The Dash-Board® Portable Workshop (Full Length)

- The Dash-Board®️ system is now the most capable and portable solution for all your sheet goods fabrication. Our components work together seamlessly to ensure accurate cuts and complete control over the parts, including the ability to rip to the center of full-sized sheets without concern that anything will hit the floor.
Important note: The slotted holes along the sides of the bench top are located to accommodate Festool-type guide rails only (also Makita, Powertec, Triton, etc). We made that decision based on the majority of customers using track saws with that style of rail and limited space to provide those holes on our tops.

I love Festool, but this is much more better then the MFT/3 system, much more better. Amazing!
Thank you:)
Excellent. I can hear the Festool engineers scowling in the background
Thank you.:)
I hear Festool engineers designing something for existing assembly tables.
Awesome setup as usual and keeps getting better
Thanks!
This looks like an amazing system. I haven’t jumped into the track saw world yet, but this looks compelling
And that's not even our most up-to-date stuff! :)
Houston! Festool has a problem! Well done sir. I'm looking into this now
Thanks, Chris! This video is a bit outdated by now, and all our products have improved.
I will have that system! Goodbye Festool.
Considering the switch over. Can the DB do angles?
Thanks for asking. This video shows how to adjust the F2 for any angle, beginning around 34 seconds.

Wouw very nice
excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
Are you also present in Europe? Where are they made? Thank you and keep the quality work.
Thanks for your positivity. We are an American company and ship directly to customers around the world.
In this video are you using the platinum package and large System Basic Bench? is there any other stuff ?
David,
Yes. That’s everything we have apart from the Rip Fence.
Any ability or plans to offer a package that can be added to the top of a customer built standard work table/assembly table? I think there would be a terrific market for those that don’t need portability but don’t have space for your product AND a “regular” workshop assembly table. Yes, yours can be stored and taken out for use but many would see that as too big an inconvenience and wouldn’t have the space for either storage or when in use in an existing shop with other tables and other wood working shop equipment. I’d build a new assembly table to incorporate your system. If not you, I see someone offering kits for woodworkers of the extruded aluminum parts and attachments.
Some customers do build cabinet bases on wheels and mount our benches on top. We sometimes sell legless benches for this purpose, and we of course have two sizes. Other people build a frame from T slot extrusion for the same purpose.
Is it the same measurement and support set up like shown at 6:03 also when cutting almost full width of the sheet?
Yannis,
We will soon offer an accessory called the Wingman to enable 48"/1219mm crosscuts, where the setup is somewhat different but still uses most of the same parts as seen here.
@@dashboardportableworkshop Thanks for the reply, it will be excellent with that additional accessory.
Does the cross cut hinge plate work with Maffell tracks?
Yes!👍
Regarding "Comfortable Work Height"... May I ask how tall the person in this video is?
(I only ask because due to my height, I get a lot of back pain with the festool MFT after a while.)
That text referred to a piece held vertically, and you can adjust the SpiRail™️ Dogs in our Door and Panel Supports to hold a workpiece as high as you like. The table top is the same as that other brand, at 35.5” (900mm).
Also, I’m 5’9” (~176cm).
@@dashboardportableworkshop Thank you very kindly. That context is a tremendous asset among us in the sasquatch community. ;-)
Would you please make a comprehensive Dashboard + hand tools video? I'd really like proof of concept before pulling the trigger.
Dash-Board is primarily designed for use with rail-guided tools such as track saws and routers, as well as for tasks involving sanders, the domino, etc. You can certainly use hand tools to accomplish many of the traditional applications for them, and our clamp tracks allow you to secure materials in a variety of positions and at comfortable heights for many kinds of work. The bench all by itself is extremely rigid and strong, which only improves when you add our Outriggers or connect a second bench. We'll put a hand tool video on the list.
OH... also, Which sized benchdogs are featured in this video (above table)?
We used 1” and 1/2” tall dogs.
I really wish I didn’t just purchase the mft3 and extension table. I should have done more research. Honestly the mft3 is so underwhelming. You cannot use it for rips, and the cross cut capacity cannot be enlarged even with the extension table. I’m really disappointed I didn’t see this.
By the way, excellent product. You came up with solutions to all the problems I saw with the mft, from stability to capacity. I bought the mft under the impression that it could be used to break down sheet goods, and I was wrong. I’ll have to start saving to purchase this. Amazing product!
I hear there's a newly thriving market in used MFT3s ;)
Thank you very much:)
I have an idea. Please contact me via the website.
Possible to physically combine two benches together?
Yes. We can provide our connector bars or knobs with studs to fasten through special holes in the frames.
I don't see the side-mounted crosscut fence or the door legs on the website. Are they available to purchase?
Coming up soon.👍
Does the rail guide system self adjust for various material thickness?
The Guide Rail Brackets are manually height-adjusted. Track Stars have a smaller range of adjustment but since they’re used with guide rails that have our SpiRail Dogs installed the rail naturally drops right onto your workpiece. In that sense we can call them self-adjusting.
Is this available in Europe?
We do ship directly to customers outside the U.S. but do not have international distributors.
On the long rips, what is that blue piece that you use to put between your bench dog and the wood? Is that something new?
Those are the Universal Setup Blocks (U.S.B.) and they're for positioning your rail during setup. They take the place of our traditional setup arrows and since they act where the cut line is rather than on the back of the rail they're unaffected by which type of rail you have.
What are the names of the clamps used?

Is aligning the saw guide rail on the splinter guard accurate? I thought you should align from the aluminum side? What if your splinter guard is slightly chewed up? I'm not sure I trust the splinter guard enough to make straight or 90 degree cuts. Am i missing something? Can the system use the aluminum side of the track instead?
Please check this video for an overview of the setup blocks. We strongly recommend keeping your splinter guards in good condition to get the best results from your track saw and our setups.
ruclips.net/video/_k3mONcqrCw/видео.html
i agree. My splinter guard is chewed up as well and I would not trust it for squaring up
I want it! But I dont think I can afford one. 😕
Looks like an excellent quality products, but the super high price defeats the purpose. The full length table with the platinum accessory pack costs 4558$ , you need to add the saw and rails, another 1500$, and you end up with the same price range and footprint of a sliding table saw, with maybe 10% of the sliding table saw functionality and ease of use.
If you have plenty of power, a big enough dust collection system, permanent available space for the slider itself - plus infeed and outfeed space - and you're only concerned with cutting, then sure, that arrangement is a great way to go. The Dash-Board system is about a lot more than cutting, though. It's an easily transportable design that enables cutting, routing, sanding, joining, assembly, vertical work holding, etc, that makes it quite different from a sliding saw. It all takes up less space because your rail-guided tools move rather than the material, as is neccessary with a table saw, so it's suitable for many more locations than a slider. Our design provides versatility that a slider cannot match and it's really an apples/oranges comparison.
