If this doesn't work for you, try the below. It worked for me:
A continuous red light could also mean that the keyfob lost its connection with the car locking system.
1- The keyfob was "unpaired" due to some unlucky sequence of pressing the wrong buttons. Buttons may randomly function, or you may hear the door locks reacting to the signal being sent by pressing the button (muffled sound inside the car door), but the unlock / lock is not working properly, and the red light stays for about 5 to 6 seconds.
    Solution:
1- Sit in the car with your doors closed and unlocked.
2- Long press the lock button to see get the continuous red light.
3- Immediately, start pressing the unlock button repeatedly multiple times (5 to 10 times) until the red light flashes.
4- When you hear the sound of the door unlocking: your keyfob is now paired again to your car's locking system.
4- Try locking the doors to ensure the red light does not stay as before. You should be able to lock and unlock the door, and the keyfob is back to its normal function.
Note: This method only works when your keyfob is already programmed. It does not work to program a brand new keyfob or to reprogram an existing keyfob to a new lock system. To do that, watch this: ruclips.net/video/ox1O_hN2o24/видео.html
Note: if the red light appears to be breathing slowly / fading (not continuous light for 5 sec), your battery needs to be changed.

Dude, your video saved me so much time and money! I tried everything that I could think of to fix my key and it was doing this exact same thing as yours was, as soon as I sprayed down both sides of the circuit board with electrical parts cleaner and wiped them dry the key fob magically started working again! Thank you so much!!!

Thank you man! This worked for me as well. I sprayed the WD 40 on a white Tshirt and whipped the circuit bored. When I clean both side the first time it didn't work. Did it a second time and it started to somewhat work. Than a third time it worked perfectly after doing a more deep wipe without rushing it.

This worked! I had this same issue with my 2018 honda fit with red light staying on and unlocking constantly. I tried with WD-40 on the circuit board which didn't seem to work, then I used rubbing alcohol to clean it, and the plastic casing the board sits in. It worked! key locks and unlocks just like it used to. thank you soooo much!

I had the same problem with my 2014 Honda Civic key remote, but instead of WD-40 which is oil base, I used 99% rubbing alcohol, you can even pour it on and won't damage the electronics as it evaporates quickly. This happened twice, I thick because moisture on inside, so second time I did the cleaning twice or three times, then the remote is fixed again.

Mine would blink red when I pressed the unlock and lock doors buttons, but no light in the trunk. It wouldn't even unlock/lock the doors, it would just open the trunk. I cleaned the rubber coverings of the motherboard, put it back on and it worked. No WD40 used.
TL/DR: if your remote is not working, trying cleaning it thoroughly.

Well this hasn't worked for me on a 2015 Fit LX. Red light stays lit and the unlock button will lock the car. Tried the procedure of holding the lock button for until red light is lit and pressing unlock repeatedly but it just locks the car. Eventually it effects the actual power lock on the door where it won't respond and I have to start the car to reset it.
I'm thinking it'll need reprogramming or replacement.

On mine, a 2017 civic hatchback lx, I would push the unlock and it would lock and the led would stay on for a few seconds. I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and nothing changed. Then I sprayed it with WD40 and wiped it off with a rag. Connected it to the battery and it started working again almost immediately. Still hangs up with led light on but if I hit the lock button the led goes off. Weird but it did work for me.

This is the only thing that worked for me after multiple hours trying to clean the circuit board with wd 40 and rubbing alcohol, and changing the battery, and trying to “reprogram”, etc. I had to try multiple times but these techinque saved me. I just kept shorting the circuit with the tweezers and pusing the buttons after each try until one of them displayed a normal blink of red light! Try adjusting the silicone... if the circuit board it too deep then it will depress a button continuously... make sure the board is just inserted slightly. You can test it by powering the board without the silicone and pressing the white buttons yourself. If it works then it's most likely the positioning of the silicone that is the culprit. Cleaning the board will does nothing
