My baby daddy got psychosis after the birth of our daughter. Sadly no one seems to think dads can get them cause no one believed me. I had to snap him out of it. Between giving birth to a premi of 34 weeks, lying in the hospital with anxiety being away from home and a husband thinking Im the next best thing from te devil was quite challeging but I/we made it. Stronger then ever.

@@jamesross5671 hey buddy thanks for reaching out, hannah is doing much better as far as the psychosis she experienced.
But unfortunately is now experiencing postnatal depression, she said it is as if she woke up from from a nightmare and is just stuck with this super low mood and numbness, she’s receiving treatment from specialists to try and support her, a slow road but hoping for a meds increase tomorrow 😀

I had this. I was told it was just the baby blues.. it would end in a week or so.. I was just a tired stressed mom etc. Thank God I never hurt my babies or myself but it was complete fear and deep darkness and anguish like I'd never ever felt. With meds it left but man was it a journey getting out of that pit of hell.

Are there any triggers that could be noticed before the birth? Like extreme impatience and just rage towards the husband and toxic family (who usually doesn't step up their games and just decide to stay ignorant and blame us for reacting the way we do to them?.. ugh)

Need a psychiatrist, In acute severe case you may get lithium, it will make you a zombie but will stop the psychosis. Long term treatment will still involve meds, I read recently about psychopharmacologists, they specialize in treating psychotic disorders with effective medicine and usually have options.

From what it sounds like the start of postpartum psychosis is lack of sleep sooooo if you stop getting as much sleep or your partner youuuuu should reallly keep an eye on them or get them to sleep more
