- The fan-favorite Main Street Electrical Parade has returned to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. More importantly, it is now being performed nightly on Main Street USA! This video shows its first public performance on June 5, 2010 after returning to Orlando as part of Disney's Summer Nightastic promotion.

I havent been to disney in 8 years I am 15 and just seing this as a mature person just brought a tear to my eye all the good times when I was a kid.
My God... This is awesome! Hearing the synthesized voice! I keep listening to it over and over again! It sounds like the really did use a mix of Jack's voice.
Im pretty sure you do know this now, but it is jack's voice for this announcement.

@@harwickbranch it was mentioned by someone who worked on it before. He said they just used old audios and vocoded it

I miss this parade so much 😢
My sister & her husband, their kids and I watched the parade last week; for me it brought back many fond memories of family trips to Disney World from 1979-1985. The floats are essentially the same as they were 30 years ago (though updated a little, and sadly, a few missing).
Thanks, Disney, for allowing a family to pass on a tradition to another generation - with a classic parade (even if it's a little different).
I saw this parade when i first went to Disneyland Paris when i was 5 in 2000 and to see it there on my first visit WDW 10 years later was amazing. Hearing the music brought back so many memories
This parade is just absolutely wonderful and never gets old. Our family has been going for years. To see the look in our kids eyes brings us back to the times we were kids.

Idc how many times in how many vids of this parade Ive seen every time that voice comes out I get goosebumps even more when the musoc comes out
Because of your AMAZING filming and clarity, I was able to sync my I pod to the music so my kids could watch. Fortunately, I was able to be there for the first several years it previewed in 1972 when I watched with such AMAZEMENT!!!!

Today is the 34th anniversary of the Main Street Electrical Parade! I saw it the year it premiered in 1977!

Actually, the SpectroMagic tune is the new tune. This is the original. I saw it in '86 & '99, and I cannot picture this parade without it. Guess you just have to be sure you visit Disney during the right time :)
this was a spectacular parade that I'd experienced... feeling like a child-i would've enjoyed being a child @ Dreamworld.

i went to disney in may of this year with my high school marching band and we led off the electric lights parade on may 6th

Disneyland's Paint the Night: The new Electrical Parade will debut on May 22, 2015 for the 60th Anniversary of the Park. Can't wait!!!! But Main Street Electrical Parade is still awesome.

I miss it at Disneyland, but I'm glad WDW gets to have it for a while. I just hope that when they bring it back, they bring the Blue Fairy back too.
I love the grace and beauty of SpectroMagic, but the MSEP just outdoes it for me. I know when my family first learned of its return in 2010, we cancelled our plans for a different vacation and went straight for Disney to see this wonderful parade! Nothing beats it!

Why can't they keep this forever! That was the one of the few things I didn't get to see while I was there in June. My family was all tired from getting up at 5:00 that morning to got to our early breakfast at Chef Mickey's. So weleft before the parade and fireworks:( I was sad.
Just today disney said that we will have the electrical parade for the whole month!!!!
This parade has so much character and it was fun to watch here at Disneyland. I've never enjoyed another parade since. Thanks for sharing! I have to get to Walt Disney World before they take it from there as well!

yeah i miss Dumbo and Blue Fairy alot although from Cast Members i've talked to the Dumbo's Circus section was a pain to keep maintained which was probably why it was removed (although it's removal must have been a last minute thought as when the parade opened in 2009 with the Tinkerbell,Pleasure iasland and complwte 7 Dwarfs section, they actually DID record 2 alternating loops for the Dumbo section

No, it is summer nights only but now in 2011, the parade is open-ended for visitors to see again.

The last time I checked, they did. Disney World has FOUR theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios). Also, the MK is adding additional rides in Fantasyland. So it is FAR FAR better than Disneyland. Plus they have room to continue to grow. Disneyland can't continue to expand, sadly, being stuck in downtown Anaheim. It's a cool place to visit tho! :)
@MBrilhart TY! it's quite interesting how their are a few fkloats in Spectro that resemble floats that are or used to be in the MSEP. the majority of the Finale floats and Arriel's Spectro float are prime examoples (her float closely resembles the old Pinocchio Underwater float although they are not even the same float as the floats for Spectro were built from the ground up in WDW's Central Shops

@WDI2008 The return date has not been set as the Electrical Parade is now open-ended (It will stay for a long time). I haven't seen SpectroMagic in person yet. : (
But it's the return of Electrical Parade in Magic Kingdom, since the Original Electrical Parade has now ended it's run, but some of the floats I missed was The Blue Fairy and Dumbo's Circus.

Yes! I was there that night! It was our first day there, the fourth time we had gone. But I was in Frontierland. I was so excited to see this parade its first night! Except it kept getting delayed :/

@Itssnitchy (cont.) Tinkerbell is now reminicent with kids. She still serves roughly the same pourpose, her pixi dust lights the way for the parade, and I personally love how the pixidust trail is incorporatd into the parade. Disney has to change things over time to appeal to a newer generation. Without these changes, Disney would fail.
And why I'm glad I live in Cali.

This is my favorite parade! I cant believe I didn't know it was back... Thank you very much for posting this! do you know how long it will stay there? I am going for star wars weekends and will definitely go to MK just to see that!

@TheAC29 i saw dumbo for the first time as an adult while tripping on acid. dumbo was a brilliant piece of art and storytelling.
Great Sound quality. I wish I can find the soundtrack for this parade.
Disney: Why can the parade not also be in Disneyland too? Please bring back the ORIGINAL parade to California where it belongs!
@timlamiam Yeah, the last time I saw Dumbo's Circus and The Blue Fairy floats was at Disney's California Adventure.

@TheJosh933 it's still there. rumor has it that it's supposed to move back to Ananheim next spring and Spectromagic (barf!) is supposed to return.

MSEP is not coming to Disneyland beacuse we already have Paint The Night ELectrical Parade. Disneyland already killed MSEP back in 2010. Sad to say but its true. Coming from a MSEP fan.

LOVE this parade, but they need to have the ORIGINAL music from the ORIGINAL parade. This has been redone. It's ok, but if you remember the parade was in its glory (before 1991), you'll know what I mean. And it wasn't the Magic Kingdom proudly presents ... it was Walt Disney World proudly presents ... the Main Street Electrical Parade!! Still, it's nice to see it back.
@Itssnitchy I never said that the floats HAD to, but they have a great arsenal of character that can relate to kids. Several attractions opening day were not movie related and many followed. As I said in my other post to you below, Disney has to change over time to appeal to a new generation. Without these changes, Disney would fail. All I was trying to do was answer your original question. I do not appreciate you attacking my answer. If you don't want the answer to the question, DON"T ASK IT!

@Itssnitchy Disney is all about the story. In the eyes of Imagineers and young children, these characters are REAL! Just like you or I can't be here at our home, our Disneyworld at the same time, Tinkerbell can not be leading the parade, and in the pirateship at the same time. There can't be two of me, or two of tinkerbell. As for the "marketing." Walt Disney originally built Disneyland not only for parents and kids to have fun together, but to also promote his films.

when the new Dayime parade opens in 2014 The Main Street Electrical Parade will go down for 6 months of much needed TLC & repair. during that time the nee Daytime will perform twice a day.
@22036DisneyfanAs I recall the final float in the parade does not salute (no pun intended) a particular film, therefore it is not necessary for each float in every parade to be a marketing ploy. Disney did promote his films in his park, but the Electrical Parade was engineered after his death, therefore your comparison is invalid.
And of course there cannot be two of you 22036Disneyfan. But that is why "dreams come true" at Disneyland. There, anything is possible.
I wish Disney would add all the characters in the Electrical Parade... I don't care if I have to sit on my ass for an hour.

Wow! This is awesome but it is so much different than TDL's version...! I don't want to sound negative, but it would be really cool if MK imported some of the float ideas from Japan. :)

The thing is your compairing Apples to Rocks. Disneyland has 2 THEME PARKS. Disney World has 1 Theme Park(Magic Kindom). The other parks at Disney World are completly differant kinds of parks all of whom have different standards for attractions(rides). If you want to compair to Cali parks the fair compairison is to SD Wild Animal Park(AK), Universal Studios LA(DHS), and the CA State Fair(EPCOT) those are the direct "park" types they are competing with and in each case DW wins, on attaction count
