    I got this for my 21 Road Glide Special. I'm very happy with it. The Arlen Ness has many more pleats, more air cleaner material. Not only is it 20% taller, but I believe the cloth media makes it easier for fresh air to enter. The engine will breathe better and looks very nice.

      do you have to get it re
      tuned or can you just run this

    • @CAGraphics576
      @CAGraphics576 8 месяцев назад

      No, not necessary. From what I have read the onboard computer can handle up to a 10% change. I didn't notice any change, nor did I expect to notice any additional power. But, if you change your slip-on mufflers, you may need to remap to maximize the change. I added the air cleaner mainly for looks.

    The oval air cleaner that comes on 21 and newer RG and SG Specials is the Ventilator Air Cleaner that has a washable with soap and water filter element. Do not oil this. The SE Ventilator comes with a K&N filter.

    Hi Iron Anchor Cycles, liked & subscribed, great option, look forward to more of your content. When time permits could you tell me if I would need to get a tune after installing this Arlen Ness ? Thank you & take care, Kenneth

    If you don't like the black top lip on the front cover, you can take it off and flip it upside down. Cleaner look.

    Read that the stock rain sock will not fit with this install, true? If so, where might one get the correct size rain sock?

    Thicker filter, do you need longer bolts to mount it? Are they supplied? Thanks. Edit just read the description and it comes with spacers 🙂

    • @toolmaker5150
      @toolmaker5150 Год назад

      The spacers are plastic 😮 Since the bolts are captured by a cover on the air cleaner, I would prefer aluminum spacers. Thoughts?

    my friend, does this air filter element perfectly replace the original or does it need adaptation? Is it washable?

    If you just put a big sucker air filter on do you need to put a tuner on if everything else is stock?

    I have a 2017 HD Freewheeler with the M8/107. My Ness Big Sucker kit says to unplug and tie off the electrical connector at the base of the throttle body. Is this critical for my install ? I can't even see how it disconnects !

    With a 2021 HD Street Glide Special, is it already basically a “stage 1” air intake? Just replace the filter eith a better one?

  • @jimbo4260
    @jimbo4260 2 месяца назад

    The diameter of the throttle body is a fixed size. And it sucks a ton of air but it too is limited because of its size. What's the dyno spec of a bike with a stock filter and this filter? Sounds like a lot of lip service with no proof of any true benefit.

    Do you have to tune the bike when putting on that air filter?

    • @FriedPi-mc5yt
      @FriedPi-mc5yt 2 месяца назад

      Not always if your bike is fuel injected. The computer has some variability to tune the bike for a Stage 1 upgrade. If you do more than just adding slip on mufflers and a better intake. Then you’ll will need to get it tuned. I’m running a stock Road King but I went ahead and bought a V&H FP3 to go on it. It was about $400 but it’s a nice upgrade even for stock bikes. Mostly because with every upgrade, you can flash a map to the ECM with no visit to a bike shop. I flashed a V&H map for a stock 2018 Road King and it really pepped the bike up. I turned off the 109 mph speed limiter Harley restricts the bike to and turned up the sensitivity on my throttle response. I’m getting ready to put pipes and an intake on the bike. So the tuner will be there to tune up the bike when those are done. The good thing is that V&H are constantly updating the maps for the tuner. The best part is that connects by Bluetooth to my phone. I just turn the bike on, go to my V&H app on my phone and tune the bike. It’s actually pretty great. V&H even have maps for common cams. You just input all the info for your bike and flash the ECM with the new map. It even has a learning feature that will learn the best tuning for the bike and make adjustments as you ride it.
      I’m not a being paid by V&H for this endorsement.😂
      Just look into the Vance and Hines Fuelpak 3 and see what it can do.

    • @CAGraphics576
      @CAGraphics576 Год назад +1

      No, you shouldn't. Not unless you swap out the slip-on exhaust. The onboard computer and sensors will handle the little bit of increased air flow this filter provides.
