups!!
Banging, seriously banging.
This only updates the whole infotaiment or maps?
And for the powertrain update, I have to visit the dealer ?
I updated my 2019 Niro once, which got me the first generation of sounds of nature. I only liked the lively forest, but I prefer to listen to my Spotify music instead. LOL
Unfortunately, no - it's an all or nothing deal. If you update the radio, and you don't yet have the "purple" screen, I think it will update. Here's a video that shows the first one we did, and the ups/downs of the new screen.

Dealer couldnt see me until Nov! Your video waa great! Hipe it works. Just started it!
Very helpful. Much appreciated.❤
Do i need to make backup before i download the update ?
Is it safe ?
Hey Gabi, great job on the videos. Question, I just bought the K5 GT 2023 model. Looks like the last update was in October. Can I safely assume a car bought in March was delivered with the October update? Regardless, when I searched for my model, it only listed the K5, no mention of the GT model specifically. Does that mean the software updates apply to the K5 in all trims? Thanks much!
Is there any update available for x-line limited kia sportage? Thank you
what exactly model of flash drive must be used for sportage 2024?
How about a video for a 2023 Tucson Limited software update..please and thank you
ok - sounds good.
Why do I want to drive to Canada to any Kia Hyundai dealer all of a sudden.
How do you update Kia Infotainment system back to Hyundai? UK Hyundai I10 Go Se 18 Plate?
Good video. I was not aware I could update the maps this way. Took about 45 minutes to update my 2022 Sonata N-Line.
Does this update the volume issue in the 2024 kia Sportage??
Excellent video & super useful. Thank you!!! I just updated our Sportage Hybrid. 🤙🏽
Glad you liked it!!
Ok now will updating my software get my FM radio to work.?
Have 2021 Seltos. Downloaded the update but could now
get the car to read the drive. What other option is there to get the update
Very helpful video. Thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Lol
how large of a thumb drive would you need to do the updates
What you mentioned about searching by model number and software doesn’t work on the windows program. It’s just a image, and doesn’t accept any input.
I see two updates for my Kia Sportage 2022
One from early November - [Standard Gen5W Navigation] OTA updates for maps and software
And another for early December - December 2022 Navigation Map and Software Update"
Should I install them in order or just go for the latest one?
You can install the newest file.
I have kia sportage 2024 and didnt find my new update in the pc app . Only 2021 and below
Updated my software to the latest version yesterday, now it won't open up maps. I hear the beep when I click on it, but nothing happens.
very good quality video so professional
Thank you very much!
Here's the link.

is it work on Hyundai Tucson 2025?
During the Installation update, I had to step out so I turned off my Vehicle. what will happen if the Installation is stopped midway?
My Soul will not read the usb. I have verified that it’s the correct usb. How do I troubleshoot?
