Big thanks to @WonderboyMMA for helping me break these down! Кино
Its okay Seth. You're still the anime protagonist in our hearts.
Even Goku lost his first tournament.
The friendship between Mike and you is so damned wholesome. There's just something about going to the gym with your buddies that cannot be replaced.
Indeed, great respect to the both of you... We need good friends in life.
You were second only to a PROFESSIONAL MMA FIGHTER! That's not nothing! I suspected that Jeff Chan would win the competition, but I had ZERO idea of who else would make it on the podium, and I was extremely proud to see you get the silver medal. With that said, I'm a competitive dude that hates losing, so I can understand why you're so hard on yourself, even though I respectfully disagree with the "loser" label. Still, USDC is one of the best events I've ever seen on this platform, so I'm glad your overall experience was a positive one.
Mate you lost to a pro mma fighter.. and it was soo close. Nothing to be ashamed of at all. You should be proud
After seeing how Jeff evaded Rokas by rolling out of all of the arm bars and wrist locks, he is completely comfortable waiting for you to screw up your grapple from any direction. He never breaks composure.
Don't feel too bad, Molly McCann lost the same way in a UFC co-main event!
😂
No Mollys was dumber. She did a gramby roll to the side of the fence while being in an armbar with a gyall who can only win by armbar.
@@Reypstraptor4269yeah but she was screaming "f the Tories" the whole time so technically she won
Discovered your channel after binging the USDC and you’ve quickly become my favorite RUclipsr, Seth. You’re a huge inspiration to all of us working on our own martial arts journey and I’m incredibly grateful for what you do
The same is for me. I want to say Sensei Seth is a true martial artist, I watched a bunch of his videos last week…I’m pretty sure he’ll become better and Sensei Seth just enjoy your Martial Art journey😉
3. Sensei Seth is awesome Sensei.
Just barely losing to a professional fighter that fought in frickin' ONE FC??? Brother, you realise the only reason you felt that type of way is because you had a VERY legitimate chance and nearly WON against someone who fought at arguably the top level of martial arts, right? ONE, as a whole, take the grappling away (where Jeff is obv a stud) and it's just as if not more elite than the UFC. Who doesn't spar regularly with Jeff and is able to stuff his takedown like you did? I haven't seen it. 1A and 1B in that competition was you guys. There was just 1 belt, arguable decision making process (no shade, just that it was clearly not based on rules set in stone). Off by a second, can't ask you not to be both sad and angry about it. It sucks. All that aside, you're an incredible athlete, inspiring to 100s of thousands of people out there. Many more that would love all you're about are yet to discover your channel. Much more out there for you to conquer. I've been entertained and educated by you and Mike over the last 3-4 years, but especially the past 18 months of nursing injuries myself, your content is sth I look forward to and hypes me up for a future where I can do those things again myself. You have a positive impact on people around the world every day. 💐💐💐💐
PS: You better be joining season 3! With Mike in your corner, if not participating (that knee of his locking up on the bus - I felt that 😅). With you this upset I am confident that you'll consider it 👊
When you word it that way
Damn seems like Mike truly has a heart of gold
As mean as Mike talks he seems like a genuinely super nice human being. I like your reviews! Wish the other guys were doing more of em too
I really love how you strategized through out the entire competition. The head kick on the bus and the punch right out of the door are both amazing. Hopefully you will be a part of season 3 in any manner. I also don't get how this isn't being picked up by a TV network. This is like myth busters for martial arts and self-defense.
Damnit, now I want a martial arts Myth Busters TV show hosted by Seth and Mike.
Man you killed it in that competition. Honestly watching you compete and try everything under the sun is inspirationally badass. Got me pumped to compete in my next tournament.
1. Seth is a good advert for breadth of attacks (constantly unpredictable) also strength and size, 2. Jeff is a great advert for MMA fundamentals (constantly predictable but he does what he has done every day for years and years - the sheer efficiency of his double leg!) 3. Mike and Seth legit need to do an upkick exploration video. Great stuff
Dude, that entire show was super cool. SO glad I found all of ya to follow through Season one.
Your best line? "I'm competitive when I win, but if I lose I'm like "Ah, nah whatever." ...Man I spit coffee on my keyboard!!
The most disheartening thing about the show? Was the reality of the (third?) no-retreat scenario. *Open your eyes, knife to the throat* ..It sucks to think that at that moment? My BEST option is to give them my money, & hope they aren't into cold blooded murder.
Oh, that & the knowledge that all my hours of self defense training & work on disarming a knife wielding opponent are SO situational in effectiveness. The number of sewing machine marker strikes on everyone was a shock, & a wake up call.
Strength & Honor from the Greatland Seth.
Seth was so close but in the end it was Jeff’s win. It must’ve been fun being there
See, that's how they do it... they ACT like Orange Juice, Oreos and Salads is not the secret workout super fuel, but it is. And now everyone knows... Gah... way to go Seth... now EVERYONE can be a super champion beastoid. Geez.
You vs Rokas in this episode and Mike vs Matt in the first episode = two most fun fights of the season.
Man Seth got so close though you gotta admit, bro was almost the champion!
Commiserations on the narrow loss. But it's obvious you're one heck of a talent and competitor.
You said you won't compete for Series 2, but it would have been great to see you and others from Series 1 appear again to provide problems for the new contestants. Like a "Rival Team" kind of idea. Of course that would also be expensive to fly out an accommodate everyone extra, but just throwing the idea out there.
U did Great Seth! I know u wanted to win but u made it to 2nd which is pretty impressive.
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole series, fantastic entertainment, looking forward to seeing the next fight formats that awaits the new contenders.
Bread 👍
(also I was rooting for you the whole time and it's crazy how close it ended up being. I hope we get to see you in season 3!)
You are honestly the first person I think of when I imagine a martial artist. Thank you for the content dude.
Win, lose or draw....that was an awesome series and I bet a ton of fun!
BTW, looking forward to an opportunity to train with you sometime, if possible. I'll be moving to NC next year. We'll see. 🙂
I watched this whole show and you were impressive. Kudos on a great event.
Now on to watch your analysis.
Hey Seth, loved seeing you on this series. I had you picked to win it the entire time, and was rooting for ya throughout. You're a nice guy and deep down you don't wanna hurt anybody. It's the same for the other competitors I know, but I also feel like if everyone was going full blast you would've came out on top convincingly. I hope you can feel proud of this amazing series you helped create, and how much entertainment and happiness you brought the viewers.
Would love to see you back on for another go maybe for season 3, like you said! And also I want to see Wonderboy on it soooooooo bad. How was he not chosen for season 2!?!?
Thanks brother, GGs
I really want to see some of the kung fu community get in on a future running -- Kevin Lee, Kevin Goat, Master Wong, Sergio (who guested on Mike's channel), etc.
Keeping tbe competition as close as you did, with an active fighter was really impressive. Well done man!
Loved the USDC, loved your role in it and these breakdowns and reactions. But Sad Seth makes me sad.
I love this channel so much, these breakdowns are sick. Would love to see pros react to their own events too. not gonna happen but itd be neato
You and Jeff chan were the most dangerous people usdc bro don't be so hard on yourself
Happened to Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva
You all did great. Looking forward to more videos like that.
There were so many points that were so subjective that I don’t think you should feel bad for coming in second. You could have easily run away with it if the judges gave you a few more points on some of those challenges.
i think that this ended perfectly, the pro won, the co producer (rockas) didn't arrive to the final and the big guy had an even fight with a pro in the final, what else do you want?
Thank you Seth! I love your videos. Keep on doing it! The USDC was really fun to watch! Greetings from Austria!
more storing tellying please.. your storings are the best
Second in a room full of savages is pretty fuckin good
The self defense championship was the best thing I had seen for ages. You guys were amazing. It looked so demanding in every way.
Thank you for the honesty in this video. The USDC was overall really great.
Always wanted to take part in something like this
You're winning just by being in this. I loved this and I love your content.
Ps. That backdrop is lit
Great run. I think there's an argument that you got robbed by the scoring on the previous episode. You (along with Enkamp and Wonderboy) have completely made me rethink my opinions on karate. Good show.
Thanks for the explanation of the final fight. I fought that Jeff used his weight to pull you off of that couch. Knowing you willingly jumped into the trap puts completely different twist on that fight.
You did incredibly well don't beat yourself up too much about not winning it just means you really cared. I'm in Australia right now and I actually visited the building and Western Combatives(not inside). It was pretty surreal to see exactly where you guys were, I can see why you guys all sprinted to the tree as soon as you got outside as the tree wasn't that far from the exit.
The house is also a lot smaller in real life, they make great use of the rooms
It’s hard to feel good about a second place, especially if you make that one small error. There is always the next one. Thanks for the video. You fought well and it could have gone either way
I knew the clip you were talking about, Seth. "Get pitted dude, so pitted" that guy 😂😂
I got "hooked" on Sensei Seth and also Icy Mike after binging on USDC too. Went through ALL of Sensei Seth's reaction channel as well
I'm excited for season 2. Stoked. Let's face it, though. Everyone knew Jeff was going to win. Taking second to a pro isnt something to feel bad about.
Someone a while back told me that 2nd place is just the firts looser. It's totally okay to feel sad about it. That being said the USC was the firts time I saw you being a real force of nature fighting like you mean it so it really gave me a new foumd respect for you. As a random guy from the internet I'd love to train with you some day
Thanks for the share …… take care ✝️
My dude... Your fights were excellent.
And you will be stellar if you tune up your BJJ
Love it!!
Best part by far is the uncovering that Seth doesn’t have premium!
Hey Seth! Ever thought about doing a kickboxing tournament or amateur fight? Would be a great video!
U did great in the knife challenge. Better than others.
Loved the USDC series and love your channel, everyone had highlights during the series and looked like champions, my only question is, when you were in that armbar, why didn't you 'just stand up'?. 😉
I still want to see an Eddie Hall or Brian Shaw type in that mix. So many different strengths and weaknesses that way. Like... where you gonna hide? But in a bus fight... The only thing you put someone like that in is a rear view mirror and GO!
we the viewers are the real winners. Thank you
The way Mike says "Doesn't Jeff have to defend his belt?"
Its really cool, the idea of final fight on a bridge.
The fact that Mike was tearing up after the fight is no sign of weakness.
Seth man, I really think you proved a lot with this series. Jeff Chan is a human wrecking ball, it's no shame to lose to him, but for a huge chunk of the challenge I really thought you were going to get that belt. That combination of Karate and Sumo was working really well. Mike was his usual wild self, and it was sad that Ramsey arrived burnt out with covid and jet lag, but the USDC has been hands down one of the things I've been entertained by most recently.
I would say rokas is the real surprise of this whole thing. It is amazing how much he progressed. Also a advert for MMA on how much a difference even a couple of years can make. Of course, he has the advantage of being tall, but considering he is probably the greenest of them all, he did pretty good.
Am I the only one who's been annoyed by Ramsey's response to the season online? He's been making a list of excuses for why he didn't do as well as he thought he would. It started off with the knee, covid, then jetlag, then he's talking about how his vision was messed up, they didnt explain the rules properly to him, Rokas was favored that's why he got more points, and that the Western Combative guys were biased against him, they judged his fights wrong. Respect all these guys for everything they put out, but Ramsey just turned out to be a hater; even lightweight mocking icy Mike in his review smdh.
Ok season 3, if it ever happens, bring in the former contestants to judge the fights cause so far that seems to be everyone’s only issue with the USDC is that the point system was crap
You are not loser
You have experience in what you did.
You did well.
They’re impressed with you
You are phenomenal
Dude, you came in second. A silver medal's not a loss.
Respectfully it 100% is
@@senseisethreactsbig no dog. You were one of the worst fighters there, but luckily fat and heavy which means a lot in a competition like that
2nd place is 1st loser.
@gnulen dang dude was that a compliment
@@gnulen he wasn't one of the worst, he was better than most skill wise, but you are right his size was an advantage
Mike with the big guys is like looking at hobbits with Gandalf
Mike's back there like "they just don't run out of giants"
Fr they had all the biggest dudes
That's a sick backdrop seth
season 2 needs opposition force, could always bring back the old crew as the "random bad guys."
Brings back memories of my childhood, except no timers, refs, cameras, or protective gear.
Seth "please Wonderboy senpai, Notice Meeee" lol
Learn armbars and armbar escapes. Roll on brorher. Continue to learn and integrate.
My guy got the jet engine pc
It must feel bad coming in second. But think how Icy Mike, Ramsey and Matt must feel. We all finished behind you.
Hahahaha the surfer 😂😂😂 the best bro
Icy mike had a "are you f-ing kidding me with this rightnow?!"
Win or lose isn't important. it is just on aspect of the martial arts , the martial side alongside, athletic preparation, body conditioning, reflex , speed , strength aggressive attitude to have the upper hand..... the important , is do your best to put the basis for serious improvements .
I don't know if I have more suspense rewatching some of these fights, especially with the context provided, or that it sounds like Seth's computer is gonna explode half the time.
i love that clip of the surfer
allow yourself to cry
it will make you stronger
Would have been more realistic if the bad guys played by the same rules as you all did.
It is pretty freaking sick.
For a second I thought this was going to be a video of you losing weight but then I see it was a fight you were talking about🙂
😂 You should do a video heckling RUclips ads.
That's a cool wall hanger...thing!
Runner up becomes one of the role players? And then after 3-4 seasons you have all the champs and runners up in one "returning" tournament.
YES
You guys were great !
I'm Curious: Did everyone else get a B&H commercial right after the in-video B&H commercial?
Man, imagine having your fight reviewed by the Wonderboy. I hope he had some, um, observations that can be passed on to Jesse...
Everybody needs to incorporate some couch jitsu in their training.
Your presence is invaluable! Please compete in it again. The series will undoubtedly be better with you and Mike.
So close....
11:10 .... Blushing hard😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We need wonderboy in the next self defense challenge.
I love the Sumo thing.
I picked you to win, was gutted how close you got
Honestly it's a pity, the only thing you have to blame yourself is because of the mindset, you were so sure to win that you 'offered' your arm for the arm bar...You know that is a mistake that you shouldn't done, especially in a scenario of reality, that what you guys are trained for and that's what you are, self defence instructor; as we stated an mma fighter it will be always better than any self defence instructor at that point.
Please don't took this comment as a desrespect, I absolutely admire you and I felt sorry you didn't gain the belt, I was cheering for you.
LOL Mike next to those guys...they were so big.
Too hard on yourself, you all did amazing.
