Hi Sam , loving your fabrics and your pattern choices . Thankyou for sharing your thought process behind matching fabrics to patterns as I find this especially difficult with online fabric shopping . Looking forward to seeing your final makes - happy sewing
With your burgundy fabric you could do the cowl neck Dawson t-shirt in a long sleeve, if it has enough stretch. Or a heather sweater. Whatever you choose it will be beautiful! I recently made a heather from an old blanket, adding stretch rib for the neck and cuffs. I did make the neckline a bit bigger because the blanket doesn't have any stretch. It's lovely to wear
Good to see you today! We’re inside today as we’ve had our first ice/snow storm last night and today! Not that we were going anywhere anyway; I’m making a list of my fabric stash items and their state (washed or unwashed), a list of items to alter or upcycle, etc while watching football playoffs. A well rounded wife huh?!!!
Thanks Sam , your enthusiasm has got me thinking about my future makes. If you are considering making the Estuary skirt, you might want to use the Ruby skirt pattern from Sew OverIt. This is a great free pattern which is very similar to the Estuary .
Thanks for the shout out Sam & the lovely compliment. The ElIie & Mac romper has small pockets. I made my own pockets that are deeper and sew into the waistband to reduce them bunching up I love the needlecord, look forward to seeing what you make with it 🤩
For your tartan multicoloured fabric, you could do a Helen's closet wildwood. I may make something in that pattern soon because it looks really interesting how it's adjustable how you actually sew it together
Hi Sam, Great fabrics and pattern choices! I've made the Styla Reine before it's a really nice top although it comes up a little big. It's great though, a bit different and looks good tucked in too 🙂
Hey girl! Sam, I love all the fabrics! The second fabric (with the bunnies) has an accent color of red/rust. Does that color coordinate or match with the plain fabric you chose and showed after the olive? If sew the plain with make a great cardigan, or even a bottom, to coordinate with the print. I went to a color conference years ago where I learned that the human mind remembers an exact color for a ridiculous two seconds! By the time you turn around to check a second color, the exact color of the first is gone! The Marino dress in the pink would be beautiful; imagine a single shoulder strap and make a couple of “tanks” in other colors to wear under and you have a minimum of three options.
I love all your fabrics and pattern ideas Sam, it really gets the creativity going. I was inspired by Julie's south shore romper to finally print out my pattern, next step will be actually cutting it out 😂 Happy new year x
Some gorgeous fabrics and pattern ideas. For the sage green, possibly the Pattern Scout Bridget tee - long sleeve? And for the burgundy soft knit - btw I made a Billie sweater dress this week and just lengthened it as I don’t like it above my knee either - how about the Tilly Pearl wrap around cardigan? Good luck with your plans. 👍
Hi Sam! I have been eyeing the eden fabric for a while. Happy I'll get to see it made up by you. For the paneled skirt you talked about, it would be nice to separate the panels a bit with a stronger blue or lilac piping detail, otherwise the panels might be completely lost in the busy pattern. Just a thought.
Fabulous vlog, Sam. Thank you. All of your fabrics and pattern choices are amazing. I was wondering if you could help me find a pattern. My granddaughter found a top which she loves but it cost over $400 so she asked me if I could make it. It looked so simple but I just cannot find a pattern. It's a little sleeveless boxy top in silk organza with a stand collar fastening at the back. I know this is a bit of an ask but you seem to know a lot about patterns. Don't worry if you can't. 😍
Hello Wonderful fabic haul, oh I am jealous of the beautiful fabric that you have I would make a skirt and waistcoat with the needle cord plaid A above the knee straight skirt like a traditional denim skirt and if you Don't have enough for a full waistcoat what about just the front of it plaid black back to go with 😢with black lining you could then wear all different colors of tights and tshirts underneath for different looks even a plain blouse in pink or purple any color from the plaid Also can be warn separately with colored trousers Just love all your ideas and fabrics I hope that you get time to sew these things up quickly as possible As I can hardly wait for reveal Its minus 40 in Northern Saskatchewan Canada where I live and warm fleece dresses and warm sweatshirts are on my sewing table Take care. Happy sewing! Take care 👗 ✂️ 🪡 🧵

I've just been listening to Helen talk about it and I really like the sound of it too. X
Love all the fabrics. Looking at the patterns you mentioned too. Love them all.
Thank you Diane xd

Oh love the idea of making the tanks to go underneath. I thought that about the rust too. A new colour combo for me.
@ I’m thinking now even a bralette strap in a complimentary color would not be inappropriate!
Closet core has an add on for long sleeves.
Ooh thank you for the tip.
Exciting plans 🙏❤️
Thank you x

Thank you. Wish someone could cut out my paper pieces for me 😂
@sequingirlie We should get a local scouts group on board for fundraising or a badge or something 😂

Great vlog as always I have made the Styla Reine it’s a lovely top you will love it ❤❤
Ooh great thank you. I'm excited to cut it out.
I have a very similar fabric to the multi on navy. My initial idea is a Heather blazer
Oh my goodness that would be fantastic

Hello
Wonderful fabic haul, oh I am jealous of the beautiful fabric that you have
I would make a skirt and waistcoat with the needle cord plaid
A above the knee straight skirt like a traditional denim skirt and if you Don't have enough for a full waistcoat what about just the front of it plaid black back to go with 😢with black lining you could then wear all different colors of tights and tshirts underneath for different looks even a plain blouse in pink or purple any color from the plaid
Also can be warn separately with colored trousers
Just love all your ideas and fabrics I hope that you get time to sew these things up quickly as possible As I can hardly wait for reveal

Hello. We have had a big of snow but nothing like you get. Thank you for the great suggestions. Now to get the fabric washed and started xx
Could you please send the name of the black sweater vest you are wearing. Thanks 😊
Chalk and Notch Max Tee, I need to make one soon!
Thank you. It is indeed. I've just finished filming a vlog all about it and it will be coming out later this week.
Later this week I have a vlog coming out all about the max tee
@@sequingirlieI'm looking forward to that. Thanks😊

I got that first fabric. Just a .88cm off cut, sadly, though.
If I have any left I will let you know x
@ that’s so sweet! I’m sure I can make a Naya with what I’ve got so I was fine only getting an off-cut.
