Beautiful Kalle - looks so good on you! I always learn helpful tips from you. Also appreciate seeing you construct the placket - plackets intimidate me ❤️
I’m watching this at 4 in the morning because I can’t sleep. I have the sound off to not wake hubby but this video was so well done I feel as if I could make this lovely shirt based on your filming, which was excellent! I don’t care how long your videos are, I will watch them all 👍💕
Oh. My. Goodness! Thank you so much! I really try to take the mystery out of sewing so it is less intimidating. I am working on my filming skills. The sewing is easier. 😅
Great video. I would make lots of sewing puns, just to keep you in stitches, but I will refrain. I learned several things watching this. Your attention to detail and explaining the detail is awesome. I liked seeing the bias bound seams and hems. That turned out very nice. I need to try that sometime. I have done bias bound collars but not seams. I also like your banter with yourself about what to do next. It makes the videos really feel like "I am a person sewing" rather than "I am an actor making a video."
Thank you! I cut out so much of my conversations with myself. I am definitely a person who sews and wants to share. The film side is still a work in progress. The sewing community is lovely and the best part of making videos. I look forward to hearing what your next project is!
I’m almost finished with McCalls 6044. My first shirt. I was making it for my husband but it’s too small for him but fits me. Boy it’s been a learning process. Plackets, collar, collar stand, cuffs 😩. I have to put on buttons and hem and I’m done. Wow. I need a break. Thank you for your tutorial. Getting to know my new Bernina 770 QE plus. Your shirt is adorable
Dimples, that is great! There is so much to a button-down shirt. It only seems fair you get to wear your first one. Don't you love doing buttonholes on your machine? I really want to do a traditional button-down this fall.
@@stacyrobbinsI’ve never done buttonholes I don’t think. I took a tailoring class back in the 90’s and made a suit . Jacket with 22 inch zip and skirt. Wish me luck on the buttonholes. I’m sure my Bernina will probably do it for me 🤣
So excited, just discovered your channel, whilst sewing the Atelier Jupe Tilde maxi dress, enjoyed watching you working on the Kalle, I adore this pattern, have made so many versions, shaped the side-seam slightly at the waist and straightened the hem. Your shirt is stunning, is it a Tessuti pattern?
I am glad we get to sew together! You know I had to go look up the Atelier pattern and it is so CUTE! I love a shirtwaist dress. Another company I didn't know about. Thank you! The Kalle shirt is from Closet Core. My video this week is a spotlight on a few Indie pattern companies. I have found even more after getting some great suggestions in the comments.
Really well done tutorial! I almost feel like I can tackle a button front shirt now. Almost...I may need one more tutorial from you. 😋 Question on the yoke. If you wanted both cut on the bias, could you do that if one (or both??) was lightly interfaced to stabilize it or would you still recommend not cutting both inner and outer on the bias?

Thank you! Plackets are intimidating. That is why I spent so much time on this one. 🧵

@@dimples7334 It does a great job of exact buttonholes with the memory foot. Good luck, you are in the home stretch!

Excellent tutorial, thank you! 😊
Thank you! 💙 I think I will do something less complicated next week.
Yes it looks awesome with the belt
Thanks! I often prefer a little waist definition.
It looks great on you!!!!❤
Thank you!
That turned out so cute! I love the Chambray stripe. I love it with the white pants too! Also, Iove your sandals! Where are those from?
Thank you! It is my new favorite outfit for spring. I got the shoes from Amazon. They are cheapies. 😅amzn.to/3VMgLCm

Thank you! I would love to know when tackle shirt making and how it goes. Thanks for watching. 💙
What are you ironing on? It's brown
They are Teflon pressing sheets. I think they are linked in my Amazon shop.
