Get Your Home Clean with Less!
Unfortunately, there is no magic cleaning product that will clean our house for us. No holy grail of all cleaning products that will actually make us like cleaning. Nope. They just don't exist. Of course, cleaning product advertising makes it seem like they have special magic powers, so we buy them...All of them. Before you know it, you have dozens of half empty cleaning products and no place to put them.
Are you a cleaning product hoarder? What are your favourite cleaning products?

Yes, I am a cleaning product hoarder! You've looked into my soul!
The flylady suggests using shampoo and cleaners you don't like in your toilet. After a couple of months, under my sinks started getting more and more room.
I use the body wash that I use on myself. I clean the shower while I'm in it, then use squeegee on door and walls. I do have several types sponges, toothbrush, etc. I am sure my home is not free of germs but it looks clean and smells good.
P.S. I have watched every one of your you tube productions more than once, because you are a true entertainer. The only time I cry is when you down yourself because to me you are wonderful!!
Hey Cas :-)
Since Melissa (Cleanmyspace) mentioned using 10-20 drops of YOUR FAVOURITE ESSENTIAL OIL in that 50/50 vinegar/water mixture!!!
I just gave that a try and it is AMAAAAZING ;-)
Our place smells like cinnamon & orange, I just had on hand ☆☆☆
LOOOOOVE IT!
One of my favorite products is Clorox Green Works. I also made my own product by using 9% vinegar and lemon peels. Its great as a desinfectante and grease remover.
The smell. the glorious smell! The glass cleaner cleans just as steak free as windex (other natural cleaners I find leave streaks or residue) but it smells like a day at the spa ;)
Oh no I am a hoarder for sure cleaned out all my cleaning supplies yesterday,I have six moving boxes full.I wish I had seen this video sooner.I stored my stash in the shed,I guess now tomorrow I will go through it again and only keep the ones under the sink.
And oh my gosh I love methods almond wood cleaner!... My mom and sister and I all adore it and each have one. I've repurchased it at least four times! What works for some doesn't work for others :-)
To get over the smell of vinegar, add essential oils to the mix of vinegar and water. Or.... You can soak white vinegar in orange peels for 2 days. I hope you'll like it now. God Bless
When I get bored with my routine I will go buy different cleaning products to use or try to make myself want to clean lol I ended up with a closet full of cleaners I didn't use and gave them all away lol. I try to stick with my vinegar and water with a bit of dawn. But the urge is still there to buy buy buy lol
loving your videos, they are keeping me organised!
Norwex! Can’t say this enough! Norwex started me on the way to a clutter free life!
I am a hoarder, I have like 4 or 5 caddies under my sink and now I really want to make my own. So, I am off 3 consecutive days this week. Day one, I’m setting all of my cleaners out and the plan is to use up as many as possible by cleaning my house really well. The idea is I’ll simultaneously clean my house and use up some of these cleaners so that I don’t have guilt over the wasted money. And, My cleaners will be gone, so I will have a reason to make my own!
I add essential oils to my vinegar water mixture and the smell is less offensive. I use it on everything and I swear by microfiber cloths, they're awesome!!!!
I am for sure a cleaning product hoarder.
Anyone who wants to break away from being a cleaning product hoarder I will gladly take all your supplies you don't want I'll pay shipping to send my way! I'm a hoarder of cleaning products and not changing. It gives me much joy
I use vinegar mix with essential lemon oil and other things I use to clean are baking soda, borax and dish soap it does cleans really good and it does not cause me any allergies like the regular cleaners
Thank u so much for this video! And yes I am so a cleaning product hoarder lol! But after seeing this video they are going out the door! Lol thanks again!
I have OCD and I also hoard cleaning products. I use a lot of cleaning products everyday and I'm guilty of it but it's satisfying.
Bleach, Mr. Clean, Pledge, Bona Wood Floor Cleaner and Comet Scrubbing Cleanser. Cleans and disinfects my entire house.
Okay so a update I did purge about 1/4 of my cleaning products as i had not used them at all in the past year to two years i just left them in my mail room in my building and people have been grabbing them . I am keeping the 3/4 of them though as those are the cleaners i use and i know i will use up. I do feel better purging the ones though that were just sitting there doing nothing.
I like the cleaning caddy. I keep all of my cleaning products under my kitchen sink so they r all in one location and not scattered. I see you have stuff for walls, floors, hard surface and such but what about toilets and tubs?
The only 2 things I use are Lysol spray and Lysol wipes. Minimal and they work.
I have way to many because I started the grove site and i just love all the different smells
Not including the toilet bowl cleaner, I use four types of cleaners for everything. If it can't be cleaned with what I have it's not coming in my house. I swear by L.A.'s Totally Awesome. That stuff cleans everything.
After watching this, I sorted through all my cleaning stuff and got a caddy :)
I a vinegar and water girl (I add essential oils). I do use toilet bowl cleaner and once in a while I'll buy an all purpose cleaner just for a "change". If I do buy things....it's Method brand.
We moved into a new house in April, and went out and purchased glass cleaner, multipurpose cleaner, granite cleaner, the ceramic stove cleaner, and toilet bowl cleaner. That's it. Then a month later I found a huge box of cleaning supplies in the garage that the former owners had left, some of them look to be from the 80's! So I divvied them up between the garage and the basement for the odd times when we need to clean up a mess in one of those places.
I use to use a plethora of cleaning supplies, I get it. However after having children, I use water, Blue Dawn, cleaning vinegar and baking soda. I guess I now ask, why does clean smell like a pine forest or flowers? Clean just smells clean...really no smell...just "clean". =)
I bought the green all purpose kind today and it smells amazing! I love the cucumber smell. Thanks so much for that tip. I had heard you talk about the Method brand in videos before and am so glad I have it a chance! I had been using Lysol all purpose for the kitchen and it made me gag lol. The only thing that bothers me is it doesn't disinfect. How do you disinfect your kitchen?
I use an all purpose cleaner spray, disinfectant wipes, windex, ajax or comet, awesome, fabuloso, bleach bathroom cleaner, dawn dish soap, sos pads, bleach, laundry detergent, and dryer sheets(for clothes or keep drawers or containers smelling fresh). There might be more not sure but those r basically everything. I do have peroxide and vinegar to replace some of those just want to use them up first.
I was on this only cleaning with vinegar kick and hated the smell too, but I realized it really doesn't clean some things as well as bleach would. Such as the floors! They never seemed clean with just vinegar. The caddie is a great idea, thank you. I will be getting one soon :)
Lol - I always say - why do I have so many cleaning products when I HATE to clean?! It makes no sense!! I guess hoarding is hoarding even if it's cleaning products!
I'm not a fan of clutter so I really like multi-purpose cleaners. I love Pledge Multi b/c it's one product to clean wood, electronics, and my stainless appliances. I LOVE a product called Invisible Glass. I started using it for windows and mirrors. Works great. Then while cleaning the mirror one day, in my frustration, I tried it on the bathroom counter to remove an area of hairspray buildup. It works like a dream!
Kaboom for bathroom/tub. Windex antibacterial spray. Sprayway glass cleaner (its a foam - LOVE IT) A cling toilet cleaner. Pledge for wood although I don't love it - not sure why I use it. lol Pretty much it for me in USA. Water & vinegar for floors. Vinegar in laundry also. Don't smell it in laundry, and it goes away fast anywhere else I use it.
I am a cleaning products hoarder I decided though no more buying cleaning supplies until i have used most/all of them up yes I am that person who has an entire cupboards worth of cleaners I have not bought any cleaners since January its a new years resolution. When I am done with all my cleaners I have decided I am going to use laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, water, white vinegar, baking soda, bleach, magic erasers, sos pads, vim cream cleanser, murphys oil, lysol , spray bottles, diy oven cleaner, wipes and i think thats it. I know thats more than 10 but half these things will be for only occasional use.
I just gave the home remedy mixes, a try some time a ago and I love it.
But woah I'm such a cleaing product hoarder OMG! I have a ton. It needs to go, just hate to toss it when it has not been used up. I need to get over that.
I only use method products. You are right the glass cleaner is amazing. Shoppers drug Mart sometimes has method too. Not c always and not v every shoppers but possibly. I go to Canadian tire just for methods stuff.
Have you ever tried the young living thieves cleaner? I have been using only this cleaner for almost all of my cleaning needs. floors, countertops, windows, any and all surfaces... smells amazing!!! I think you may find this to be the holy grail!!
It's not as toxic as a lot of other cleaners and I like the way it works....I think it's worth it :)
I so agree with you and don't have a ton of cleaners either. I'd rather spend my money on fun stuff :). You have me convinced I need to try the Method glass cleaner. I haven't found anything that works as well as Windex, but I'd love a non-toxic one that actually works.
Same way can be done in auto detailing products I have been buying a lot of them now but don't want to become over board and be a hoarder buying auto detail products. I don't have a job doing auto detailing but would want to do it in future and auto painting. But don't want to become a hoarder with getting all the products I already have multiple waxes already but not as much polishes but seems a lot of the products are a gimmick. Thinking about taking a break from buying stuff soon because have more stuff coming today and tommorow and bought something today too some 5 gallon buckets but have a lot of the stuff for auto detailing already.
Dish soap, white vinegar, liquid soap for loundry, toilet bowl cleaner, baking soda, cleaning towelettes, querosene, paper towels. That's all. No dryer sheets, no deodorizers, no wood cleaners, no glass cleaners.
Have you tried Pinalen? it smells so good and works very well.
Lori H my favorite. I'm happy to see someone else agree.
I am! I love it! My old one died last week.
I know this is one of your older videos but I thought I add in on this. I am one of them people ( I get it from my momma) lol. But I do and couponing ain't making it any better. But after just paying full price, 1/2 price, penny's on the dollar and then free. I'm so over all of it. Cause even doing all of that making my own products is still more cheaper then hunting down the couponsand finding the deals. Plus better for my family. So now I'm on a use up my stockpile. Love your videos hope you are having a great summer. Later
Yup I had the same problem I was starting to coupon. Now I want to minimize how many cleaners I have. So I am slowly working towards using them all up. I have not bought any for a year and still have more to go. Once they're gone I'm going to the basics; Vinager, castile soap, & baking soda. That's it!!
Amazing advice as usual!!! Love ya Cas!
Minimalist!
I'm a hoarders post woman, no joke! I could cover my entire kitchen floor with cleaning products. Rarely use them. 🥴
Can we say issues.........
The grove site has all the method products
Hi I've been watching your videos for several years now & I find comfort in your vlogs :)
i am a hoarder-.- over 44products different kinds and a bin full under the sink. from vinegar to citrus acid, pumice, glas cleanser, doesnt count the rinse cloth etc
i should declutter
I tell everyone with a small bathroom...always keep a container of damp rid open. Dollar tree has an off brand. It’s amazing for mold/mildew prevention and it takes almost no effort and almost no money.
I use vinegar with essential oil)))
I'm a hoarder I guess. I go to a lot of estate sales and the cleaners sell so cheap. I can't help but buy them
Not sure if you have a Lowes hardware there... But Lowes has Method cleaning products.
I hate the vinegar smell too.
You can add some essential oils to vinegar to help mask the smell :)
No windex touch-up cleaner?? Love that product!
Thanks for another great video:)
I love ALL of the Scrubbing Bubbles products...to tell you the truth I've even used the foam one on a small area of my carpet to clean up pet messes & it made the carpet just SHINE!!! And I've ALWAYS loved Pinesol...so I use that, diluted with water, in it's own spray bottle...and then one other "go to cleaner" is bleach, water & a tiny bit of liquid dish soap (in it's own bottle) Those few & of course my Lysol/Bleach wipies are just about it for quick clean up...Now deep cleaning, that's another story!!
But bleach and many dish soap shouldn't be mixed
ladama Why is that? I've never had any problems with it...
Me, either. In fact, Dawn has a product that actually contains bleach, so I think it should be safe.
Pine sol&Ajax powder w/bleach makesme feel to clean, they smell amazing
O my. I'm a cleaning product hoarder.
I'm a "cleaning product hoarder" in regards to stocking up! So I'll never have several bottles open; maybe 1 of each in the kitchen and bath.
Recently, I have been shopping at the Dollar Tree and Big Lots for cleaning items (which they sell the same items for the same price). DT's version of PineSol smells horrible. I'm sucking it up and using it up, but I'll never buy it again.
I use a shoe organizer for my cleaning products ( I have a video on my channel for cleaning closet organization) I could get rid of the dollar tree cleaner but I don't think I am a hoarder...I HATE the smell of vinegar. I do buy back ups of my cleaner. I have old english and such, but some pockets I use for back up scrubbers and sponges. loving vlogtober on your channel
Love all the Method cleaning products at Target!
Hey love your videos! Especially your basket one for your kitchen cupboards! When I first saw the cover photo of this video I though I saw Shaklee cleaning product spray bottles and I was all excited b/c I also do and have been trying to see if anyone had a channel where they also use shaklee! I absolutely love it!
here in BC Safeway and a lot of the grocery stores care Method products ... they are my favourite as well ... I am a recovering cleaning product hoarder ... i am down to bleach, vinegar for glass ( a new thing for me) method lavender all purpose cleaner, method bathroom shower cleaner , magic erasers and a bleach fantastic .... i made myself use up all the other crap and really have to fit the urge to buy more when in the cleaning aisle ...
Sometimes I'm in a lemon scent mood... sometimes I'm in clean breeze scent mood.... sometimes I need a cleaner with bleach... sometimes I need something more mild...lol....what do I do?
I need to go through and get rid of a lot of my cleaning products I have way too many
I need a cleaning caddy! Great tips.
Yuck, I totally agree with the vinegar smell. Reminds me of pickles or salad dressing so I can't wrap my head around the fact that it's really cleaning anything. I know it does, but eeeew, the smell!
Ugh!
I also am aware this is an older video but HALF of my huge entry closet is full of cleaning products! AND half of under my sink! I'm BAD!! I do have a caddy. I actually have two! One for bathrooms (we have 4) and one for general.
You inspired me to go down to just one. I also have wipes under our sinks so, ugh. And I'll just keep special cleaners like the cooktop, granite, silver, brass, etc. under the sink.
This may hurt!!
Donating my overflow to my grown daughters, I'm sure they'll appreciate them!
What would you clean hardwood or engineered hardwood floors with? I don’t have carpet for a roomba.
R u using a new camera? The quality looks awesome
Hi if you have a London drugs nearby they sell the method windex in the mint scent, superstore has the method cleaners you can also get it at well.ca,vitacost and i believe lucky vitamin also has it.
I add essential oils to my vinager-water spray bottle... No more nasty smell :)
The quality is really lovely ! What's your camera exact model ?

Norma N......what kind of vinegar????.....cuz I love Windex and use it for everything too...:).

Love your videos, ive watched them all. I need to purge for sure! Im a cleaning product hoarder...eeeek
You can always drop essential oils to help with the vinigar stench. I find it works real well
What is so great about the Method brand? I have seen it at Target and its expensive. Is it worth it?
