Not bad. I was expecting much higher prices considering the competition out there. I make my own tops with a parf guide, but this version is very impressive. I like the slot holes; I may integrate that in one of my next tops. And the sacrificial strip is a must for MFTs IMHO. Nicely done Fred, if I was in the market to buy a top, it would be yours. edit to add: I coat all my mft tops with dewaxed shellac. It adds durability without making the top slippery. I coat the inside of the holes too, then ream them out with the ujk reamer.
I got the track top, quad tracks, bench dogs and clips about a week ago on 11/26/24. I'm blown away at the quality. The top doesn't even feel like MDF. I've only ever used Home Depot MDF, and the difference between that and the track top is night and day. I'm a weekend woodworker and have been wanting a MFT style table since I saw a festool MFT3 set up at woodcraft a few years ago, but couldn't justify the expense of a festool/Benchdogs/Dashboard table (those are all from $800 and into the thousands). I got my track tubes set up for around $330, and the track tubes top and extrusion is better than the MFT3 in quality and usefulness as far as what you get from track tubes, and for my needs. I really wish tracktubes was more widely known, because I would've gotten this years ago and will be getting more soon.
Fred, after talking to you on the phone, I was excited about your new products. After seeing them in action, I’m REALLY excited! I have to say, I’ve rarely had such a forehead-slapping moment as when you flipped that top over and set the router gantry on it! 🤯 I literally yelled “NO!” at the screen. 😆 I’ll definitely be ordering some products in the future. Thanks for the innovation!
Hey Barak. Nice to hear from you again. Thank you for watching the video and leaving some nice comments. There has been a lot of effort put into this. There's a few more things behind the curtain that I think will make it even better when we bring them to life.
Nice. There are a few inherent flaws. In this case, inherent is quite literal since you inherit them from Festool's own design. First you need to remove the saw from the track between cuts. Second, you have to lift the track WAY out of the way instead of just up to release the board. Third, there is nothing preventing chip out where the saw exits the cut. Fourth, if you screw the track to a hinge, then it takes longer than it should to get the track off the table whenever needed. I mention these because I solved them all with my setup. Instead of a hinge, there is a simple board (fence) that can be raised and lowered. The board is wider than the track and gets a deep kerf the first time you make a cut. A peg in the top of the board holds the track in the same location. Attached to the other end of the track is a hook extending down from the track and under the table. The hook sits between two adjustable stops on the edge of the table. One sets squareness. The other just ensures that the track stays snug to the first. The tip of the hook has magnets that catch the bottom of the table. This allows me to only lift this end of the track about 6 inches between cuts. Between the kerf shown in the fence and the minuscule amount of lift on that side, I can very easily line up a cut to a pencil line. A stop on the track prevents the track saw from falling off the far end. The angle is quite shallow so it stays. The saw helps counterbalance the weight of the track making it easier on the magnets. The track can be lifted straight off of the table without losing my setup. The only components left sitting above the level of the table are all on the one side making the table 99% available with minimal effort.
Thanks for watching Pope. I appreciate the feedback. All of these issues have simple solutions and it sounds like you have solved them for your setup. I might not have approached it the same way as you but if you are getting the results you want then that's excellent.
Well done video. I’m a details guy. I imagine most woodworkers and engineering types are. You could have gone on another 20 minutes about dog hole sizes and getting a true 20mm and I wouldn’t have batted an eye.
Hi Fred. Nice to see you and more new products to your line. Sounds like business is going well for you. Keep up the great work. Hope to see some more of your great build videos in the future too. Be safe my friend.
Hey Jeff. Nice to hear from you again. Yes, this line of products has created a lot of potential for me so I've been pursuing that pretty heavily. We are working on a way to incorporate the Castle into it. Seems like I remember you buying one of those a few years ago?
Yes Sir. When the new product becomes available, it's time for me to finally get a full package. Waited long enough to make the decision. Looking forward to doing business with you again. Jeff
Hey Feddie, Great to see and hear you. Great product line! I will be heading over to your website now to check it out. I wish you great success going forward. I truly miss your maker/content videos, hope you will consider producing some for us, your fans. All the best!
Wingman!!! So good to hear from you again. There's a lot of road in the rear view mirror since we last interacted. I am pretty focused on TrackTubes these days. I do have some project builds in the can that I'd like to showcase soon though.
I am so glad the YT algo is working -- I have been researching a DIY MFT top for a while now and most are only available in EU. This looks like an amazing solution to the mobile solution that I need as a DIYer in the garage with very minimal space. The prices all seem very reasonable considering the machines you are using for the dog holes. Do you plan on having a special package where I can get a kit for a discounted price?
Fred this is an awesome product. I have a question I can’t seem to find the answer to. Can you set the height of material being cut? Meaning if you have the track hinge, can you set it to say 3/4” to where the material will slide underneath therefore you don’t have to remove the saw after each cut? If not, I think you should definitely consider a solution for this. It makes repeating cuts very quick. I’m looking for a new top and I’m definitely leaning towards this one. Thanks
Cool set of tools with a lot of creative design and functionality. Sounds like this line of work has taken off and swamped your custom-designed project work. And I presume that's a good thing.
What a great alternative to Festool's expensive MFT station. So intrigued by your system, just subscribed. So glad I stumbled across your YT site. Have to study your videos a little more, so I can determine just which set up I want to purchase. Thx again. UPDATE!! So, Fred, after watching several of your videos I bit the bullet on July 4 and ordered your MFT top with extrusion kit + two 72 in extrusions to serve as rails on my saw horses and several dog hole accessories. Can't wait to put to good use. I have a permanent Ron Paulk style MFT workbench that I built myself for home use but your kit will be great for mobile use. Of course, I'll know when I receive the kit but don't see where you mention the dimensions of the MFT top. I'm assuming around 24" x 45"???
You should develop a system to attach a quadtrack to the top for a fence with a swing stop. Attachment could be similar to the Anchor Dog by Precision Dog and the stop could be similar to or utilize a Kreg, Woodpecker, or Incra stop. I created my own outfeed table utilizing the 20mm dog holes (96mm centers) and haven't been able to find a fence I like that has a measuring tape and ability to add a stop.
Nice, but what I really need is kit or packages that I can purchase. Having to go through all the different pages is information overload for my little brain. I am afraid I end up purchasing parts only to find out that I bought the wrong ones and have to spend even more money to correct my mistake
Hey Cafe. Thanks for watching. We had a big run on the tops based on a video that was released this week that caused us to sell out. The next production run will be on July 3. Orders place before that will begin shipping on July 8. I have opened them back up for pre-order on the website if you want to get in the queue.
One solutions it to utilize two tops turned 90 degrees and space accordingly on a pair of 72" or 90" TrackTubes. The dog holes are square to the sacrificial cutting strip so it's easy to line everything up.
Thanks Steve. Once the new Quad Track is available there will be an offering for a kit with end caps. Thank you so getting on the subscriber list. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for watching Joseph. Valchromat is very hard to source domestically and is very expensive. I can't scale this product and still keep the price affordable and competitive using it.

Thanks NWGR. I agree on some kind of top coat. It gives it more life and just looks nice too.

That was pretty cool.

Great! I’ll be looking forward to them!
That router sled feature was really impressive. This thing definitely seems like a solid product at a fraction of festool.
I thought the same thing!!!
very clever. most simple and usable product in mft range i would say.

Would like to see some pictures of that setup?
Yes, some pictures would be excellent. I’m always looking for a place to park the saw between cuts.
Awesome video! Lots of excellent info on the new TRACKTOP! Can't wait to see how it helps with my set up! Keep those great new things comming!
Thanks Bart. Appreciate the kind words.
Awesome! That sacrificial strip would look great in Mudd Flapp Mint
Yes!
Very well thought out table
Well done video. I’m a details guy. I imagine most woodworkers and engineering types are. You could have gone on another 20 minutes about dog hole sizes and getting a true 20mm and I wouldn’t have batted an eye.
Great product, this will shake up the market, and support usa
I was thinking of buying the festool mft table but it looks like I might be able to get double the size of the festool with this for less money.

Amazing work Fred! You've covered a lot of ground in this addition to your catalog!
Thanks Greg.

Just order the MFT top and quad tracks for it. I’ll update when I get them all in
Christian!!! Thank you! I’ll get it on the way Monday. Lemme know if you ever need something.

Strat!!! So good to hear from you again. Yes, this line of products has created a lot of potential for me so I've been pursuing that pretty heavily.
Looks like some great products ... hope you get an Australian agent
Thanks Rory. I'd really like to have a few outposts across the world!
Well made video in both production and content!Great ideas for my small shop.
Thank you William. I appreciate you taking a look.
Hi. Does the quad track work with the Festool hinge? And do you deliver to Canada? Thank you
This is very well thought out and looks high quality. Hoping to order one soon
Good, thoughtful presentation. Keep itup
Will you do an imperial version? I think that imperial doghole accessories are less expensive and more available stateside.
One question; can multiple tops connect each other for larger workspace? Do you plan to release connector or larger top?
Can I connect TrackTube to standard T-Track extrusions if I wanted to make my benches out of T-Track?

Will this new top still work on the centipede with your hold down adapters

great stuff
DUDE, HOW BIG IS IT? It's not even on your website.
Seems out of stock now as of 6/25. Do you have any eta when it is back in stock?

But how do you cut a 4' wide board on it? You can lay in on the table because of the dawgs. So how do you square your workpiece to the track?
One solutions it to utilize two tops turned 90 degrees and space accordingly on a pair of 72" or 90" TrackTubes. The dog holes are square to the sacrificial cutting strip so it's easy to line everything up.
@@GotItMade thanks.
When are you going to ship internationally?
Hey Wayne. I am currently working on getting shipping to Canada established. Beyond there I am not sure when.
Hi, is it only one size?
Hey Leslie. Yes, for now one size. Might do some custom things in the future.
Love to have something custom , specifically in the Matte Grey/Black Valchromat (in California there is Trinity Hardwoods)
Very interesting offering! What accessories come with the table? I subscribed to the email so I can place an order!
Thanks Steve. Once the new Quad Track is available there will be an offering for a kit with end caps. Thank you so getting on the subscriber list. I really appreciate it.
Humm...I priced everythig out and to essentially get a working MFT/3 set up you save $20. Am I missing something?
What about using Valchromat? [ e.g. Hooked on Wood or 5 Minute Workshops ] - with Peter Millard.
GREAT to have something American Made. - thanks!🎉
Thanks for watching Joseph. Valchromat is very hard to source domestically and is very expensive. I can't scale this product and still keep the price affordable and competitive using it.
Ok this is nice…
