    I'm a new father. I always have these thoughts of my baby being in an accident or in a dangerous situation and the outcome is very disturbing. It keeps me up late. I feel exhausted and scared. It's been going on for months now and I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's normal. I hope for this to go away so that I can function like before so I can also perform more better at my job so that I can provide more for my baby and partner.

    I sounded ridiculous when I thought this about me having postpartum depression but I just had a baby and have the same depressive symptoms as I did with our first...uncanny and bizarre

    I think the name is misleading, it’s more of an adjustment disorder and identity crisis rather than actual hormonal PPD. Babies are hard, they cut your sleep, they are a lot of work and exhausting, even if they are “a choice” and we love them, it’s hard and we need to support one another.

      They never said it was hormonal, postpartum depression. Also fathers hormones do change quite a lot after childbirth, men’s testosterone drops by 33%.

      it is actually hormonal. Sudden testosterone drop was found to be the cause of Male PPD. Father’s hormones change with Mother’s pregnancy too.

    How is it different than general anger management for men? The dad said it was "situational." Does he tend to erupt into fits of anger in life prior to baby- just show it in other ways? Glad he got help.

      Men’s depression manifest in forms of withdrawal and rage.

    Honestly hearing men at working job talk about how the "woman carries the load" is a flat out lie. Who ever is the primary care giver is the one who carries the load not the mom or dad,

    • @janedoe3648
      @janedoe3648 Год назад

      And that is almost always women. But anyway women literally CARRIED the baby, then it affects them a lot hormonally. And naturally, women are designed to breastfeed their babies..and 80% do. This creates a unique bond on a physiological hormonal level

    • @nanumwav
      @nanumwav 4 месяца назад

      Not saying this is a comparable thing with the experience of pregnant women’s body changing; but men actually go through hormonal changes prenatally too. The testosterone level drops from the influence of mother’s hormonal changes.

    The opening about women carrying the load is contributing to the issue.

  • @BBWBrynn

    How is this possible? The depression is from hormone imbalance.

    I know this is a serious issue but that guy, David Levine, has a baby chin on his chin it's distracting and cringe worthy.
