Albanese government ‘well behind’ Coalition in new polling

The Australian’s National editor Dennis Shanahan says the Albanese government is “well behind” the Coalition in the latest Freshwater poll.
“The issues of immigration and asylum seekers, national security … all of these measures have gone down for Labor and up for the Coalition since the last poll,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“What we are seeing is the government is trying to say look away, don’t look here nothing happened, but Peter Dutton has hit a responsive nerve amongst the public.
“I think it's beginning to cut through and that the freshwater poll demonstrates that Labor is going backwards on that issue.”
