I think their inverted hands are a physical manifestation of their greed; where mortals are always grasping inwards towards what is theirs, a Rakshasa is always reaching outwards towards what others hold.
I'm using one of these as a right-hand-fiend to my big bad. My players are extra powerful, so I amped it up with a few more spells. They effing HATE that guy, but they can't pin him down to get rid of him. It's awesome!
I remember in Pathfinder they had a Rakshasa bloodline for tieflings. If you want a fun character, have a rakshasa's offspring be committed to taking them down.
This was suggested to me randomly, I caught it with only 57 veiws and 7 comments. Posted 7 minutes ago. I'm only 2 minutes in and I've subscribed. Good job and keep it up guys. The algorithm is promoting you a little harder it seems.
You guys are amazing with this lore, I really have just binged all your videos again from the beginning since lockdown started here in Scotland 💙💙💙💙 I reccomend you guys to every DM I know
Hello dear friends over here at Dungeoncast, I'm Brian - one of two narrators (the other being Dave) on the fellow D&D channel MrRipper! How the holy happening hell are you guys doing over here? Just subscribed and we really hope yall do well and that you guys are having a good time, staying safe and being healthy and happy in all aspects. All the love to you fellas.
Definitely a good monster for fucking with Warlocks, since eldritch blasts are resisted by this thing, and almost nothing resists ELDRICH BLAAAAAAAAAST!
Anyone who down votes these guys rolled a nat 1 on perception lolol they are amazing. Some of the best dnd content out there right now imo. Thanks for all the quarantine videos guys!
These guys sound like they would make for great recurring villains that you don’t have to worry about your party fighting or killing. They can always make their way back to the group to goad your players or drop some juicy plot points.
I was searching for this video by you guys the other day. But you hadn't made it yet lol. Your breakdown is always on point. Thanks for making this!!! You guys are dope!!!
You didn't mention Zakya Rakshasa from Eberron: Rising from the last war. A lower CR type of Rakshasa but with some serious martial prowess. Page 309 if you want to check them out.
I’m new here but the way you said the name of these monsters I immediately went “Ah I am glad I’m not the only one who says it like the Hyenas from OG Lion King.”
I have heard some descriptions of mythological Rakshasas that depict them as humanoid tigers. Granted, that's not the only form they appear in in mythology, but it is a form they appear in.
So question in the video you say 2 things 1. Female rakshasas rise there young 2. Once they die they eventually reform on to the mortal plane so is there like a ever growing population of them?
I am willing to bet that lots of raksasha's die mainly to holy weapons. More then likely held by holy warriors of faiths, sent to kill the raksashas. And a fun idea is, opposing forces of evil let good folks, like priesthoods and the like. Under a disguise, give pre-text or information stating their cases. Maybe they are believed. Or hire a group of adventurers and places a hit out on their enemy. But it seems like raksashas are meant to be a hidden threat under the guise of someone else. For all we know, a very good leader of a large city, is a raksasha in disguise, ordering horrible acts to be done. But due to their nature, able to play both good and bad. Casting blame aside and ensuring no one is capable leading any info back to them. But these are but speculations and stories/theories I havr read
I just threw together a plot on Reddit about a merchant guild who is threatened by were-s for “protection” money... but the big-bad was basically a low-level mob underboss who gets turned as a result of a random encounter and goes on to turn & dominate the rest of the underworld leading up to wresting control of the local landed-nobility... he was comedically modeled after Fat Tony from The Simpsons, but I think that now I want to make him a recurring character after dying and being sent to the a fiendish plane becoming a Rakshasa!
YessSs my players met one around level 8 and befriended him freed from his prison named him Garfield,There level 18 now they love him and someone became his warlock.
I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the rockinshasa dungeoncast! . . .yes I know the pun sucks milords, I'm a paladin, not a comedian. Speaking of my job as a paladin, I've heard that a new thieves guild has been on the rise in recent months. I've been racking my brain over how to bring down this organization! However you have given me an idea! I theorize that a rakshasa is capitalising on these lands troubles after the slime out break ruined us in order to make people suffer even more! I'll have to investigate further! Good day good lords of knowledge and laughter! Ah, my fix has been delivered yet again, thanks boys. Just one thought that I like, what if you used a rakshasa as a merchant? Instead of tying him, or her to the bbeg, make them an unrelated merchant your players can deal with. It can end in one of two ways, either the players are very careful with the wording of their deals and end up getting a merchant who sales very valuable items, or they mess it up and the rakshasa screws them over. Anyway I don't have much else to say. Have a good night guy's, hope your day is going well.
Where is the lore that a blessed bolt permanently kills them, coming from? It just kills them instantly, not permanently, according to the source books.
I've had an idea of playing a former Protector Aasimar who was once a powerful noble, but his ego and laziness led to the fall of him and his guardian angel (who encouraged his behaviour). Now, he's a Scourge Aasimar Zealot Barbarian (who's Radiant Consumption feature accelerates his transition to Fallen). Fueled by self-loathing and indignation, his mission is to redeem himself by slaying his former-guardian now Rakshasa, who has stolen his fortune and identity and run him out of town.
I think their inverted hands are a physical manifestation of their greed; where mortals are always grasping inwards towards what is theirs, a Rakshasa is always reaching outwards towards what others hold.
When you make a deal with these, always check the fine print for hidden claws
I'm using one of these as a right-hand-fiend to my big bad. My players are extra powerful, so I amped it up with a few more spells. They effing HATE that guy, but they can't pin him down to get rid of him. It's awesome!

One of my favorite monsters. Keep up the good work guys.
Already had a bunch of monster ideas planned out to torture my players and now i MUST write something for a Rakshasa.
Great episode btw :D

YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE
Getting Moriarty vibes with the Rakshasas
YESSSS MY FAVORITE FIEND FROM MY FAVORITE DND RUclipsRS RIGHT WHENE I WAS GETTING OVER A HORRIBLE WEEK YOU GUYS NAKE A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER thank you
These guys sound like they would make for great recurring villains that you don’t have to worry about your party fighting or killing. They can always make their way back to the group to goad your players or drop some juicy plot points.
If you are using these creatures, your story has to be purr-fect
I was searching for this video by you guys the other day. But you hadn't made it yet lol. Your breakdown is always on point. Thanks for making this!!! You guys are dope!!!
Campaigns with this monster are real games of... cat and mouse
OMG A Doormouse would be an amazing race to play. Gotta think its similar to a flightless Fairy Mechanically

I could see rakshasa used as a shady npc, dealing in information and rare items, always demanding something terrible for it's help
I recently saw some art depicting Joe Exotic as a rakshasa. Very fitting, and made me wonder if a D&D campaign could be based around him and his crew?
Had to rewatch this and that part when will can't answer that question is gold
"Fuck you apocalypse" Big 2020 energy
You guys should look at mordakesh from the eberron book. He’s like the general of a rakshasa army
CR 15 I think

"Building Off of the backs of those who came before them." That Kind of deal? Because other then stepping on toes, that's all I knows
So my boy pazuzu loves your content, and would love to be on your channel as a guest star!
Rakshasas remind me of the sheriff of Nottingham from the Disney version. Pulling coins out of that poor kids cast
You know who's great. Vincent Trench from Dragon Heist. Good Kitty
YessSs my players met one around level 8 and befriended him freed from his prison named him Garfield,There level 18 now they love him and someone became his warlock.
Break Ends 17:20
I was wandering when this would get covered
using their backs as stepping stones i think
I'm hearing potential Warlock patron
if you use variant teifling you can make a Rakshasa teifling that looks almost like a tiger tabaxi but with a third eye and can’t cast a shadow
It has to be a blessed crossbow bolt to kill them.

I would like to see in as an antiques shop owner and the items for sale are trophies from his quarry and conquests
The phrase is ”Stepping stones”
Quite the catty creature
Yeah I figured I wouldn't beat you here. I'll make a pun later, I'm busy now. Also hope your day is going well swagger.
Ok, time to TIE-ger up a lose end and make my pun.
Glad to see a tiger like you never changes its stripes
@@mcswaggerduff8946 indeed! I love making puns. I do it for the fun of it, not to *panther* to the masses.
I'd be lion if I said the mane reason I missed this was in purrpose
crouching tiger hidden silver dragon
Rakshashas on youtube skip the ads and short rest.
12:00 Smoking a pipe, forever plotting the perfect plan for revenge...
How does a warlock deal with fighting these things
In the clone wars, obi wan *does* fight several Mandalorians.
And he loses, badly
🔥🖤🔥
I'd say just use the bless spell.
Where is the lore that a blessed bolt permanently kills them, coming from? It just kills them instantly, not permanently, according to the source books.
I thought rakshada were fallen deva.
P.S. Your wife is cheating on you with a Rakshasa.
