Faruqi's colleague Larissa Waters asks Senate president Sue Lines to order Hanson to withdraw the comment made on Monday and apologise for what she calls 'repugnant' and 'despicable' race-based personal remarks against Faruqi, who was born in Pakistan.
'Senator Hanson needs to withdraw these remarks and apologise unconditionally,' Waters says. Sue Lines makes several attempts to get Hanson to withdraw her comments but eventually she withdraws the call and shuts off the senator's microphone.
