And when pressing the Google Assistant microphone it shows my voice is being detected but then Assistant says "sorry something went wrong" so for some reason its not registering and have no idea why
That's right.. the last gen screen supports a wired USB connection only.. With the voice assistant button, do a longer press and hold instead of just a short press!
As long as you have the stock radio there would no reason why the process can't be reversed. Unless the stereo installer seriously messed up the wiring.. You might need to have the screen reprogrammed when it's reinstalled though
Apple CarPlay does not seem to work on my 2021 Kia Sportage and iPhone 16. I enable car play on the phone and the car and plug it in but nothing pops up on the car screen or my phone screen. The CarPlay is still grayed out and not letting me click on it as well. Any other tips ?
You might have to use the USB-a port but check this video out that goes over some other options --> ruclips.net/video/Rw_b44CPH24/видео.html Some other people mentioned getting it to work but getting an adapter for their usb cable to go from usb-c to usb-a
Believe that was on an older system that didn’t have support for CarPlay or Android Auto. Best bet is to look into aftermarket decks with support for them
Some trim levels of the Sportage support wireless only and some support wired only. They aren't cross compatible so if yours is wired you won't be able to use wireless

Nope.. wireless is only available in certain trims

I removed my stock radio from the Kia and I hate the new one that was installed . Can I put my old one back in? The car stereo guy says no.

Yes! Make sure that Android Auto is installed on your phone first and then connect to your car using the instructions in this video

Unfortunately not.. the smaller screen doesn't have the option for nav

You can only use audio but there's the option of using a USB stick or streaming audio over bluetooth instead
