  • Waynne Paskins grew up on the outskirts of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. At that time, job opportunities for Blacks were limited to manual labor in businesses supporting the seasonal tourist trade. Fortunately, Waynne's mother was an excellent baker, and worked at the Dinner Bell In, a successful restaurant. Waynne got a job there, and ultimately became one of the first Black waitresses at the restaurant, which was one of the first businesses to integrate in Rehoboth Beach.
