This movie actually predicts this whole era of mainstream loving serial killers and criminals even though we have proof and facts on their crimes... It is actually foreshadowing this whole "image over facts" system we live in right now.
It didn’t predict it. It’s always been that way. Chicago was made in the 70s and it was a story about a killing in the 20s. If it bleeds it certainly leads.
True crime bursts tend to happen every 20 years, nothing new in the world. After the Lawson family was murdered in the 30s tours of the house went on for years just a few months after it happened. The daughter made a cake the day of the murder which the showed-on display and looky-loos kept stealing pieces of it for a ' souvenir'. People are gross and always
I disagree with the blanket statements here. I didn’t see this movie but this suggested clip was worth a shot (bad movie). I didn’t follow the OJ Trial but we watched the verdict at work. A subset, a disturbingly large subset of the population doesn’t have guardrails on their lurid interests. They unfortunately have influence on the media that seeks to keep everyone distracted anyway. Definitely a lose/lose situation.
The fact that Sam Waterston was around 53 years old when this was filmed is beyond remarkable. He looks much, much younger. I had to check my math a few times.
I got to see John Waters in person this year at the Las Vegas Book Festival (and even got to ask him a question during the Q&A). He said that Serial Mom is his masterpiece and his own favorite of his movies.
Fun fact; the person playing the main character and her husband both were on law and order her husband played legendary Jack McCoy and she played a one time guest star defense council
WoW! I was only thinking of this movie the other day when I had on white and this movie jumped into my memory....and now this is in my feed. Hmm, I wonder if I somehow Googled "white after Labor Day"? 🤣
@@bob494949It’s not even about class. You didn’t wear white back in the day after a certain time because of the streets being filthy. Has nothing to do about class etc.
Whom will remake this film? If they do it should star Margot Robbie, Jack Dylan Grazer, Griffin McIntyre, Jensen Gering, Crew Morrow, Mckenna Grace, Ariana Greenblatt, and Jake Mcdorman
I have never seen this movie but it looks like it will be good and funny.i like kathleen turner because i have seen her in other movies and thought she was a good actress and i have seen susanne sommers in threes company and she is funny too
John Waters movies being remade hasn't been good. Hairspray is an example of how the remake starring John Travolta wasn't as good as the original starring Devine.

This movie is really great. A true cult classic and hilarious.
Suzanne Sommers realization at the end🤣
I watched this movie with my friend and her grandmother. The grandmother was aghast at that juror wearing white shoes after Labor Day.
Fashion HASN'T changed!!!!
@@mistersurrealist Thanks goodness. A sound mind in the crowd. Wendy Williams seemed like one of the only talk show hosts that followed that rule.
Jessica Rabbit and Mrs. Puff going at in court! Thought I’d seen it all! LoL
Happy 30th anniversary, _Serial Mom._
Only John Waters would make Patty Hearst the "offending" juror.
The fact that that’s patty Hearst is insane
Yeah completely insane
And her crimes too.

Chicago predates this though. It was made in the 70s about a trial in the 20s. It’s always been like this hence, “if it bleeds, it leads”.

@revengeofbcraig5755 The original Chicago was written like two years after the inspired crime right?

The most iconic scene 😂
An absolutely hilarious underrated classic 😂😂😂.

Kathleen Turner was brilliant in this.
I can't think of a single thing she did poorly in.

Suzanne Somers has some beautiful teeth, I love seeing her show them when she smiles. RIP.
"Chip, the only 'serial/cereal' I know anything about are Rice Crispies!" 😄
I wear all white for the 7 days following labor day. When people say,"You can't wear whit after labor day", I say "Watch me!".

Because she is the voice actor of Miss Puff.
Great flick
Favorite!
Such a fun movie.
Oh SpongeBob. Whyyyy
Great movie ❤
I LOVE this movie! A must cult classic watch
I've seen people on RUclips wear white shoes after Labor Day. It's horrifying.
Please grow up!
Suzanne Somers, this is my bad side!
I think we can all agree that the juror was killed by a copycat killer.
How many actresses at the level Turner was would do that flashing under the table bit?
This movie looks like a fever dream
Beverly can be so control freak.
The hit her multiple times with dat phone
Are you aware that this movie was originally written for DIVINE?
Seriously? That would have been great to see.
Divine as Beverly?
love KT in this movie

This woman with camera has got white shoes as well!
Scott Wesley Morgan (Detective Pike) is so cute
This movie is a classic - simply hilarious but also a wise social commentary on how cheap human lives were to become. I could watch it again and again
