Voices of Delaware Black History: Denise D. Hicks Barnes

Denise Hicks Barnes grew up outside of Lewes, Delaware as the local schools were being desegregated. Her family's strong beliefs about educational equity meant she and her sister became trailblazers in school integration, and a success in life.
