I’m about the same size & shape as you, this has convinced me to purchase "laundry day" pattern. So nice to see a pattern on a similar body to mine, thanks so much.
I am so glad this was helpful. I like to see patterns make on real bodies. One of the reasons I like the independent pattern makers. They design for real people and their models show that. Thank you stopping by my channel!
Ou look gorgeous in all three. Favourite is the black floral fabric and the cut of the savannah is so nice with the extra feminine neckline and hemline.
Good choice. That black floral fabric it gorgeous. The Laundry Day Tee looks like it fits you just a bit better. It is a tiny bit shorter in the back and I think that is more flattering. I am a big Love Notions fan. I enjoy their fit. I struggle with the same narrow shoulders with hips 2 sizes bigger. I really enjoyed the fact that you discussed those issues. The struggle is real.
Thank you, Irene. I try to discuss all the fit issues and changes. I know it drives many to learn to sew and then frustrates when in the throws of figuring it all out.
Laundry day is such a wonderful fit for you! That last laundry day shirt at the end of video is stunning! You have a talent in seeing the right fabric for the pattern and the skill in sewing! Thank you for sharing!!
I LOVE the Mood panel fabric t-shirt! The laundry day tee is one of my favorites; I've made it at least 10 times in many variations. It was really useful to see the two similar patterns but with important fitting differences. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos this year. Happy New Sewing Year!
Thank you! The Fabric was inspirational to me (and on sale!). The Laundry day is the clear winner. I will be making more Savannah, love that neckline and full hem. I need to go up a size. It is so nice finding patterns that can me made over and over. I will have ten soon too! Happy New Year!
Love the challenge of a border print. Really like how you added the band to the sleeve hem. I really like Love Notions sleeves and put them on other patterns-so much easier than doing a full bicep adjustment.
Such a stunning black floral top! The band you added to the sleeve instead of a regular hem was inspired. Thanks for doing a comparison of the two patterns. Interesting. Both looked pretty, but I think wearing the longer skirted one would probably annoy me because it would need to be managed when sitting so as not to allow it to become bunched in an uncomfortable position. That’s the main drawback to dresses and skirts in my opinion.😊 I have long preferred to wear pants if I can find comfortable ones.😂
Thank you! The Savannah has an option for a much shorter front. It would probably be more comfortable for you. I am the opposite as I am a dress gal whenever possible. 😅 A good fitting pant is a dream though. I love the Mountain View jean right now. It is my go to pant pattern.
That material is stunning !!! You more than did it justus !!! I have seen the laundry day tee... it fit my body n shoulders nicely but too tight on my bicepts... I researched how to do that but haven't made another...since then I believe Love Notions have adjusted that pattern... I love Sonia Estep Designs n have many of her patterns... I actually passed over the Savanah because I had the laundry day... you have clearly shown the difference in garments that basically look the same wow !!! The black one is gorgeous on you n the way you used the designs is very flattering n unique... well done !!!🎉
Thank you! That floral fabric was inspirational to me. I like both patterns and need to do the Savannah again in the right size for me. Both are great pattern companies and I appreciate the size range they offer.
Oh the problem with not having a standard body shape!! I love the patterns but I don't know how to pick, because both of them are so nice! Happy New Year
Oh that's a tough one! I like them both! I think the laundry day tee. Oh you went with that one too. 😂 You always find the prettiest fabric! That looks amazing! Wow!! Looks like an expensive designer shirt. Love it, Love it! And its so flattering. Bravo. Also, love your hair!
Renee, Thank you! The fabric was designer deadstock and it shows. I went a bit shorter on my hair for winter since I am not swimming and wearing it up. I have an amazing stylist she gets all the credit.
My vote goes to the Laundry Day pattern; tight sleeves and tight armholes are a real annoyance to me. The blue/white fabric is so pretty, but the fit would be a deal breaker for me. One of the many things about aging that changes how my clothes fit is the flabby upper arms. It's just a thing that happens to all of us unless we weigh 95 lbs. I'm still drop-jawed at the black panel print. It looks like a very high dollar tee you'd find only in fancy boutique stores. I've never done one because I get spooked by the very issue you address of placement of the borders. Thanks for another very interesting video; the side-by-side comparison of the 2 patterns was a great idea. Happy New Year from Norman!!!
The Laundry was the clear winner this go-round. Mostly because I should have gone up a size in the Savannah. The black floral was a designer deadstock I got on sale and have been so happy with it. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Happy New Year, I hope you are staying warm.
My mom liked the elbow length too. I often altered her sleeves to that length. I have been wearing the blue top a lot and find it doesn't bother me like I expected.
Interesting vlog. I have several LDT dresses and love them. You made the right choice for your body. I haven’t. Are Add a SE pattern yet but will soon. Your black panel dress was so very nice.
Barbara, thank you for stopping by and commenting. I think both companies are wonderful. Size inclusive, good instructions, great design for real bodies... They are filling a much needed void for us sewists.
The Laundry Day has been the winner, I and I agreed in this case! I want to revisit Savannah going up one size though. I have been wearing both. Great patterns!
P.S. Sorry, this is off topic, but I have a very hard time finding glasses that suit me, and I just love your frames. Could you share the designer/manufacture/name and/or number etc of the frames? Thx
Yes! That is one of the great thing about having options like this. One will likely be a better fit. I am going to the the Savannah again but go up one size. I love the neckline and full hem on it. The laundry day will be my go to for all my basic tees. It just fits my shape so well.

I think the Laundry Day shirt fits a bit better, but both are very nice. The Savannah is a bit bunchy in the back. Have a happy new year.
Brad, I agree. I will be making the Savannah again but going up a size (or two). Happy New Year to you!

Thank you! This was a fin one for me. When I found the floral panel fabric I knew I had to do something with it.

I agree with your choice of the Laundry Day tee. The floral fabric is gorgeous!
Thank you! 💕🧵
Love the challenge of a border print. Really like how you added the band to the sleeve hem. I really like Love Notions sleeves and put them on other patterns-so much easier than doing a full bicep adjustment.
Thank you! That is a great idea to adapt your favorite sleeve to other patterns.
You did a fabulous job with the floral fabric….so flattering on you! Well done!
Thank you so much! Lovely fabric makes a project so much better. 💕

@stacyrobbins i agree... I nearly own all of each of those pattern companies patterns...
Oh the problem with not having a standard body shape!! I love the patterns but I don't know how to pick, because both of them are so nice! Happy New Year
I agree on all points! I love both 💕 I think I found the fabric in my stash to make the Savannah again going up a size.
Stacey it turned out so BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Cindy!
I got the laundry day t pattern when it first came out and it’s still my favorite!❤️
I had heard so many talking about that I had to give it a try. It is my go to now.

I love all tops, my favorite is the black floral! Beautiful
Sally, I agree. I have been wearing all three tops so much. The black is my favorite too. 💕
Hello and thanks so much for the comparison. I happen to like the "elbow" length but I can see how it would be irritating for some though.
My mom liked the elbow length too. I often altered her sleeves to that length. I have been wearing the blue top a lot and find it doesn't bother me like I expected.
So beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊

You made all the right choices. Perfection. Fabulous fitting with awesome fabric. Truly lovely garment.Happy New Year Stacey.
Thank you so much! Happy New Year to you!
OMG what a gorgeous print and it looks wonderful on you!!!
Thank you! It was a designer deadstock and I got it on sale. Double win!
Very cute! Good choice with the LD TEE.
Thank you! 🌺
Laundry day for t shirt. Light blue would be a great dress with lengthening of course
Yes, both are winners in their own ways. I am making the savannah again but going up a size. Searching for the next perfect fabric for it.
Love the black floral tee! This video motivates me to practice with panels!
YaY! I would love to know when you make a panel project.
I think Laundry day suits you better. Lovely tops, and great pattern placement.
Thank you! It was a fun exercise comparing the patterns.
I like the Savanah
Cindy, It is so cute! I love that neckline and fuller skirt. I may have found the fabric to make it again but I will be going up a size or two.
It's beautiful ♥
Thank you! 💕
You look great in both patterns.
Thank you!
I would use the love notions laundry day tee💐
It is the winner so far in the comments!
I like the dark one best... I think it's Laundry Day
Thank you!
The Savanah is more flattering ❤
I will be making the Savannah again (going up a size).
I like the dark blue one on you - Laundry Day. The other doesn’t fit as well.
Thx
My glasses are Dolce Gabbana. They have a little gold DG on the side. My husband calls them my Dollar General glasses. 😅
@@stacyrobbinsThanks
I would make the Love Notions strictly because I like the sleeve and back fit of it better than the Sonia.
Yes! That is one of the great thing about having options like this. One will likely be a better fit. I am going to the the Savannah again but go up one size. I love the neckline and full hem on it. The laundry day will be my go to for all my basic tees. It just fits my shape so well.
@@stacyrobbins that's what I'd do, go up one size in the shoulder/bodice area, then I think it'd work great.
Laundry pattern I thought looked best.
Thank you for commenting. I obviously agreed with you!
I agree with The Laundry Day pattern. It fits so nice and the back looks better.
Oh my GOSH I LOVE IT
Lovin that haircut too
Laundry Day Tee
Thank you for voting!
Laundry day tee
It's the clear favorite this go-round.
I think the ‘Laundry Day’ is more complementary on you.
Thank you for voting!
👏🏻👍🏼❤
The laundry day , the sleeves on the savanna seem too tight.
Yes, I will be making the Savannah again and going up a size. I love both patterns but need to make the right size. 😅
The Savanna is too small in theupper torso.
Yes, I will be making again but going up a size. I really like the pattern.
