Several months ago I wrote how I have been in bed for 2 years with depression and have gone from a beautiful home to an overwhelming disaster. 200 wonderful people took time out of their day to write words of encouragement and offer helpful suggestions…all of which have been a great blessing to me. I am making progress and I am so grateful to you all. I had made myself invisible in life. Thank you all. God bless.

I finally cleaned my room yesterday.
12 Garbage bags. I ended up filling 12 full Garbage bags, with just like.. Dusty Garbage that I never got around to cleaning up in many years.

As someone who works in a donation center, THANK YOU for pointing out and not donating moldy & stained stuff that should be taken straight to the garbage. I have to deal with that every day, & people dont realize that nonprofits lose money and time having to ship away molded, rotten furniture. If you think it should be tossed, toss it. Nonprofits are not the dump.

It's the same story everywhere. When we had massive flooding in various areas of Germany, they put up donation centers to provide those who had suddenly lost everything with the bare necessities. I talked to someone who worked in one of those centers, and she told me people put sacks full of dirty, crapped on clothes, single shoes and socks, broken china etc. in front of the building at night. They had to shut the place down eventually.

As the child of a hoarder who is now sorting through that hoard, i'm throwing my own childhood away. It's very hard to focus on the trash part. I have support but not much physical help so I have to touch all of it and it plain sucks. I sometimes replay the parts where you describe the $ involved and remember that if I don't do this... I will pay for it in a different way. I am far below the poverty line so I must pay in time and not money. Plus I live here as a full time caregiver so there is no reprieve from the overwhelm. So, thank you for recording and narrating with an honest tone because it has truly been a helpful respite when I break for my 10 minute sanity pause.... turned my "camper" into a dump trailer so i'm using what i've got and pluggin' away!

2:20-3:50, I have autistic traits (no official diagnosis), and the "clutter becomes your environment" is real. I live alone, so all cleaning is done by me, when i have the time+energy after a full time job (which cuts into my "hobbies" time).
I just deep cleaned the bathroom, and holy moley. I
    - pulled everything out of the bathroom closet and shelves,
    - wiped down all the incredibly dusty surfaces
    - mopped the floor
    - wiped down the wall tile and scrubbed _some_ of the grout (i abandoned that idea pretty quick)
    - and cleaned the toilet (which is usually very overdue and a near biohazard)
by the end, i had a laundry basket full of nicknacks, and was too exhausted to continue
(i sorted through the laundry basket yesterday, and threw away like 45% of it)

She carried that stuff from house to house to house to house to house for 30 years, always, always intending to make that art project, and never even cut the first batch of yarn. It's not a slam, I carried my rug supplies (bought at the same time) for decades, too, having almost finished it, but not quite. It was a pleasure to get rid of eventually. Just waiting and dreaming of doing a project is living in fantasy land. Once you start working on it you might realize how much you dislike it, how bad you are at it or how easy it actually is comparing to what you thought it will be or how practicing everyday makes you better and better and that you wish you started sooner. you can’t learn piano in one week, but if you practice for 20 minutes a day for a year you will go far. Then over time it just kind of exploded and now it has grown into the most AMAZING channel that Blesses people in such a big way it is almost unbelievable!!
I love seeing the clips at the end of his family also. The relationship he has with his father is such a wonderful example as well.
Ben is a true believer in making the world a better place and that we all have a responsibility to one another. I just absolutely love his content❤

Love flawless cleaning! The stuff he’s been doing recently is so much more than power washing, it’s fixing the big stuff that the person can’t afford, roofs, windows, drainage, garden clearance. And importantly, checking up on & chatting with the people he helps, mostly elderly people, it’s really heart warming stuff.

    My cleaning Angel 😇
fantastic job with your loving heart and soul.
Jason, great work helping your Dad with his Autistic burn out you like your Dad you have a good heart and soul.
So many people just ignore other people nowadays. When I was a young lady, I would seek out the elderly people in the neighborhood I grew up in and see if they needed help. Most of them did, and I always did whatever I could for them. They'd always want to pay me, and I always refused. I always got Christmas cards with money and notes of appreciation with a please get yourself something. I saved up that money for school, and it was always appreciated but never wanted or demanded anything for what I did. Doing this for people just makes you a better person. You don't always have to be paid for what you can do, but the people you do it for never forget you. Lots of them kept in touch with me until they passed. The last card I got was in 1984. I miss all of them, and I think about all of them, and it always makes me feel good and smile.
People look around. There are lots of people who just need a little help. A Little of your time could make all the difference in the world to them.
    It's truly rewarding.
Thank you, my cleaning, Angel 😇 ❤

I use a walker and my balance is not that great. I called the Central Illinois agency on Aging and I have 3 hours of homemaking help. That would be a good resource for anyone to call. My place is clean and comfortable. I don't know how people can think someone with a hoarding disorder is just lazy and doesn't care. I felt overwhelmed looking at that stuff in your video. It has to be miserable to live with that. I don't think anyone could relax in that, and one's home should be a sanctuary where one feels safe, comfortable, and at peace. Everyone deserves that. This video really struck home for me seeing all the children's toys. My daughter who has struggled with ADHD and the associated depression has lived most of her adult life like this. Being on housing assistance actually helped her keep things under control, for awhile. She would clean frantically for the upcoming inspections. But in the end lost her assistance, in her mind, because of me. She passed the inspection but the landlord needed to do some work in the basement. When the inspector returned to check that the work has been completed she asked me to let them in because she was working. Unfortunately the house had already returned to its usual condition and because she and her boyfriend had removed the bulkhead stairs previously to get a sofa in to the basement I had no choice but to let the inspector in through the house. Needless to say the inspector was shocked by the condition of the house. She lost her housing assistance because of it and blamed me for letting the inspector into the house when she only needed to look at the basement. She's been kicked out of every rental she's ever had. We are now estranged and I have no idea of where our how she's living with her 11yo son. He older daughters are now in their 20's and living on their own. Without the proper support, with our without medication, ADHD can be devastating to a family; it was for mine. 💔

"Autistic burnout" is a new term for me, as autistic person with depressions/burnouts. I'm going to read up on that, thanks!
    And best wishes to yours.

Seeing the children's toys and clothes breaks my heart. I am so thankful that this family was able to find someone like you to help them. Thank you for all you do for others.

Flawless Cleaning, from UK, is great. Massive clean ups, clear outs, and grateful clients with a touch of British humor. 🇬🇧

Wow. What a transformation!!! (All that dryer lint, holy crap, that's a fire hazard! (A lot of that is, but lint is especially so!))
I've never experienced what you're going through right now--I hope things are getting better for you and that you get through it soon.
Absolutely love your words of encouragement. Definitely nothing wrong with asking for help, even though it can be so hard to do.

Flawless and Flipping are two of my favs. Really like the Hoof GP as well. What I think you need to do in all these cleanups is...
OK I got nothing. I do think that Alvin is a really good name for a moose, so if you see him, please give him my regards.

Just so sad to see items that people loved being thrown out thru no fault of theirs. I have twice gone thru throwing out loved items (like the bedspread my mother bought us as a wedding present) - Once after a fire and once after a flood.
People on the spectrum and with ADHD tend to put memories in their things. Time Blindness (losing track of things/events/people in the past and future) makes it hard to keep memories but looking at an item you think "I got this from my aunt" and a flood of memories about wonderful times with you aunt suddenly become available again. This makes losing items into a double loss : the item itself and the memory it contained.
From an Autistic ADD sufferer with complex PTSD and Major Chronic Depression. And I love this channel because it reduces my guilt about all the things I "should" do and can't.

Mad at/amused with myself that in the midst of profound empathy and sadness I see that paisley chair and I'm like, ooo! that chair tho!

Your insight to a situation is amazing. Yourself and Jason did another marathon days work with all ye got done. Omg I can’t believe this house hasn’t burnt down with the oven on low, the wax melter and all the lint from the dryer. You are so right asking for help is the biggest challenge to overcome for anyone and well done to this homeowner for being so brave. Hoping the family gets the extra help they need, because they are off to a great start with yourself and Jason. Mack I hope you are on the road to recovery from burnout.
Meant to say last video that I watch Remi Clog and I think she’s great and The Carla Project. The shout outs are great.
Omg is the cat being shy, such a cutie. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 👏👏💪💪👍🙏💐🐈

I found Al Bladez about two years ago. His channel is awesome! I noticed you used a garden sprayer to dampen all the paper on the floor. That's actually a useful idea. If you find a spare moose, I'd love one s a pet. 💜

The floor is so shiny, you can see your own reflection 🪞 lol. The countertop color reminds me of the Brady Bunch.

Went through autistic burnout earlier this year after going through the process of buying my house. I'm glad you mentioned this, because I didn't realize that's what I was experiencing until you said this and I looked into it. I was diagnosed ASD a few years ago, and I am still learning about myself. Luckily I am now through it, but it was a couple months where I didn't know why I was feeling the way I was. Good to be able to put a name to it and have that in my pocket for the future.
