@@calebwilliams790 true, but his susanoo is a ridiculous battle hack, and the ability to pull it off endlessly without sleep or blindness setting in, even weakened, can pull of more kills than he ever could. Like they said though we have very few battles where itachi is actually going for the kill.

It's sad to see Itachi die when he was 21 years old, I really wish to see him age like Obito and see how strong he would get.
The main thing about Itachi is all his feats are done without intent to kill or showcase his true strength. He is literally one of the few actual shinobi in the series. He always has a backup plan, is a jack of all trades(arguably master of all), and always hides his true intentions. I personally believe it's hard to say for certain where his talents cap out. I believe he was written in a way that was meant to keep the reader guessing and never display his full fighting profile.

Bad Mojo the main thing about Itachi is Kishi. He is an Uchihatard and Itachi is one of his faveorites. He himself admitted he likes Uchihas very much and it affected his writing and almost ruined the plot specially Shitpuuden where everything is about Uchihas and nothing really matters. He had to sort things out and may be did a lot of retcons. He gave them too much IQ and OP jutsu. It is ridicoulus and sickening. Itachi at age 7 is Kage level IQ and Uchihas possesing all these one shot gameshark abilities such as Amaterus, Tsukuyomi, Izanagi, Izanami etc w/c are pratically plot no jutsu come on that is so lame.
Bad Mojo tbh, we’ve never seen Itachi with his full potential, there maybe greater things Itachi could do but didn’t just see it and I hate that. It’s so unfair when they compare him to Minato and Obito when we have all seen both their full potential but never seen Itachi’s. Itachi barely even moves in his battles(excluding Sasuke) , he just stands there and toys then with genjutsu. I wanted to see more of him, he’s a lovable character.

The Naruto verse showcases stories of people with little innate talent, but tons of practice making them excellent ninjas. It also showcases those with extreme innate talent and also tons of practice which makes them phenomenal ninja. But I think the most prime example of someone with probably great innate talent, but little effort to hone it would be Asuma. He was the son of Sarutobi FFS.

The biggest problem with Itachi Uchiha is we never really see him healthy and in his prime.
I do not doubt that Itachi is one of the most tactical and intelligent characters in the series. The problem is we just don’t ever really SEE that.

He was always sick, and never accomplished his goal, even when he was brought back from the dead and tried to talk sense into Sasuke one last time. He is great, but narratively he has never lived up to the impossible hype given to him by the characters in Naruto.
reanimated itachi is pretty much more powerful than in his prime while he was alive, infinite chakra reserves, same arsenal of jutsus, and he's still weaker than naruto perfect kcm mode, dms obito, dms kakashi, ems sasuke, dms madara, hashirama senju, tobirama senju, namikaze minato, hiruzen sarutobi, sharinnegan obito, kakashi/guy combination, guy 7th gate was able to make madara dodge and praise him from the very start, and this was six path madara, so, he's weaker than guy 7th gate, i'd say he's also weaker than yellow mask obito and 4th ninja war ms kakashi, he and inexperienced ems sasuke were for a fact weaker than sage kabuto, the only reason they won was because izanami, itachi is not that strong when you compare it to characters of such tiers

Itachi escaped Jiraiya because he was a spy. He intentionally used his mangekyo sharingan (in front of Kisame) before fighting Jiraiya so that he would have an excuse to leave the village. For orochimaru, don't forget that Itachi cut off his arm when he tried to take the sharingans.
But speaking of orochimaru beating hiruzen, don't forget that hiruzen was in his 60s or even 70s. Kishimoto downplayed hiruzen a lot

They were given the title as the three greatest ninja of THEIR TIME. as of now in naruto they’re much older and have served their time and have retired. Knowing all of this even Tsunade who almost NEVER engaged in combat was able to last almost an entire day against Madara with the five Kage. This literally should say it all that even when she’s old as fuck she can literally hold her own and lead with the 5 Kage against MADARA UCHIA. While itachi is pretty powerful I feel like underestimating these three can be pretty ignorant. But there is way too many variables like age, and not being an active fighter that plays into why they could or could not lose against itachi

I think of it like this, Itachi would beat Jiraiya. Not as easily as lifting his finger or smth, he'd have to fight, but I see the chance of him losing to Jiraiya as quite slim. But madara, hell no
To me it seems like the only reason Kisame said what he did in part 1 is because they were actually trying to keep a low profile and not fight anyway. I don't remember exactly what they were in Konoha for but it wasn't to start an all out war. Fighting Jiraya would've at least drawn a major amount of attention and that wasn't the goal.

I think when Jiraiya faced Itachi and Kisame, the intent of the writer was to imply that he could actually solo them. This was a Sannin hype moment that never paid of because THEN POWERCLIFFING HIT REALLY HARD so Jiraiya ended up being really weak compared to a lot of people, he scales more to the bottom half of Akatsuki. I still think he could probably take Kisame if he has intel on him, but Itachi, no way, Itachi blinks him to death, though maybe Sage Mode could help, I dunno. Honestly even Orochimaru looks really weak when compared to later Shippuden/War Arc people, like War Arc Gaara could probably wipe Orochimaru, War Arc Kakashi just laughs at him and throws a billion chidoris at him.
Even back then it was contradictory. Orochimaru was hyped as the strongest Sannin, but none, absolutely none of the Akatsuki feared him and all argued over who should get the honor to kill him. Deidara was even angry that Sasuke killed Orochimaru before he could.
Yet we're expected to believe that the Akatsuki feared Jiraiya, who is hyped in the ninja world as weaker than Oro? Doesn't make sense.

I love Jiraiya to death, but Itachi is just too much for him. Orochimaru was taken down in one glance from Itachi, and he's a Sannin just like Jiraiya. None of the Sannin are a total joke; even Tsunade showed her true prowess in the Kage fight against Madara. But Itachi has so many feats that it's hard for Jiraiya to beat him. Jiraiya gives him a good fight, but it's going to go to Itachi.

You could even look at things this way.
The big behind the scenes antagonist in the original Naruto story line is Orochimaru. Orochimaru has this giant plan to infiltrate the leaf using the exams and then attacks the exams and fights the hokage. He does all of this in order to get a shot at snatching up Sasukes body to claim it for his own. He goes through ALL of this effort because it's easier to do this than for him to try and face off against Itachi again.

Additionally, even with Orochimaru saying that, he's basically wrong. Sasukes normal Sharingan wasn't any more powerful than Itachi's (or at least we're not lead to believe Sasuke himself was more powerful) and Sasukes Mangekyō Sharingan, so far as we're shown, was literally only half of what Itachi's was. I say this because Itachi gained Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu, while Sasuke only gained Amatersu. I'm excluding Susanoo as it would seem any Uchiha that awakens both Mangekyo also awakens a Susanoo.
Sasuke was basically gifted any of his special powers such as Rinnegan.
So I looked up the video of Itachi and Kisame encountering Jiraiya and...wow! People really do think Jiraiya is some god. Someone said he could’ve soloed the AKATSUKI! My soul left my body and traveled to the 7th dimension after I read that 😭
Probably they meant he COULD have beaten any of them 1vs1 (with the exception of Pain, actually the only one we saw). Kisame could trash Killer B, i suppose he could put up a fight. But Jiraiya has an impressive and diverse arsenal of Jutsus, he is likely one of the few characters in the series that can be truly called a ninja.

I love how 'real' Jiraiya's style is. Even as one of the strongest, he never feels OP. It always feels like he's one good hit away from getting killed but he overcomes. His technique list feels like stuff he's picked up over a lifetime of ninja-ing, be it all his frog stuff or his hair jutsus or various elemental attacks or his genjutsu. Others, like I dunno, Itachi or Kisame feel like they were born knowing all their techniques since they all follow a strict theme. At Jiraiya's best, he can beat Kage level dudes yet he does so with all sorts of smaller jutsus that just make him feel real, I dunno. I feel like I could drop a piano on Naruto and he'd just say OW OW OW and have a bump on his head, Jiraiya I could slash with a kitchen knife if it weren't for the speed and timing hes developed over a lifetime to where he turns ME into a kitchen knife with genjutsu

He can seal Amaterasu
He can use his detection barrier to fight with his eyes closed to counter genjutsu.
Has 3 huge summons that can rival an imperfect One Tails in strength.
Can hide in shadows like an actual ninja.
Hair jutsu strong enough to defeat large summons.
Master Shadow Clone strategist (look at Jiraiya vs Pain)
Can use Swamp of the Underworld to sink Itachi's Susano'o as he could sink a massive snake of Orochimaru's when he was just 30% power (this snake is bigger than Itachi's Susano'o.
Bath of boiling Oil is a huge tidal wave of boiling oil that is very hard to avoid, and would engulf Susano'o (it didn't work on Pain because he absorbed it)
Sage Art Frog Song would likely put Itachi under genjutsu as Kabuto managed to with just Tayuya's flute genjutsu.
Basically it comes down to the fact that Jiraiya has a counter for almost everything Itachi has, then it comes down to Sage Jiraiya just mopping Itachi up after he's out of Susano'o.

Orochimaru was on the verge of dying with his body rejecting him and he was still more than holding his own against an older Naruto than the one that almost killed Jiraiya lol. You remember that the fight ended with Orochimaru having the upper hand by slamming Naruto across the forest and almost stabbing him with the sword of Kisangani? Everything Naruto did, Orochimaru either just healed himself back to normal or countered. He was literally never in danger of dying (even the Bijuu bomb didn’t work) and even if he was, he still had the Hydra form.

Kisame is a hard counter for Bee because of samehada since all of his attacks will steal chakra and Bee becomes a bigger target as he transforms so its easier for kisame to steal it. The raikage has better speed feats since we never got to see him use samehada against 7th gate guy who also had to severely hold back with his hirodora to not kill him. The raikage is also lightning style and worth one arm could shatter sasuke susano rib cage so one hit from him is a severe injury to kisame and unless kisame can hit the raikage (which is pretty unlikely given Kisame doesnt have enough speed feats with samehadas swing speed to say so). But his whole water prison jutsu could work but you could also say that the raikages lightning style would electrocute the entire sphere and damage kisame in it. But again, this is also my opinion. Just wanted to give my 2 cents ✌

Also kisame does not have the AP advantage. The raikage is much stronger unless you can provide feats that say otherwise. His chakra stealing is an issue... if he could hit him. I'm pretty sure if kisame was close to the speed of the raikage they would've mentioned it somewhere in the series since the 4th raikages speed tends to be a reference for speed like with Naruto and Minato

Itachi could destroy Orochimaru because hes his cryptonite. Itachi has a great awareness and never underestimates opponents. In Taijutsu Jiraiya would probably be much stronger than Itachi as he has Senjutsu and Itachi relies more on mid range attacks. Jiraiya wouldnt have a chance against susanoo as he wouldnt be strong enough to break it. Also Jiraiyas swamp of the underworld would easily be nullified by the shield.
