Matiang'i defends appointment of acting Moi University VC Prof Laban Ayiro

Education Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i, defended his appointment of Prof Laban Ayiro as the Acting Vice Chancellor (VC) of Moi University, saying that he followed the law in the appointment.
The CS wants those criticizing his decision to step up and prove in law that he went against any legal framework. According to Matiang'i, the process of recruiting a new VC for Moi University is underway and therefore he had no option but appoint a VC in an acting capacity after the term of the current VC, Prof. Richard Mibey, expired on Monday this week.
