    Voice control
    The Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are built right in, so you can play music, check news, set alarms, get your questions answered, and more, completely hands free.
    Mute for privacy
    Turn the microphone off with a tap. The LED light is hardwired and will also turn off so you know your voice assistant isn't listening.
    Expand your sound system
    When you're ready, wirelessly connect more Sonos speakers and enjoy listening in more rooms.
    Build out your home theater
    Wirelessly connect Sonos Sub and a pair of One SL rears (sold separately) for an even more immersive listening experience.
    Customized sound
    Trueplay™ puts the speaker-tuning capability of the pros in the palm of your hands, adapting and optimizing the sound of the speaker to the unique acoustics of the room.
    Magnetic sensor
    Detects when Arc is mounted and smartly adjusts the EQ to temper bass resonance.
    Ambient light sensor
    Arc detects how bright the room is and automatically adjusts the brightness of the LEDs to be visible but not distracting.
    Hear every word
    Arc was specially tuned with the help of Oscar-winning sound engineers to emphasize the human voice so you can always follow the story. Turn on Speech Enhancement in the app to clarify dialogue when characters talk quietly or action intensifies.
    Wi-Fi
    Stream via your Wi-Fi network, and wirelessly connect more Sonos speakers to expand your sound system.
    Simplified setup
    Bring your phone up to Arc to automatically pair and securely transfer Wi-Fi credentials using near-field communication (NFC).
    Eleven high-performance drivers
    Arc's advanced processing creates five phased-array channels that masterfully deliver sound to your ears from all directions at the exact right moment.
    HDMI eARC
    Increased bandwidth supports high-quality audio and has lip-sync compensation built in.
    Blends in beautifully
    With its elongated shape, soft profile, and seamless facade, Arc discreetly mounts to the wall or sits beneath the TV without pulling focus.
    Capacitive touch controls
    Play, pause, skip tracks, adjust the volume, and group rooms just by tapping or swiping the top of the soundbar.
    3D sound with Dolby Atmos
    Experience shows, movies, and games with the precise and immersive sound of Dolby Atmos. Arc's upward-firing drivers create a multi-dimensional soundstage that then moves around you, rendering every whisper and explosion with dramatic clarity, detail, and depth.

    I was seriously considering Sonos Arc, but I decided to go with Vizio 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos. It was $500 and really couldn't find anything in that price range that gave you everything with Dolby Atmos. With Sonos, I just wasn't really sure if I wanted to spend that much, cause I know I would want a sub at some point and maybe satellite speaker, but it would have cost me nearly $2000 to get everything.
    For the vaulted ceilings, here's a crazy idea, what if you used large, flat sheets of some hard material, it can be wood, or plexiglass that hung vertical, as a simulated flat ceiling, large enough to reflect the sound down to the listening area.
    I think some kind of system can be implemented. Like a fixed piece of hardware that can have a dual purpose, like it can hold objects on top to give it some kind of impression it's meant to be decorative. Or maybe something like a movable fixture, where it can retract, or be lowered down. Like how you draw curtains, or blinds.

      If you seen the triangular looking piece of fabric, I beleive they are called sails because they resemble the ship sales, intended to be hung outside horizontally using slim cables or strong fishing lines. It could work.

    Please do the LG SN11YG sound bar. I can’t decide which one to get but will decide between the two. Sonos in the end will cost a little more than the LG with the sub and satellite speakers added but the LG has upward firing speakers on the satts also for Dolby Atmos. I can’t decide 🤦🏽‍♂️

      @Long Chorizo - I’m in a similar boat. I have two One SL’s and picked up my ARC (however, the Gen2 Sub won’t ship until 6/17), but I also ordered the SN11NR (which should be delivered today) in order to compare which one is right for me. If a RUclips review comes out before my Sub comes in next week, then I’ll return the SN11NR unopened depending on the winner in the review!

    • @longchorizo3435
      @longchorizo3435 4 года назад +1

      I honestly don’t think you can go wrong either way. LG has Meridian sound which is excellent as well. The last thing I want to see before I make my decision is finding out if having the upward firing speakers on the satts would create a noticeable difference with atmos. My room is rectangular but my ceiling isn’t completely flat and is high up so I need to see which one will likely bounce the sound off the ceiling the best. Decisions decisions..lol🧐 Right now my gut is saying that sonos is slightly winning but its close.

    1: Are there any wireless true surround sound home theater options out there? I assume Sonos may get there one day, but I was wondering if there is anything on the market at this point.
    2: Do you guys actually manage to hide away speaker cables properly without the need to lay a floor mat?

    You did not talk about HDMI Arc Vs. eArc Vs. Optical or what's needed in the chain to actually get Atmos. A video on how to setup a Sonos product without details like that is like a video on how to eat with a fork. Not necessary unless you are 2 years old.

    Vaulted ceilings are such a challenge for Atmos and DTS-X man. We currently are trying to figure a solution to this in an extremely irregularly shaped living room/kitchen area. Echoes can be horrendous.
    Also are you in Colorado? We have pines and mountains like there here in North Idaho, but sunlight like that tends to only by in the higher elevations.

    Hey brother, can Sonos app show you when Dolby atmos is in or not? I do have an arc hdmi in my TV but I don't have an earc, but did some research and they say even tho you have only arc atmos is still transmitted. I bought this beam few days ago but didn't have too much time to play with its features. Like this walk around with your phone, don't even know where to find this setup option.

    Is there any point in getting this if your tv doesn’t support eARC? I assume since it only has 1 arc input that without eARC you won’t get atmos.

    • @MrHistory05
      @MrHistory05 4 года назад +3

      Atmos is carried on 2 different formats, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus. Physical media (Blu-ray/4k disc) is the only way to get TrueHD Atmos, which is the best possible since it's lossless, but only obtained via eARC. Streaming can only carry Digital Plus, which will still handle Atmos, just in a lossy quality via ARC. So if a majority of your movie watching is via streaming, then eARC doesn't matter. This will still get Atmos in the Dolby Digital Plus format via ARC.

      Hi I got my arc today with the thought of using it with my xboz one x as I have the dolby access app and was hoping to get dolby atmos but I only have hdmi arc and it doesn't seem to out put the dolby atmos, but does allow dolby digital and dolby dts ex which sound brilliant.
      So the looks like you do need eARC to get dolby digital, my set up is the arc sonos white sub and two sonos play ones and it sounds amazing, I had the playbar which I upgraded from and must say there is a real big difference in sound quality and the added bonus of alexa built in is brilliant as you can get it to pause TV turn off TV and also control your xbox
      Hope this helps

    I wouldn't recommend because of the following. Only one HDMI port, no DTS support, no PCM support (possible support in future upgrade). Most current TV's don't currently support eARC. With manufacturers also NOT commiting to future firmware upgrades to add it. Also for the TV's that do support it, some do not pass Dolby Atmos to external devices (examples Apple TV, Nivida Shield). Sonos competitors currently support a better range of sound profiles, as well as more HDMI ports which allow you to by pass the limitations of your current TV...

    I have the arc and a Sonos sub… This system is terrible. Music might be great, but the dialogue in movies is way too low. I’ve tried everything to fix this including true-play tuning with multiple Apple devices, using different streaming sources, turning loudness off and on, attaching to both my LG GX and my QN90A, turning speech enhancement off and on, and playing with height audio, playing with the eq, and calling a $300 per hour audio specialist who installs this crap. It’s still unacceptable. The only thing that gets it close to acceptable is turning the night mode on, speech enhancement on, treble to +2-3, and sub to -1, but night mode destroys the dynamic range. This whole problem could be abated with a single setting that even the most basic Vizio sound bar possess. I’m speaking of left, right, and center volume control for the sound bar. I’m selling this piece of junk and getting a passive sound bar for the LCR, in ceiling surrounds, new sub, and separate dedicated 5.1 amp. Don’t waste your money on this. If you need a sound-bar get the cheapest Vizio SB and you’ll be better off.

      I bought a arc and have had a few friends over to compare it with my current Playbar sub and play 3 surrounds have done multiple A and B demos and almost everyone still chooses Playbar. I love the style of arc but not much difference in sound quality for the price they are asking. I have a Samsung qled that only has arc so the sound settings are very touchy. With Playbar I just set everything to Dolby digital and it just works. I think this Arc might be going back to the store honestly.

      Because they have a monster painting above the fireplace that probably cost 10x the price of the tv.🤷🏻‍♂️ just a thought

    Just bought this sound bar and honestly for nearly 1000 euros [here in France] the sound is a little disappointing. The speakers [for the money] don't have enough bass. Others have said this and so I now find myself having to fork out more money for the sub. It bounces the sound around the room reasonably well but obviously cannot match the true surround sound of a full home theatre system. In all honesty it's over priced for what it is. Would I buy this product again if I knew now what I know, well no. I would go with a true surround system. The speakers simply aren't powerful enough for the money. Simple as.

    Hey was wondering if anyone has gotten dolby digital plus to work on sonos arc... My setup is panasonic ub820 plugged into the samsung one connect box (on a 2017 q7f) - when i play dolby atmos true hd movies on the blu ray player, the sound works but all audio formats are greyed out in the samsung tv menu except for dolby digital...I have never been able to get dolby digital plus to be selectable. Also i tried outputting directly from HDMI audio out port of blu ray player directly to sonos arc and get no sound. i configured all the settings on the player correctly to enable sound output. Any thoughts? Thanks

    Curious about those wireless surround channels, like do they have that issue where they cut out every once in a while? Also the views btw!! 🏔🏔🤩

      Avoid putting a TV above a fireplace at all costs! one of several things wrong with that is when you have to elevate your eyes to watch a TV instead of pretty much looking straight ahead you get fatigue of your eye muscles very quickly.

      Thats if you don't have the distance it appears the room was large enough where that wouldn't matter. People that worry about heat shouldn't if it has a mantle to move the heat away from the TV.

    I'm looking for a soundbar but its going in a wall recess so thinking one's like this with Atmos will be wasted on me because I wont get the full effect?

  • @segayah
    @segayah 4 года назад

    Great! This seems like a great sound bar and I'm interested. However, even though this soundbar has Dolby Atmos technology built in, you're not going to experience the true benefits and potential unless it is receiving/decoding an actual Dolby Atmos source. Have you tried an actual Dolby Atmos source like a 4k disc? Most of these have Dolby Atmos tracks and even some regular Blu-ray disc have Dolby Atmos tracks.

    Beautiful house but basically the worst place to demo this, not intended for rooms with vaulted ceilings, as you say. The up-firing speakers phase and bounce sounds off the ceiling to simulate dolby atmos height channels. You wandered round the room performing the trueplay adjustment but neglected to say that is iOS only, mentioned the optical adaptor for older TV's but not the fact that you won't get Atmos with that, plus you demo a streaming movie which is not true lossless Atmos audio. You need a newer TV with eARC and a 4k bluray player or xbox one s/x and physical media to do this justice. Poor review from a professional imo.

    I bought an Arc based on reviews like this one. Can't hear an Atmos effect whatsoever, and the bass is non existent. Probably going back.

    • @aaronfuller4800
      @aaronfuller4800 4 года назад +1

      Well If you want bass you should have bought a Sonos Subwoofer as well the Sonos Arc and or Playbar's are not meant to provide bass in all reality they are meant to be accompanied with a Sonos Sub but if you were to get a Sonos Sub as well they pound and are one of the better subwoofers at their price point with a very small footprint compared to other subs anywhere in their price range honestly. without a sub with the arc or playbar they are very much lacking on the low end of the audio spectrum however you should not expect a sound bar to provide adequate bass in an audio system seriously.

    • @petermaz701
      @petermaz701 4 года назад +1

      You need to get the subwoofer and the ones to complete your whole system, as far as getting Dolby Atmos it will come up in the App if it’s receiving the signal.You have to play a HRD DVD it has to have Dolby Atmos in it. I bought a demo dvd one from Amazon and it’s phenomenal.
