You saved me 150 USD for honda fit 2015 key. Thank you!!! I tried it many times over 20x and about 60 minutes. I raked the pins with my swiss pen knife mini-tweezers several times and in one of those times it did the fast-flash-blink and from then on it started working. I thought I would never succeed. As i had to wait for the initial light to turn off while pressing and being still it tired my hand and once the initial light went off, i then raked the pins. I think raking worked because there was coating and this raking probably exposed the metal and finally it worked. Thanyou!!!!! your are a genius!!!!!!!!!!
This is the only thing that worked for me after multiple hours trying to clean the circuit board with wd 40 and rubbing alcohol, and changing the battery, and trying to “reprogram”, etc. I had to try multiple times but these techinque saved me. I just kept shorting the circuit with the tweezers and pusing the buttons after each try until one of them displayed a normal blink of red light! Thank you so much!
Omg, 3 hours of beating my head against a wall, and replacing the battery brought me here and I’ve never been happier. I don’t know why, and I’m not gonna question it, but this video works and saved me $130 or more dollars. So thankful.
Dude you are a fucken genius, the lowest I found to replace and reprogram key fob was $250 on a honda accord 2016. Plus it took me damn near 4 hrs including replacing the battery and nothing, thank you so so so much.
This actually works, I tried other videos where I used rubber alcohol to clean the board, works twice. The third time it didn't, I found this clip and tried it, and it fixed my remote. Thanks
Maaaan! THIS WORKS. Had this issue for months and thought remote was faulty. Already cleaned and swapped batteries so figured it was fried. The other commenter had it right. I believe it was the 2nd pin and 6th or 7th to short out. (Counting from top left to right as you see area he’s pressing). Took a cpl mins and worked on a remote I thought was doomed. Great video brutha.
Yes this worked for me too! My 2017 Accord remote randomly stopped working correctly. The LOCK button would unlock the car and the rest of the buttons did nothing at all. The red button would stay lit for 5 secs or so after pressing the LOCK button. Changed the battery and still the same behavior. The key still started the car so I knew it was still programmed to it. Followed the directions from this video and the remote works like normal again. Thanks so much.
It worked like a charm. The Honda dealer told me that there was corrosion when the new battery they installed wouldn’t solve the problem of opening the door. I did exactly as the video said and 👍🏻 back in working order again. BTW, there was no corrosion when I examined the key fob. Saved $180 dollars
Excellent video. It worked on an instant. The only difference is that I did shorting the pins from one side of the microchip to the other side. Shorting the pins on the same side didn’t work for me. For a new key fob, cutting and programming, Honda asked me for AUD 450. My car is Honda Jazz 2018. Thank you very much.
Just tried this and had to do this a couple of times and it worked!!! Ty so much and looked at other vids but yours was the only one that works. Thanks again and i hope you have a great day
My issue was like the rest of you fellas, I followed the video tutorial over and over, more than 3x actually and patiently waiting for a miracle. I finally took my multimeter and measure the voltage of the new battery I replace, it went down to 2.97 vdc most likely from multiple attempts of shortening the chip😂😂. I checked the other battery I just replaced from the fob and it still reads 3.07, I decided to put it back and voilà it works like a charm. My conclusion was: the shorting of the pins from the chip works and the battery voltage has to be 3 vdc and above. FYI, always check the battery voltage. Thank you fellas for the shared experience, and Sir, thank you for posting this video, it really helps.
thanks, i found with 2015 civic remote similarly, but maybe my multi meter was a bit off, out of 5 batteries I tried (all new) only the ones >3.15V would resolve the LED staying on regardless of shorting pins
Dude 2nd day already trying to figure out. Pressed mutlitple times inside the car outside the car, hold button together seperatly everythinhg... cleaning the board with alchohol nothing worked was going to do wd40 just didnt havt any... i know it seemed like you can mes the board up by doing this but i didnt care at this point, tried it exsactly 3 time and now it works!!!@ love you thank hou very much!! No i can go to sleep feeling good :):)
YOU GUYS SAVE MY LIFE 😭😭 thanks guy im on emergency but my remote suddenly got problem as same you all , and its work when try multi time with your idea 😭 thanks ❤
Omg thank you so much for this video!! It worked so easily and on the first try! I’m so grateful for you. Thank you thank you thank you. I was so stressed for a few weeks!!
Had two remotes, one never worked. Tried new battery, still did not work. Never needed till today; made mistake and threw keyring into a fire (burning boxes), no more remote. Found this video, on the non-working remote scratched the surfaces as indicated on the video, went out to try, it works! Thanks!
excellent video, I had my key with that same error and I took it to change the battery and he told me it was damaged you saved me 120 dollars thank you very much
Worked on 2013 Honda Accord 9th gen key fob. Used red hold button to push out circuit board coved with clear casing. Sorted as done in video to get 3 red blinks , if I got a long one, restarted count. Thanks for posting!
I wish I could give you ten thumbs up. This worked for me. I waited for the red light to be on an then raked the pins back and forth with the tweezers. I didn’t hit any specific pins like people mentioned. Thank you!!!!!!
Just tried it, after reading through the comments and doing a few times I am more than happy to say that it works!! Dealer quoted me 300$ for a brand new key plus reprogramming sooo, thanks for saving me money. 2016 Honda accord sport
Thank you very much. I didn't need to jump that one chip 3 times but this encouraged me to completely take it apart and reassemble to make sure the board was in the silicone gasket properly.
This worked perfectly for a 2019 Honda WRV key. Just keep shorting the microchip and pressing the buttons its gonna go back to normal. Mine had stopped working after i had replaced the key battery
Doing this totally fixed the solid red light issue with my CR-V's key fob, although I did need to be in range of my car and press the lock button for the fob to re-sync. Thank you!
Worked for me. Except I couldn't get it to do a short flash each time I touched the contacts. Mine kept doing a long red light instead of a short one. Kept trying and eventually got it to short flash once. It worked fine after that. Hopes this helps. Great video! Thanks

I also confirmed that this works after trying all of those other methods! I didn’t even need a new battery because I had replaced it only a few months ago
I can also confirm it that this shorting technique does work! Thanks a lot Smart Brain! It took me more than 10 tries. It would be good to know exactly which pins need to be shorted. It looks like the bottom No 1-2 and around the 6-7-8 th from the bottom (out of the 10) pins were touched. (wait for led light to turn off like Arif said below). Could anybody explain why this problem happened in the first place? Anyway it saved me hundreds of dollars thanks again. Cheers, Misi
Can I also do it with a small screw driver or does it have to be with tweezers?oh nevermind I used a paper clip and I bent it like a tweezer...it worked! Thanks...saved some money...
Thanks so much!! I though I needed to reprogram the key. But that did not work. This worked so well my alarm started blaring because I put the panic button in upside down and it kept pressing it lol !! Thanks
This did not work for me. But I was able to fix my issue using "solution #1" below: Please read all before proceeding: A continuous red light could be one or more of the following issues. It could mean that the keyfob lost its connection with the car locking system, or there is something mechanical or electronic issue firing more than one command simultaneously. I recommend following the same order of the listed solutions if you don't know the cause of your issue): 1- The keyfob was "unpaired" due to some unlucky sequence of pressing the wrong buttons. Buttons may randomly function, or you may hear the door locks reacting to the signal being sent by pressing the button (muffled sound inside the car door), but the unlock / lock is not working properly, and the red light stays for about 5 to 6 seconds. Solution: 1- Sit in the car with your doors closed and unlocked. 2- Long press the lock button to see get the continuous red light. 3- Immediately, start pressing the unlock button repeatedly multiple times (5 to 10 times) until the red light flashes. 4- When you hear the sound of the door unlocking: your keyfob is now paired again to your car's locking system. 4- Try locking the doors to ensure the red light does not stay as before. You should be able to lock and unlock the door, and the keyfob is back to its normal function. Note: This method only works when your keyfob is already programmed. It does not work to program a brand new keyfob or to reprogram an existing keyfob to a new lock system. To do that, watch this: ruclips.net/video/ox1O_hN2o24/видео.html 2- The circuit needs cleaning because some liquid or residues got inside and is causing unwanted circuit contact. Solution: - Open the keyfob and remove the battery. - Remove the board from its silicon protective jacket. - Clean the board with a Q-tip damped with alcohol. Use a high percentage of isopropyl alcohol (the higher its percentage, the better it is for electronic boards because it dries quickly). Be careful not to leave any cotton hairline. - Once dry, Use a tissue damped with WD-40 and gently wipe the circuit from both sides. - Put the circuit board back in its silicon case, put everything back, place the battery back and completely close the keyfob. - Try if this works 3- One of the buttons is mechanically stuck or has a dirt build-up collected in its channel, and the key fob thinks and acts as if two buttons are being pressed simultaneously. Solution: - Open the keyfob and remove the battery. - Remove the board from its silicon protective jacket. - Use a Q-tip damped with a high percentage of isopropyl alcohol. Be careful not to leave any cotton hairline. - Try to get some alcohol underneath the buttons, and by pressing the buttons repeatedly, you will be removing any dirt that is stuck under that malfunctioning button. - Do this as a preventive measure on all buttons. - Put the circuit board back in its silicon case, put everything back, place the battery back and completely close the keyfob. - Try if this works Note: if the red light appears to be breathing slowly / fading (not continuous light for 5 sec), your battery needs to be changed.
Worked for me 2014 CRV. Thought it was dead batteries. The fob lock button would trigger unlock. The reprogramming sequence in the ignition never worked. Still had the long red light. Used the wife’s tweezers and had both fobs working again in 2 mins.
Well I cleaned with IPA and tried every thing else but only this pin shorting technique worked for me although it is not a good idea of shorting IC pins at random but this worked :D :D
Thank you so much!!!! I thought the same as everyone else commenting here, I thought I needed a new remote. Although, it did took me a bit of a while but I think it was because the pins on my board are coated.
Worked for me first time, but the problem came back a week later. Tried according to video again, but not working for some reason. I'm stupid sorry, no idea what is happening in video. Is this the correct procedure: 1) Put in new battery 2) Rub tweezers at end of circuit board 3) Tap one prong 4) place circuit board over battery 5) Tap chip 3 times to short-circuit Because as soon as I even place the circuit board over battery, the red light stays on sold.
I've got a similar problem but not quite the same. As soon as I apply power to the board, it will either lock or unlock the car and the light stays on constant for 10 seconds or so. The buttons generally don't work. If i rake thr tweezers across the pins I can get the light to blink, but less than a second later the light comes back on constant for 10 seconds. I've tried cleaning everything with 91% alcohol, tried shorting on the other side of the pin block... Still no love. Anyone have this sand scenario? Any advice/suggestions?

This did not work for me. But I was able to fix my issue using "solution #1" below:
Please read all before proceeding:
A continuous red light could be one or more of the following issues. It could mean that the keyfob lost its connection with the car locking system, or there is something mechanical or electronic issue firing more than one command simultaneously.
I recommend following the same order of the listed solutions if you don't know the cause of your issue):
1- The keyfob was "unpaired" due to some unlucky sequence of pressing the wrong buttons. Buttons may randomly function, or you may hear the door locks reacting to the signal being sent by pressing the button (muffled sound inside the car door), but the unlock / lock is not working properly, and the red light stays for about 5 to 6 seconds.
Solution:
1- Sit in the car with your doors closed and unlocked.
To do that, watch this: ruclips.net/video/ox1O_hN2o24/видео.html
2- The circuit needs cleaning because some liquid or residues got inside and is causing unwanted circuit contact.
Solution:
- Open the keyfob and remove the battery.
- Try if this works
3- One of the buttons is mechanically stuck or has a dirt build-up collected in its channel, and the key fob thinks and acts as if two buttons are being pressed simultaneously.
Solution:
- Open the keyfob and remove the battery.
- Try if this works
Note: if the red light appears to be breathing slowly / fading (not continuous light for 5 sec), your battery needs to be changed.

Worked for me 2014 CRV. Thought it was dead batteries. The fob lock button would trigger unlock. The reprogramming sequence in the ignition never worked. Still had the long red light. Used the wife’s tweezers and had both fobs working again in 2 mins.
Glad it helped

Thank you so much...worked perfectly for me...
You're welcome
Well I cleaned with IPA and tried every thing else but only this pin shorting technique worked for me although it is not a good idea of shorting IC pins at random but this worked :D :D
😁 by the way you have fixed your remote. So now i'm happy too.
You're the best!
Thank you so much
Thank you so much!!!! I thought the same as everyone else commenting here, I thought I needed a new remote. Although, it did took me a bit of a while but I think it was because the pins on my board are coated.
You are welcome dear! 🥰
You’ll never need a new remote lmao
Wau gracias hermano, sólo pude hacer parpadear 1 vez y con eso fue suficiente 👍👍👍👍👍
❤️
The circuit board is fixed with a silicone. So do I have to remove the circuit board ? 😢
Yes, of course
Worked for me. I'm wondering if this is a permanent fix and if there is any damage caused.
Hello! Wich pins you use to short circuit? y have the same problem :(
You also can use any small wire to short circuit
It works for me! Thank you! (February 03, 2024)
You're welcome!
I just did and it works!
Worked for me first time, but the problem came back a week later. Tried according to video again, but not working for some reason. I'm stupid sorry, no idea what is happening in video.
Is this the correct procedure: 1) Put in new battery 2) Rub tweezers at end of circuit board 3) Tap one prong 4) place circuit board over battery 5) Tap chip 3 times to short-circuit
Because as soon as I even place the circuit board over battery, the red light stays on sold.
Thank you. It worked for me. ✅
You're welcome 😊. Don't forget to subscribe. ❤️
Very very good..
Many many thanks
Very helpful.. Thanks
You're welcome dear 🤗
Im traying but it doesnt work. Its important to have a draw eyebraws?? Im using other metal, a clip.
You can also use a wire to fix it.
@@smart-brain One of the buttons was not working. That was the problem. I have Someone to fix it and the control its working perfectly. Thanks
You're Welcome
OMG, thanks buddy this works
☺️ You're welcome dear ☺️
I inserted a new batt, only shorted it once and it worked for me.
