  • Sky News host Paul Murray has broken down the five things Australians learnt from the Voice to Parliament’s defeat.
The Indigenous Voice was emphatically rejected by a majority of voters in every state and territory except the Australian Capital Territory.
The arrogance of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the media’s refusal to listen to Australians and the accuracy of the polls were among the things that Australians learned from the referendum, according to Mr Murray.
The Sky News host also noted that the Voice does not mean a huge amount for the next federal election, but it “doesn’t mean nothing”.
“For the left, democracy only works when you win,” Mr Murray identified as the final thing Australians learnt from the Voice referendum.

Why is there a box to tick if i'm Aboriginal or Tores Strait Islander? They are treated better already than everyone else. To close the gap they need to remove those boxes and treat them the same as everyone else. There is a gap because there is resentment we don't get treated fairly. They always give more which creates even more resentment. But they remove all benifits and give what they give to the Average Australian. Everyone will be happier.

Oh come on Paul, the main reason the Referendum was sunk before polling day was Australians saw it for what it truly was: a perpetual money and land grab! When the details weren't made public that's when most Australians smelled a rat. Still well done, a brilliant analysis! Treat the Australian people like fools and you will lose every time! And the ALP has done much more than the LNP ever did to push prices down - those free market ideologues on the opposition benches would be happy for market-forces to keep pushing up prices, and they wouldn't have been fighting for higher minimum wages either.. The LNP were in power for 9 years and pushed back against any kind of policy to service domestic gas needs first. We have a constitution, the Labor party appears to be pretending that it doesn't exist.
If that treaty is signed, it overrules the constitution.
I was deeply concerned that we had the Voice with all the costs and divisiveness and little mention of the actual problems, but this treaty is extremely worrying, in that the government can agree to hand over power to a foreign entity that we have not voted for, who would be above the law.

The constitution is deliberately vague about pretty much everything. The detail doesn't go there - it's meant to be an indicative document. The real power of implementing the constitution goes to Parliament, and the detail is in whatever legislation the government of the day puts up. He didnt release any details because he was fully aware that it would have a major affect on the mining industry who would have came for him hard and ruin our base economy. So he knew if he played it like this knowing it would never get up. Australians were never going to agree to constitutional change without detail. The NO vote was really people saying we want more detail. The whole thing divided us and it shouldn't have, it had nothing to do with racism. All that money they used could have been used to help the indigenous community's that need it, I stand with Jacinta she summed it up perfectly. We won't vote blindly we want to know the details the facts etc. I am a proud Australian who loves our rich Indigenous history. I don't see color when I look at someone. I look at who that person is inside not outside {skin/race). The government failed to give detail and in so doing I feel actually disrespected the needs of those community's. THEY DIDN'T LISTEN, If you didn't agree with them then you were accused of being a racist instead. I am behind Jacinta Price who voiced our concern's.

The PM accidentally and unwittingly turned Jacinta Price into a Superstar - (she is one but we never knew it until this campaign) Albo let us see what great things there are in Australian Indigenous politics yes Jacinta - what success stories, what heroes there are to be seen and heard -Jacinta. We now know Jacinta and we respect her and her utter composure through all of this - through the racist attacks on her and her family, the racist attacks at hers and Warren Mundine meetings... her strength her easy communication of common sense ......yes we saw the RACIST ACTIVISTS and they voted YES ..

Everything Albo did was to put them in the position they are now where they can blame Dutton. They talk about politicising this thing, it was Labor that politicised it immediately he announced it on election night. They have continually tried to drive a wedge with the opposition. They seriously thought it would just get waved through, and then Albo would bathed in the glory of winning with no bipartisan support, now it’s failed, it’s Duttons fault

Albo's looking/sounding more & more like a glass jawed version of Mr Magoo as he gets on in the job.
    As for a conviction politician:
If he was then he'd have addressed all the other, now broken, pre-election issues. But he didn't.
As for the post referendum loss blame shifting:
That was a always going to happen. That's the nature of Albo. He'll NEVER own his 'mis-doings'! Ever! Doesn't have the humility or respect for it. That's just the truth.
As for the rounding on Mundine clip:
What a bias disgrace that was by the presenter threatening to cut Mundine off. She wouldn't have been so 'gungho' if she was white. And that's just the truth too.
Langton didn't accuse Australians of being racist? YES she did. When was it?2019? Does that get denied, or, 'taken out of context now'? We all saw the footage. But,... gasp,... we can't say that now because...well....it was Marcia Langton wasn't it & you can't say anything against her! No no!

I watched a disgusting interview on National television were Thomas Mayo blamed what he said were the disgusting lies of No Campaign politicians. Well Thomas let me say the only people to blame is the way your people behaved during the totally bias part the ABC played in the Yes Campaign. Not one of the Indigenous people or their supporters who were interviewed or gave statements smiled but instead showed complete contempt for Non-Indigenous Australian people of all races. If I noticed this so would a lot of other Australians. Not once during the entire campaign did anyone from the Yes camp say this is good for all Australians and explain why, all that was said was this will be good for Indigenous people.
