I've played both games and they are among my favorites. But I honestly don't see how the Dragonborn has even the slightest chance against the Tarnished. Speaking of feats, Tarnished has eliminated a multitude of enemies, demigods and the complete manifestation of two deities: The Greater Will with the Ancestral Beast and Malenia Goddess of Rot and just seeing what Malenia did with a fucking nuke on Caelid is already more than enough to understand what level we are talking about. On the other hand, the only noteworthy feat of the Dragonborn is having defeated Alduin but this is more of a draw because first of all he was helped by the ancients and finally he didn't even definitively defeat Alduin because he wasn't able to absorb the soul therefore only postponed Alduin's inevitable return. Furthermore, the Tarnished is immortal, he holds the power of all the runes, he holds the 9 legendary armaments and he holds the power of destined death which allows him to kill even immortal beings. For example if he were to fight against Alduin as well as winning he would destroy him both in the body than in the soul, completely succeeding in a feat that the Dragonborn had not completely completed. That said, for me there is no comparison, Tarnished beats it on everything
Both have defeated many different types of enemies so that alone doesn't mean much.
The Tarnished defeating the Demi-Gods doesn't mean anything without going further into what the Demi-Gods are capable of. Malenia spreading Scarlet Rot across Caelid isn't really impressive and honestly not worth mentioning when we have Radahn holding up the stars or Ranni being able to create a pocket universe and a prime Rennala.
Goddess of Rot Malenia arguably isn't even in the top 5 strongest opponents that the Tarnished fought against (going by lore).
Currently the Tarnished doesn't hold the power of all the Runes as they don't have Ranni or Miquella's Great Rune (yet).
The Tarnished can scale above Dragonlord Placidusax who lived eternally beyond time which puts him at immeasurable speed.
With the Rune of Death (and potentially a god-slaying weapon) the Tarnished kills the Elden Beast which is the Concept of Order.
The Last Dragonborn defeating Alduin is worth bringing up as the Dragonborn would need speed comparable to Alduin to keep up (Alduin can fly from Nirn to Sovngarde... also even weaker dragons can fly through the currents of time putting even the weaker dragons at immeasurable speed).
The Ancient Tongues that helped against Alduin aren't even worth mentioning... they paled in comparison to Alduin during the Dragon War and even when he attacked Sovngarde, Shor had told them (as well as the other Ancient Nord Heroes) to not fight against Alduin until the Dragonborn arrived which would also include Tsun (who is a God).
Not to mention that the Dragonborn would later go to fight against Miraak who was even more powerful than Alduin was.
Even after absorbing the first Dragon Soul in the Dragonborn's adventure, his power was comparable to half the power of the Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile (and the Daedric Princes can casually control over countless infinite dimensional realms within Oblivion and embody concepts).
Alduin is inevitable. He can't truly be slain just delayed. Destined Death actually wouldn't work against Alduin. Yes... the Rune of Death is the concept of death in Elden Ring and can nullify immortality but... beings like Alduin are above the concepts of life and death. Even beings far below Alduin like the Daedric Princes are beyond those concepts as well.l
The Tarnished is immortal but he doesn't have any known resistance to losing his soul. So... he can be put into a state similar to Godwyn.
Both the Tarnished and the Dragonborn are really powerful but this just isn't a fight.
I like Elden Ring and Elder Scrolls but using the lore for both, the Tarnished just isn't anywhere near how absurdly powerful the Dragonborn is.
@@TheFirstDragonbornMiraakbro you literally took the words right from me. I just got into Elden ring and have been playing elders scrolls 20+ years. While I’d like to imagine if you put either in the opposing worlds from a blank start the tarnished would prosper, but power potentials and kill feats go to dragon born. Simply because of how absurd the writing for their deities are.
Not to mention lore wise they do it all in one go while the tarnished seem to have endless attempts.
@@Kooshywooshy The main problem if we swapped them to the opposing world at a blank start is that the Tarnished would be forced to do it all in one go. If I recall main reason for their immortality is due to the Grace of the Erdtree.
This also raises another question. How would this change how they get stronger/improve.
The Dragonborn can get stronger/improve in a variety of ways even without a Finger Maiden. Meanwhile the Tarnished's main sources of improving (through runes and being able to take multiple attempts) are gone so they would have to learn to improve other ways.
I could go into more detail but I'm going to stop before this comment becomes too long.
if the dragonborn was lore acurate. it would be negative defeat. he scales so mutch higher its not funny.

@@ANOMLY-w5yPeople tend to forget that the souls borne games including er have one thing going for them. They are massively expanding multiverses where their universes overlap. This is why coop and invasions are canon to begin with.

Db beat alduin who can eat kalpa which is infinite in size and eats life death and time and he killed miraak who has over 5,000 years and is stronger then alduin

How often do people account for the fact that gameplay wise and ultimately lore wise, the dragonborn would just be a boss that the Elden Lord would need to learn the moves for. Yeah blah blah power this power that Alduin and shit but if we take plot armor out of the picture here, EL winning is an inevitability. He WILL eventually make the Dovakiin slip up, he WILL learn to outplay and evade him, as well as pierce his defense, and as we saw with Shadow of the Erdtree, the Elden Lord is not above picking fruit from other trees if he can’t bridge the gap (scadutree fragments). If he needs more power, he has near infinite lives to start over and get stronger in another way before going back to Dovakiin for a rematch. Everyone has gotten so stuck in power scaling that you forget who you’re talking about. The Elden Lord is the incarnation of the indomitable human spirit. Your fancy ‘thoom’ can’t keep that down. Dovakiin fighting him the first time might be a curb stomp, yes, but with a Tarnished…death in combat is only a setback.
The dragonbron can freeze or paralyze it. Turn it into chicken or cheese with the Wabbajack or even other things...
