All I can say is wow. I have over 10k in sonos systems and can truly tell you I haven’t went this in depth in learning what my systems can do. Subscribed and look forward to your other videos.
I've really been learning a lot about my recently purchased Sonos system from your channel; this video, in particular, was really informative. I have my sub gen 3 currently in a vertical position facing the MLP, but will now also try it in a horizontal position to see how that configuration sounds. Can't wait for the Era 300s I ordered from Sonos yesterday to arrive on Tuesday to take the Arc and Sub to the next level!
About to add a Sub to my Arc + double One set up. Thank you so much for all the invaluable information about Sonos ecosystem. Couldn't get here without your channel and Sonos really elevated my viewing/gaming experience. I was a bit afraid to add a Sub because I live in a condo, but had to go for it even if it means turning the sub down to next to nothing level because of all the recommendations. Please keep sharing your knowledge! Happy holidays.
Just got my ARC and Gen 3 today and just waiting on the One SL pairs. I’m about to set everything up. I’ve been watching his videos on everything Sonos and he is amazing. Can’t wait to hear this. I got a 2020 LG and it has eARC so it should sound even better than how amazing he already said it sounded.
Happy to share and hope you are impressed with the sound. First time I heard Sonos I was mildly impressed in the store. When I got it home, I was blown away. Sonos demos in stores tend to be at crowded locations and thus noisy environment. In home environment, they shine better.
Peter Pee I’ve had it for almost two weeks now and I really love it. The sub by itself was a huge addition and then the one sl’s added even more depth. The only issue I’ve had is that no matter what I try I don’t get Atmos. I have a 2020 LG Nano 90 tv that has eARC and pass through but it still doesn’t work. Everything in my setup including my hdmi audioquest cables are all eARC compatible so I think it’s my tv. The pass through isn’t working like it should. I doubt it’s the arc because everything is working beautifully and sounds amazing. Just haven’t been able to test the Atmos which is why I purchased it so it’s frustrating 🤦🏽♂️
It could be an LG issue. I’ve heard there were plenty of issues with a new firmware update and you might get some answers if you search in that direction. I don’t have a recent LG tv so I can’t help.
Came across your channel weeks ago and straight of I subscribed am I glad your very helpful and having decided to get the arc now want the sub your so informative
Peter, thank you so much for your beautiful and good advice! You are a professional man! I also own a Sonos system, the sound is amazing, I have a question, I have Sonos arc plus sub gen 3 and two Sonos one SL, is it worth buying a Sonos era 300? Does it add anything to the sound of the whole system?
Fantastic work! Always wanted to see a frequency response graph for the Sub (especially the acoustic port positions tot MLP). Great to see objective measurements to get a baseline for any decision making/thoughts.
Finally an empirical test of the sub performance within the 3 possible orientations. Many ads for Sonos have the slot facing the MLP while I have mine placed sideway beside the tv console to save space. Have always wondered if it was the right way to do it since it contravenes most of the Sonos ads I have seen. I can now conclude that the ads are placing slots facing MLP for the maximum visual effect / presentation :)
Yes, that’s correct. The visuals are immediately associated with Sonos. :) And there is very little difference as Long as you have space for it to ‘breathe’ a little.
Happy for you! Glad that I managed to convince you! You won’t be unhappy with you. You can thank me again after you set it up and watch a couple of movies!
always watching Your videos, i am almost a audiophile person i could say, and thats how i build my sonos system with a sub. using beam and two one’s as surrounds and sub gen3 sounds amazing and its just because Your videos and my own kind of similar knowledge. Trusting You, thank You!
Very helpful video, thank you! I can’t wait to get my Sub and play around with the placement now. Thanks for the idea of under the couch, I actually have an outlet there, I hope I have clearance!
Awesome content. I just ordered an Arc and sub combo from Sonos shipping July 31. I used my 30% coupon for my gen 1 Play 5. Also have a Playbar but thats going upstairs for music. Was only going to get the Arc but with such a big discount I went for the sub too. Gonna run the Arc first on its own and then later on add the Sub to see the difference.
Hi Peter! I just incorporated my new Sub Gen 3 and the enhancement is awesome! Thank you for your informative feedback! Have you done videos on short throw projectors?
Thank you for another great video, very informative. I have my sub behind my sofa between my play 1's that are mounted on my wall 2 feet above my ear level. My sofa is close to the wall
Really wish the arc had hdmi in I like to use my projector which doesn't have Dolby atmos but with sony or Vizio you can get Dolby atmos from your ps5's uhd or firestick max from the hdmi pass through
Either way you place it won’t matter. It will still affect your neighbours if you turn it up too high. You can place a foam pad under the sub so there is less vibration going through the floor but if it’s loud they are still going to hear it.
I have the sonos sub vertically up behind the couch left side room. Using an a sonos arc and two sonos ones. Do we not want that? Sounds and feels good.
The placement is also important for phase alignment of the sub with the stereo pair, ideally it is reinforcing the LF radiation from the stereo par with no lag or gain. My old JL Labs sub had an infinitely variable phase adjustment dial just for that, I'm hoping that truplay does just that; i.e. to correct phase alignment of all speakers as part of its DSP capability.
Great video Peter! This was actually what many of us wanted to know. Maybe two additional questions (haven't checked out all of your videos and maybe I missed some or comments made by others): would you mind doing a video on the right application of Trueplay as well as on the questions how sub characteristics will change through the additional second sub option?
I have 2 Sonos Five with a sub gen 3 sub from about 3 days and trying to find best setup for Music.i fel true play isnt e everytime working well .can i set it off and use the eq for better sound? Also when true playing my Room is very long and i just true play the are where i am listening, should i try cover the entire room?
Doesn’t mean there is a negative. If the room modes supports the blending of the sub well, then the placement at the rear might work well too. For me, the front of the room is where it works. And to the left corner where there is less open space.
Freaking amazing channel! About to buy a Sonos Arc to pair along with my LG OLED from 2016. Looking foward to listen to the ARC and ATMOS sound. Even tho i need a HDFury box. But that's ordered aswell! :D
No I have not tested the positions for the rear channels. Primarily because I don’t have a good place for them! I’ll figure something out and have this added to my video queue.
I got my sub today, I have not got room at the front by TV/ARC, so was going to try at the back of room in the corner, or perhaps under my seating position, horizontally. As for settings I may try loudness on, had it off so far going by other comments. @Peter Pee, do I need to re-run trueplay each time I try the sub in different positions?
@@PeterPee Thanks very much, not tested it yet, but I believe I have at least 6-7 inches free above it like this. I would have followed your advice about having it vertical front facing next to soundbar, but I have not got the space, so hopefully under my seating position will sound ok.
Very interesting videos! Keep up your good work. Please do a video when you compare ”best bass settings and eq settings”. Interesting to see your eq and bass settings to get the best bass and sound.
I’ll do such a video soon after I clear my current video queue. As for the eq, the quick answer for you is that It really depends on your listening preference. For me, I leave the bass at 0 and treble I dial it down -3. The sub gain I use +3.
@@PeterPee I got the subs hooked up Lastnight, the mind is blown,😁 I can't believe the difference it makes..I put the sub in my bedroom under the bed about 2 feet in front of me witch is bang right in the middle of the room and most say it sounds amazing I can't believe I waited so long to get them..i watched few we movie clips Lastnight one was abit of jurassic Park the scene where the dinosaurs are stumping around I literally felt it 😁 I'm going to watch a few blurrys tonight as it was quite late on Lastnight the time I got them hooked up...but so far massive 👍 up......I'm loving them 👍.....
You’re heaping praise on them and that’s good! I have never recommended a sub to anyone and have them call me out for a bad recommendation! Glad that you found them fit for purpose!
What about right behind the couch? With enough space around the sub but very close to the listening position? I'm curious. Or is in front always better?
I find that a front stage is always better. A sonos sub has a tendency to direct attention to itself because of a slightly highest crossover point. So if you place it behind, there is a possibility that you might hear where the sub is, which means less than ideal integration. You should try to push it to the front if you could help it. But, really, in a pinch, anywhere is still fine and you will enjoy it.
Ooohh.. I have never thought of wall mounting a sub before! Well, first off, it's quite heavy so make sure the mount supports it. It doesn't have vibration so that is one less thing to worry about. If you are putting it on furniture, take care to make sure the furniture is strong enough to hold it too! But otherwise, I don't see why there will be problems. Oh ya, remember to give it some room to breathe! Don't close it all up.
Thank you very much for taking the timeand addressing everyone's questions! This question came up because Sonos wrote that the sub is designed to be placed on the floor. I wonder if placing it NOT on the floor will arm the sound. There is the Flexson wall mount for the sub. It looks very good. What do you think about it? Placing it on tv unit is another option. This will allow more options for designing the living room, and will prevent the vacuum robot from depraving the sub How much distance would you recommend keeping between the sub and the wall behind it?
The structure won’t affect the bass as the sub is virtually vibration free. But sub woofers usually benefit from being on the floor and having some bass reinforcement. It might sound a bit thinner if elevated.
The old adage is, subs are almost omni-directional, as we just aren't evolved to be able to descern low frequency direction (our sculls are literally too small) - you will get very minimal improvements by putting them close to your mid range and tweeters - but really for that cinematic feeling, having them anywhere in the room won't make much difference.
I have my Sonos Sub positioned to the right of the tv stand and Sonos Arc standing up. Should the sub be against the wall in this set up? I have it about 10” away from the wall now and am wondering if against is the preferred position?
No. It’s not against the preferred position. I have it about 12 inches away from the wall too. And unless you are lacking bass, you don’t have to move it any nearer against the way.
Thank you Peter for the great video! 1 quick question: 1) You mentioned that during Trueplay, i should place the microphone of the handphone point forward, towards the Arc, do i do it right from the start of Trueplay, and i should just do Trueplay while being seated on the sofa? Even if i were to stand up and move around, i should just do it near my usual sitting position on the sofa and not move closer to the Arc?
Point upwards towards the ceiling when you’re doing the seated part of true play. When you’re walking around, point it towards the arc. You can walk around your listening area. Sometimes true play will tell you that you have not covered enough space. In that case expand the walking a little more.
That is ok, but make sure you have some clearance in front of the acoustic slot. That's the opening in the sub. Give it at the very least 4 inches, if not 6 inches.
Hey mate, I just bought this sub and am wondering if it'll be ok to place it on top of a TV cabinet? Position wise I could place it the left but it would be elevated by about 1.7 ft just behind the sonos arc which will be on the lip of the cabinet.
Hi Peter! If you have a cabinet with acoustically transparent fabric panel on the cabinet door, could the sub go in there? It’s designed for a speaker to go in, but the sub would fit. I know they can go under a couch-so is this any different for performance?
If the air is free to flow then I guess it's ok. You are certain that there is space for the bass frequencies to come out ya? Under a sound, there is space to the front and sides and sometimes back. It's not surrounded 5 out of 6 sides. So if your cabinet is really big, I guess you might be able to get away with it.
great video and insights... keep up the great work. I got a gen 3 and placed it behind the couch and wall... its against the couch, but about 4 inches from the wall. Seems to give the best response for my room. I tried against the couch... open to the other side and didn't like it as much. I don't have the option to place closer to the Arc, wife factor, she didn't want to be able to see the sub at all... less is more to her.
I’m a minimalist at heart too so I can feel what she wants. :) well, the Sonos sub is already as pretty a sub as it gets. And rarely you’re gonna find a sub that you can hide behind the couch!
I originally placed my Sub next to my entertainment console which houses my Soundbar. It was on the RH side facing me. Although it sounded fine, I thought I could better and after experimenting I have it next to between my couch(6 inches away from the couch and 4 inches from the wall) and a side chair perpendicular) facing the TV and Soundbar. To me it just sounds better.
That space is helping your sub reinforce the bass. That’s something that might appeal to quite a few users. If that doesn’t draw attention to The sub’s location, then it’s a great option.
Peter, in order to protect the SUB Gen 2 from my roomba vacuum, I keep it on the floor, "sitting" in the foam case in which it was originaly packaged... If I am not mistaken, it should not affect the sound or anything else. Love your videos, informative and detailed.
Awesome review and thanks for posting video's like these, I can 'mostly' understand. Question: I plan to move into a house with a great room of approx. 20 X 25. Will the Sonos Sub Gen be a good choice?
Yes, absolutely. In a room of that size, you should definitely use a sub to supplement the sound of the main sonos Speakers. Just to be clear, the sub on its own doesn't make music ya. You need to pair it with a sonos speaker.
Great video! I like the amount of information you provided. I have a couple of questions. Would having the sub about a foot away to the left of the television potentially damage the television due to the magnetic power from the sub gen 3? What is the television that you're using?
I would always retune with I.O.S. Trueplay if I move my speakers around. It can be hit or miss to retune with every Sonos App update. I don't retune after updates if I'm happy with the current sound profile.
Another great video!! I would tell anyone wanting sub power to buy the Nakamichi 9.2.4. Two subs in this system creates an amazing sound. 🔈 🔊 I put one on each side of my living room and wow! 🤩
Peter Pee excellent points on the placement of the subs. I had two subs with the Nakimachi but experimented with them around the room. Then put the rear and side speakers a ear 👂 level. It makes the Atmos sound more immersive. 👌🏽🤙🏽🙏🏽👍🏽🖖🏽 excellent points on this video!!! So with the Nakimachi making sure all sounds around you are even. 🙌🏽
Yes. For subs, opposite diagonals of the room work well for me. If you’re into setting of phase you can tune to the point the combined output is maximised at your MLP.
@Peter Pee, can you recommend any content to adjust the EQ settings and Sub volume, I'm using negative values but feel its a little weak, if I raise it into + range though it can become loud and boomy, at the moment I have sub volume at -4 and bass at -3. Also are you using the settings in your best arc settings? Thank you
I am using the following settings for my arc with sub and paired with play:3 for surrounds: Trueplay: ON Bass: -4 Treble: -6 Loudness : ON Night sound : OFF Speech enhancement : OFF Sub Level -5
By the way if your setup is sounding boomy the other major possibility is the room interaction and the placement of the sub. You can try moving the sub out of the corners or away from the walls.
@@PeterPee maybe not boomy, just a little loud and rumbly at times, but guess thats normal for some movie content, Netflix 6 Underground is good test for the sub in 1st 10minutes of movie :-), but thats when I had it in + values. I also dont have rear surround speakers in my setup. I just tweaked a bit more and for now settled on -3 bass and -2 sub level. Thanks
Hey Peter- Question: I am running 2 subs in my home theatre. A gen 1 placed in a front left position and a gen 3 in a right rear position. Would it be recommended to switch each sub’s position for the other based on the different models running or would that be a waste of time and effort. Trueplay has been run and will be completed again if a move is done. Much appreciated!
In my experience, the difference is marginal. I don't think you can hear it to be clearly different. The Sub gen 2 and 3 have subtle differences between them but both being ported, too little to warrant the extra work.
Thank you Peter! I’m looking to buy my first SONOS kit and your videos are proving invaluable with your attention to detail and knowledge of the products. Question: would you recommend I purchase and introduce the following all at once, or do it piece by piece: SONOS ARC (Wall Mounted), Sub Gen 3, and one pair of One SL speakers (wall mounted behind sofa)?
Hey, if you are getting into Sonos first, then I say do it piece by piece. You’ll get wowed every time you add a new pice if equipment to it. The feeling is great! So get used to the sound and then when you’re just about familiar, add another component. And repeat! The order I’d recommend is : arc, followed by one sl for surround, following by sub gen 3. You will be blown away at every stage! Time the about 3 weeks apart. Oh gosh I am just so excited about it thinking it through for you!
Great video! It answered some questions I had for some time now. However, I have seen some people positioning the sub on TV stands next to TVs and soudnabars. Would that be okay as there are no vibrations ?
Well I actually never had it so high up before. When it’s on the floor, the floor actually acts as reinforcement to the sound for the bass to be stronger. Being higher up might compromise a bit on the output levels.
Thanks for the video. My question is what kind of floor do you have? I would think that the results would change quite a bit between carpet vs hardwood.
Hardword. Definitely will change the sound profile. Most of the videos I make are based on my surroundings. I try to even out as many variables as possible but I can't ensure that my room is the same as anyone's room. I would say that take it as a starting point and then you can figure out what works for you.
Hi peter. I currently have a beam will it be too overwhelming if I add on a sub. I am Afraid I not able to utilise the sub and will be waste of money. Anyway I live in Sg HDB with a small room.
No. Not at all. The sub helps with Low bass frequencies and at lower volume helps make your bass audible and felt. Also it helps the beam focus its amplification on the higher frequencies too so everything sounds better.
Thanks for all of your videos. I’ll receive my sub gen 3 tomorrow and helped me a lot finding the best placement. I understand that if I add the sub to my beam gen 2 and fives as surround it will automatically adjust or optimize the sound. However, I have another five and a one on the same room, if I group all of them, it will be optimized too? Or I will need to adjust the bass level of the five and one? Thanks again !
The sound optimisation is not auto per say. You have to set it up using trueplay. The extra fives and ones you add to your physical space is not going to be automatically tuned though.
Hello Peter. I have been watching your videos and they are fantastic. You really are an expert in the subject matter. I have a question. Due to space constraint i will need to keep the Sonos sub laying flat just under the Sonos arc. Will that create affect the sound quality. I am planning to buy soon.
All I can say is wow. I have over 10k in sonos systems and can truly tell you I haven’t went this in depth in learning what my systems can do. Subscribed and look forward to your other videos.
What did you buy for 10k 😮 ?
@@2SEXY I have 15 different amps, not counting the cost of the subs, play 5’s, beams, 2 arcs, 3 moves. I don’t have the roam hahah

Make sure you plug it on the HDMI port marked ARC on your TV.
@@josephkampilimba6899 I guess that's kinda self explanatory. 😅
Does ur 2016 TV have ARC HDMI? most important to have ARC
Hello. Thank you. Great work. Have you done a video for positioning the play 1's for the arc surround sound. Height, distance etc??
No I have not tested the positions for the rear channels. Primarily because I don’t have a good place for them! I’ll figure something out and have this added to my video queue.
I got my sub today, I have not got room at the front by TV/ARC, so was going to try at the back of room in the corner, or perhaps under my seating position, horizontally. As for settings I may try loudness on, had it off so far going by other comments. @Peter Pee, do I need to re-run trueplay each time I try the sub in different positions?
From my testing horizontal position yields marginally better bass output. Make sure you have enough clearance above the sub though!
@@PeterPee Thanks very much, not tested it yet, but I believe I have at least 6-7 inches free above it like this. I would have followed your advice about having it vertical front facing next to soundbar, but I have not got the space, so hopefully under my seating position will sound ok.
Under the seat has its advantages too. Sometimes you can literally feel the bass.
Can't you fix most of this via the SONOS room calibration procedure?
Very interesting videos! Keep up your good work. Please do a video when you compare ”best bass settings and eq settings”. Interesting to see your eq and bass settings to get the best bass and sound.
I’ll do such a video soon after I clear my current video queue. As for the eq, the quick answer for you is that It really depends on your listening preference.
For me, I leave the bass at 0 and treble I dial it down -3. The sub gain I use +3.
Peter pee excellent video, you've just saved me a lot of time thanks.. I'm getting subs today at 4.00pm so hopefully get them setup later 👍.....
Woohoo! It’s coming! Have fun and enjoy them!
@@PeterPee thanks for the reply. Great content from users perspective.
Awesome video ! Thanks so much. Now I can enjoy some good action movies.
Would be nice to see the mesurements if placed under a sofa or in a corner facing away
I wanted to do that video! But my couch doesn’t have enough clearance to slot the sub under.
First, really like your channel! Great videos!
What about placing the sub on furniture, or using a wall mount?
This will allow more options for designing the living room, and will prevent the vacuum robot from depraving the sub
How much distance would you recommend keeping between the sub and the wall behind it?
I’d recommend at lest a 4” clearance and if you can allow for it, 6”.
And Subwoofers are usually on the floor because it helps reinforce the bass for extra output.
Thank you!
How does the sub sound on a cabinet shelf. There is no obstruction and only adds elevation. Does this affect the sound negatively?
The structure won’t affect the bass as the sub is virtually vibration free. But sub woofers usually benefit from being on the floor and having some bass reinforcement. It might sound a bit thinner if elevated.
The old adage is, subs are almost omni-directional, as we just aren't evolved to be able to descern low frequency direction (our sculls are literally too small) - you will get very minimal improvements by putting them close to your mid range and tweeters - but really for that cinematic feeling, having them anywhere in the room won't make much difference.
Peter, what is I have the space only behind my seating position, between the surrounds?
Yes that will be fine too. Enjoy the surround!
Thimbnails for your videos are exceptional. Kudos to the designer.
Hey thanks for the feedback!
1 quick question:
1) You mentioned that during Trueplay, i should place the microphone of the handphone point forward, towards the Arc, do i do it right from the start of Trueplay, and i should just do Trueplay while being seated on the sofa? Even if i were to stand up and move around, i should just do it near my usual sitting position on the sofa and not move closer to the Arc?
Point upwards towards the ceiling when you’re doing the seated part of true play. When you’re walking around, point it towards the arc. You can walk around your listening area. Sometimes true play will tell you that you have not covered enough space. In that case expand the walking a little more.
Thank you for your reply and great advice!
Hi I’ve sonos arc and sun gen 3 . Is it good idea to place woofer back of the seat in corner ?
That is ok, but make sure you have some clearance in front of the acoustic slot. That's the opening in the sub. Give it at the very least 4 inches, if not 6 inches.
Pete, can you have one Sub ( front right ) facing you while the rear Sub ( back left ) diagonal corner facing side ways ?
Great video with lots of unbiased information. Thank you for making these videos Peter!
Hi Pete! What do you think of wallmounting the subwoofer?
Just bought flexson Wall mount. Where should i put it?
great video and insights... keep up the great work.
Just moved my sub near my ARC. Thanks
The Sonos sub is amazingly resilient to wherever it is sitting. The cabinet vibration is almost non existent.
@@PeterPee there are no vibrations. I was jus worried that the packaging foam in which it sits blocks air. Can I send you a pic of my setup somehow?
You can try to send a picture to my full name at gmail?
@@PeterPee I did...
@@PeterPee Peter, i am sorry for bothering. Did you get my e-mail?
Thanks for valuable inputs
Peter should we Retune Trueplay after we move the sub to the new position? Or is that not necessary?
I would always retune with I.O.S. Trueplay if I move my speakers around. It can be hit or miss to retune with every Sonos App update. I don't retune after updates if I'm happy with the current sound profile.
Another great video!! I would tell anyone wanting sub power to buy the Nakamichi 9.2.4. Two subs in this system creates an amazing sound. 🔈 🔊 I put one on each side of my living room and wow! 🤩
Yeah, Two subs always better than one. :) evens out the bass response very well.
Will you be doing how to place Sonos Sub Mini?
Yes! I am working extensively on that video. It requires some really really hard work.. You will get it when I release that video.
Hi great information. Which mic and software are you using to capture frequency response?
I am using a umik-1 and REW software!
This is so helpful, thank you.
Hi Pete. Is it ok to place the sonos sub sideways? Because the width of about 41cm is abit too wide. It might block my TV.
Yes, just ensure that at least one side of the acoustic port has at least 6 inches to breathe.
@@PeterPee Thanks so much Peter! 😊
Thank you
I am using the following settings for my arc with sub and paired with play:3 for surrounds:
Trueplay: ON
Bass: -4
Treble: -6
Loudness : ON
Night sound : OFF
Speech enhancement : OFF
Sub Level -5
By the way if your setup is sounding boomy the other major possibility is the room interaction and the placement of the sub. You can try moving the sub out of the corners or away from the walls.
@@PeterPee maybe not boomy, just a little loud and rumbly at times, but guess thats normal for some movie content, Netflix 6 Underground is good test for the sub in 1st 10minutes of movie :-), but thats when I had it in + values. I also dont have rear surround speakers in my setup.
I just tweaked a bit more and for now settled on -3 bass and -2 sub level.
Thanks
I believe you’re on the right track. The Sonos sub delivers and sometimes a little too much. A bit into the negative region should tame it a little.
I am running a gen 1 and gen 3. Should I see how a position switch works with those generations?
Please enable subtitles
@@PeterPee yep, I think this happen, but decided to ask 😁. Thanks for the response
This is how mine is, and it sounds fine. I can’t imagine what it would sound like if it was on the floor 🤯
Peter Pee All your video is clear, useful and straightforward. Looking forward for more of your video. Anyway thank for your advise.
Thank you for your very kind support!
But you can definitely perform trueplay on them too.
Peter, when adding the sub with the arc - does the sound re-disperse between the arc and sub automatically or does it just rely on TRUEPLAY?
It will be automatic. You don't need trueplay.
Love your vids. Great job!
Thanks Scott!
Hello Peter. I have been watching your videos and they are fantastic. You really are an expert in the subject matter. I have a question. Due to space constraint i will need to keep the Sonos sub laying flat just under the Sonos arc. Will that create affect the sound quality. I am planning to buy soon.
It depends on your environment but that will work. Bear in mind also that Sony did intend for the Sub to be placed on the side.
