I'm not going to pretend I knew what was going to happen in this game, but as soon as the Jags scored their first TD, I turned to my friend and said "watch the Chargers pull a Charger"... We both were doubled over laughing at the beautiful sight we witnessed thereafter. Never change, Chargers. Never change. 🤣😂
@@CJEstradaMartinez My friend was also pulling for the Jags, he watches some of Tree's vids so we both kind of had Tree in mind while we were watching the proceedings. The Chargers really are a beautiful organization. All that talent just to play all starters in the final game, induce injury, and then bring chargers fans that close to a playoff win only to hulk smash them into oblivion with (nearly, Thanks Atlanta.) unrivaled self destruction is the stuff of legend.
They would only disappoint if they failed to disappoint. Therefore they never disappoint by always disappointing. Somehow they manage to both disappoint and not disappoint simultaneously in perfect harmony. That is the essence of the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers.
And now, less than a day later, Staley and Telesco are gone. Should have fired them after this game, Chargers! Would have saved yourselves a year of agony.
In ways this is worse than 28-3. Despite the collapse, Atlanta at least got a Division and Conference Championship out of it. The Chargers don't even get those.
Yes, indeed, the Chargers offense decided to say at halftime, "I have an idea! Let's leave!" And then they proceeded to leave all over the field during the second half. Truly one of the football teams of all time.
12/15/23: Staley has finally been fired after a historic meltdown at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders. This is a sad day... for fans of the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos.
If Staley had let the time run out, Chargers and Raiders would've made the playoffs last year. Steelers would've been eliminated due to head to head, meaning they lost to the the two.
As a Chargers fan, I honestly have never been more embarrassed to cheer for this team. Even when they were up 27-0, there was still some doubt in my mind the Chargers would choke it away and they did. The Jaguars earned this victory fair and square and honestly, good for them. Good for Trevor Lawrence for overcoming 4 interceptions. But this loss has to be the worst loss in Chargers history. Brandon Staley and OC Joe Lombardi should be gone by the time the wild card round ends, but Dean Spanos is too cheap to make a big splash in terms of hiring a head coach. He could’ve had Brian Daboll or even Doug Pederson after Anthony Lynn was gone but noooooooo. He wanted the Chargers to imitate big brother Rams and take their defensive coordinator and make him Sean McVay 2.0. If Staley and Lombardi stay after this blunder, I don’t know if I can see myself cheering for this team next year. I’m sorry, but seeing this team build me up with hope only to spit in my face in a big game is straight-up frustrating. Great video as always Tree.
yep, as along time fan I was worried the entire game that they would blow it. Stupid play calls, defense being clueless on how to cover the field. Herbert airmailing open receivers. Sailing passes 5 feet over their heads.
Just cheer for Herbert. The moment he finally gets a REAL OC/play caller guiding him and talent that will make him look good, he is going to do what he was meant to do. And that is not go for checkdowns to Ekeler or toss 8 yard shallow routes to Keenan Allen on 3rd and 10 situations.
You Chargers fans need to show Spanos how you feel by not going to SoFi let the fans of whomever they play take over SoFi. Don't watch them on tv or listen on the radio, the less you give Spanos attention he'll get the message.
@@ladyfire44 lmao. 100%. If it weren’t for the Rams winning it all last year and the Cowboys winning on Monday, Stan Kroenke and Jerry Jones would be with Snyder and Spano as well.
You can't put a coach on the hot seat because of one game. That's asinine. With that said, I've been calling for Staley to be fired (if I were a Chargers fan) since last year. All his "analytics" play are just that. Numbers. They're not truly indicative of actual, real life scenarios and he's been bailed out by lucky situations so many times in spite of these analytics moves.

Now imagine this epic collapse happening but Brandon Staley actually DID rest his starters That would've honestly made this loss a lot more worse than it already is
Maybe but Staley would still follow his process anyway and find a way to his demise. I'm not a huge fan of defensive coaches who play 'prevent' defense after having built a lead in halftime in the playoffs. Especially when on offense you have a great young QB. And you still have him throwing behind the sticks and leaving him on 3rd and long situations.

It's been 60 years since the Chargers won any kind of championship (1963 AFL Championship). This would be a great team to revive the Legacy of Failure series. They're not going anywhere with Spanos running this franchise to the ground while wasting the talents of Justin Herbert. Also in before they pull a Tampa Bay Lightning and win the next two super bowls because the football gods have a sick sense of humor. Edit: 60 years because I can't count to 5.
Special mention should go to them having a chance at not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR quarterbacks that wound up winning Super Bowls with a different team I'm counting Peyton Manning because, allegedly, right before that draft, Ryan Leaf was talking shit about the Colts, which prompted them to take Peyton. I say "allegedly" because I remember seeing something about Ryan's shit-talking a few years ago, but I could 100% be wrong about this. Drew Brees WAS looking good for them until he fucked up his shoulder, then they let him go to New Orleans They drafted Eli before THAT trade happened ...while Ben fucking Roethlisberger was available. After 2004 it went as follows 2005: Ben wins Super Bowl 2006: Peyton wins Super Bowl 2007: Eli wins Super Bowl 2008: Ben wins another Super Bowl 2009: Peyton VS Brees Super Bowl (Brees won) 2010: none of them win, but that's also the year of infamously dogshit Special Teams singlehandedly keeping the Chargers out of the playoffs 2011: Eli wins another Super Bowl 2015: Peyton wins another Super Bowl with division rival Denver. Really, the last 30 years alone is adequate pain for Legacy of Failure, but I'm rambling at this point.

Seeing the Charger lightning bolt superimposed over the win probability graph made me howl with laughter!
Me too. That was genius! 🤣🤣
Some of us still haven't stopped calling them "San Diego" and this game certainly isn't going to change that.
I call them just the Chargers. LA doesn't want them, SD would want them if Spanos sells the team.
You can take the Chargers out of San Diego but you can't take the San Diego out of the Chargers.
No matter what Spanos does, everyone will always see the Chargers as San Diego's team. The Battle for LA is a joke. Raiders should've been in LA. They were LA's team aside the Rams.
@@ladyfire44 They should have just found a way to get Raiders into LA alone and not torched two markets for no reason other than ‘Stan’s wife has allot of money’
Facts.... I stay calling them San Diego
As a Seahawks fan, I'm going: "At least we took the lead over the 49ers _twice_ in our game and didn't choke like the Chargers did!"
Still lost don’t matter
I guess someone should have told the Seahawks that a football game is 4 quarters.
@@jtreginald3620 Could say the same for the Chargers. How many points did they score in the 2nd half again? 3?
You had a 1 pt lead at the half thanks to a dumb penalty and got pummeled in the second half.
As a chargers fan this soothes the pain a little bit, thanks tree
stop being one please thank you 🙏
Im with you as a Chargers fan. That loss was just pain.
I gotta admit, I'm impressed the Chargers keep finding new ways to out do themselves. But in all seriousness, as an Eagles fan, I'm very proud of Doug Peterson turning that team around.
You'll be seeing the giants this week
I'm proud of them dumpstering the viqueens
Packers fan btw
I wait for this every time a team plays a playoff game
W
I wait for this everytime the Chargers Charge a playoff game
@@MaXiMoS54 once every 4-5 years tho
I'm not going to pretend I knew what was going to happen in this game, but as soon as the Jags scored their first TD, I turned to my friend and said "watch the Chargers pull a Charger"... We both were doubled over laughing at the beautiful sight we witnessed thereafter. Never change, Chargers. Never change. 🤣😂
That sounds like a line Tree would use. He called out the NY Jets after they cut RB Le'Veon Bell in 2020.
The Chargers never fail to disappoint
They would only disappoint if they failed to disappoint. Therefore they never disappoint by always disappointing. Somehow they manage to both disappoint and not disappoint simultaneously in perfect harmony. That is the essence of the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers.
They never fail to fail.
The only thing they don’t fail at
Been that way for around 60 years now.
Of all the Chargers moments there have ever been, this is ABSOLUTELY one of them.
As a chargers fan I knew something wasn’t right when we were up 27
@Endr exactly bro
Yeah same, I even called it when it was 27-7.
I knew that this moment would come. The Chargers can't help but be who they are.
Spanos eternally screwed them over.
Finally. The start of the "Congrats _____!" videos for this post-season has begun
We should thank the Chargers for providing this content.
And it ends with the magic words
There now needs to be a "Congrats Vikings" 2023
The Jaguars half time talk was simply : “Don’t worry, it’s the Chargers. They’ll screw it up.”
We're gonna have a "Congrats, Chargers!" every year at this rate
For the Rams, it was a brutal year of injuries and everything under the sun going wrong.
Yet somehow, it’s better than being the Chargers right now
Rams recently won the Superbowl so at least they had that there's no comparison
congrats to the chargers on their new head coach
Say it with me everyone:
"YOU BLEW IT!!!"
DON'T. GET. ELI-
Oh wait sorry wrong video
Oh, I thought you were going to talk about Spanos.
Kramer: "You blew it, boy. You really blew it."
FU SPANOS!
"You had it all and you blew it!"
Here after the Chargers got eliminated in Week 16, this aged perfectly.
Hey now, the Chargers aren’t entirely bad. They drafted a Super Bowl winning QB… he just won it for a different team.
😁
Which one are we talking about, Drew Brees or Eli Manning?
Yes
The world would spontaneously combust if the Chargers and Falcons both reached a Super Bowl.
When the Chargers said "Let's blow it" and blew a 27 point lead, it was one of the Chargers moments in history
This aged perfectly after the Chargers gave up 63 points to the Raiders of all teams😂
And now, less than a day later, Staley and Telesco are gone. Should have fired them after this game, Chargers! Would have saved yourselves a year of agony.
Trying to out Falcon the Falcons?
😂 Pure Gold.
This is nothing compared to blowing a SB like the Falcons did. Nobody will remember this game in a few years
In ways this is worse than 28-3. Despite the collapse, Atlanta at least got a Division and Conference Championship out of it. The Chargers don't even get those.
They were playing 2nd fiddle to the Chiefs all season.
Facts.
This is one of the charger games of all time.
Remember guys, if Staley didn’t call a timeout during the raiders game last year the chargers would’ve made the playoffs.
But then we would have been denied seeing CFF:LoM one last time.
Thats not even true.... Raiders getting 8 yards did. Raiders were still running a play there
@@roosterchains The Raiders were going to take knee and let the clock run out.
If Staley had let the time run out, Chargers and Raiders would've made the playoffs last year. Steelers would've been eliminated due to head to head, meaning they lost to the the two.
I hate this narrative. The Raiders were not going to waste an opportunity to eliminate their division rival at literally no risk to themselves.
He and Dan Snyder are drinking buddies
You Chargers fans need to show Spanos how you feel by not going to SoFi let the fans of whomever they play take over SoFi. Don't watch them on tv or listen on the radio, the less you give Spanos attention he'll get the message.
@@ladyfire44 lmao. 100%. If it weren’t for the Rams winning it all last year and the Cowboys winning on Monday, Stan Kroenke and Jerry Jones would be with Snyder and Spano as well.
If Brandon Staley isn't fired or at LEAST on the hot seat after this game I would be incredibly surprised
Don’t be. So many teams would rather just stick their heads in the sand and pretend everything is fine. See Dan Quinn and Bill O’Brien
@@analyticalstarscream5299 Yet they were fired. They have plenty of money. Surely they aren't that dumb.
He needed to be fired yesterday
You can't put a coach on the hot seat because of one game. That's asinine. With that said, I've been calling for Staley to be fired (if I were a Chargers fan) since last year. All his "analytics" play are just that. Numbers. They're not truly indicative of actual, real life scenarios and he's been bailed out by lucky situations so many times in spite of these analytics moves.
@@anonymousperson3023 what I meant was that I feel like this game should be the breaking point. He's been bad for a while but this game just capped it off
Now imagine this epic collapse happening but Brandon Staley actually DID rest his starters
That would've honestly made this loss a lot more worse than it already is
But it wouldn't have been squarely Staley's fault.
@@aceroy9195 even if the team was fully healthy?
Maybe but Staley would still follow his process anyway and find a way to his demise. I'm not a huge fan of defensive coaches who play 'prevent' defense after having built a lead in halftime in the playoffs. Especially when on offense you have a great young QB. And you still have him throwing behind the sticks and leaving him on 3rd and long situations.
The new Chargers logo...a fusion of The Chargers and Falcons logo! 😅🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂
That's funnier than the "Choking Hazard" label attached to this video.
LMFAO!
Love you dude; been watching this channel for years now and I'll probably never meet you but your vids are something I always look forward to. Sorry about your loss of a friend and hope you carry on bro.
The moment I saw the kick go up as time expired, I heard both Adam Sandler screaming and Tree madly laughing in the back of my head.
When you've been a Chargers fan for long enough, it doesn't surprise you how this game turned out but it still doesn't make it hurt any less 😔
2:57...dammit, Tree!! Get that ugly bolt off my Dirty Bird!!!! 😠😠🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a Chargers fan, I approve this message, thanks Tree.
I feel so bad for Herbert. He deserves so much more than this team effort.
This is certainly one of the blown leads of all time
It makes me forget 28-3 in SB 51
@@THERSC216 I forgot about the 24-7 lead by the Houston Texans against the Kansas City Chiefs during their wildcard playoff match.
This is the most Chargers thing ever... and that's saying something.

The Chargers imploding leading to an "Eff you, Spanos" video from Tree
Some things truly are inevitable
Easily one of Trees most vicious tear downs of a team
He needs to Spanos ruined the franchise by moving them to LA. Yeah it helped their value grow but they are a joke.....as pathetic as opponents like the Browns, Cardinals, Falcons are....their fans pack SoFi when they play the Chargers. He needs to just sell the team to an owner who will move them back to SD and build a quality stadium that can host the Chargers and a Super Bowl.
You should hear his disembowelment of the Tampa Bay Lightning after their first-round collapse in the 2019 playoffs. That was hilarious savagery at its best.
Former SD Chargers fan here. Lost it at the logo superimposed on the Win% chart. Great stuff.
in an alternate reality the rams stayed in st. louis, the chargers stayed in san diego, the raiders moved back to l.a., and all three teams have a new super bowl ring
Right?
While the game was won on horrible calls by the ref, the chargers should have never been in the playoffs. With all the injuries while they were 6-6 and they had like a 15% chance of getting in.
Weak schedule to end the year. That's how they made it.
As a Chargers fan, I accept everything that you have said. I also used to be that kid who thought he was going to be accepted by everyone only to have them laugh behind my back and make fun of me…
I can have no fun with my sports teams. I am also a Clippers fan cause I didn’t want to be a douche Lakers fan… when will the penance stop
I feel your pain. Except I dont do basketball.
I used to be big with sportsball overall as a youngn' but as I got older, I stopped putting faith on these hoes. I like Herbert as a talent and I want to see him ball out. Fuck he balled out even when Oregon's offense was nonexistent. But I'm not gonna fool myself or drink the Koolaid he'll succeed with a coaching staff whose best idea of using him is Drew Brees 2.0.
Your pain appears to be eternal n FOREVER n yes EXTREMELY PAINFUL
Your the afc version of Detroit
I would say Your future is SCREWED because Mahomes has 15 years to go UNTIL RETIREMENT
I WOULD feel for you but your owner is a COMPLETE greedy DOUCHE in Spanos so instead I have to mock you
The sports gods demand that no team that leaves SD for LA shall have a trophy. You are waiting on the padres to break the curse of your irrelevant and backstabbing franchises. Good luck.
Anybody else here after the Chargers finally fired Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco?
Me
It's been 60 years since the Chargers won any kind of championship (1963 AFL Championship).
Special mention should go to them having a chance at not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR quarterbacks that wound up winning Super Bowls with a different team
I'm counting Peyton Manning because, allegedly, right before that draft, Ryan Leaf was talking shit about the Colts, which prompted them to take Peyton. I say "allegedly" because I remember seeing something about Ryan's shit-talking a few years ago, but I could 100% be wrong about this.
Drew Brees WAS looking good for them until he fucked up his shoulder, then they let him go to New Orleans
They drafted Eli before THAT trade happened
...while Ben fucking Roethlisberger was available.
After 2004 it went as follows
2005: Ben wins Super Bowl
2006: Peyton wins Super Bowl
2007: Eli wins Super Bowl
2008: Ben wins another Super Bowl
2009: Peyton VS Brees Super Bowl (Brees won)
2010: none of them win, but that's also the year of infamously dogshit Special Teams singlehandedly keeping the Chargers out of the playoffs
2011: Eli wins another Super Bowl
2015: Peyton wins another Super Bowl with division rival Denver.
Really, the last 30 years alone is adequate pain for Legacy of Failure, but I'm rambling at this point.
to quote Count Dooku 'I've been looking forward to this'
I hate being a chargers fan, fire Staley and bring in Sean Payton. Firing Joe Lombardi wasn’t enough. Fuck Dean Spanos we never should have left San Diego. Justin Herbert would be San Diego’s hero if we were there still.
Edit: Payton’s going to Denver, sell the team Spanos.
I’ve been waiting for the past 12 hours for this kind of video!! It’s not a Chargers video without the quote “**** you Spanos!”
Ive been waiting all year for these playoff elimination congrats videos
2:51 It's funny, the Clippers have the abbreviation "LAC". The Chargers have the same abbreviation in the NFL. "The Clippers of the NFL", indeed.
And both teams used to play in San Diego
