Here are 2 simple tips for DS1:
    1. Always light roll. Maybe sounds counterintuitive to play with little or no amour, but it is waaay easier to not get hit at all.
    2. Play unlocked. Again, maybe it is counterintuitive, but from the top of my head, I cannot remember any boss that is easier locked-on.

I agree fully. Played ds1 first then elden ring.
Now I went to play ds1 ng+ and just absolutely cannot stand the 4-way-rolling anymore, no issues first time through. Killed every single boss so far unlocked, and it has been great.

    • @laughingman9574
      @laughingman9574 Год назад

@@jamikojonen6436 Yeah, unlocking makes a huge difference, sometimes even in later games where locked-on combat was polished, once you realise it, there is no going back, same with light rolls in DS1. With ds1 as my first soulsbourne game, it really helps in every one of them to know when to lock on and when to unlock
It gets less important the further on in the games you go, but it can still help knowing it might just be better to free aim your attacks and rolls, especially on big enemies in 3 and elden ring since it gives you the weird leg lock on points

Dogs are really just family members so of course losing them is going to be devastating. Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this but since you have the master key, you can head through New Londo - Valley of Drakes - Darkroot Basin up to the Darkroot Garden and exit at Andre's, then you can head out to front of Undead Parish and grab the bonfire where the SunBros convenient is and then you can head out the gate to get the Claymore. Since you skip Undead Burg, the dragon doesn't spawn. To me this is the best way to get the Claymore without having to kill any bosses aside from Asylum Demon. You can then drop the ladder to get back down to the Burg and and progress normally.

It was accidental, almost like placing a summon sign in the boss room for nadir in the ringed city for ds3. Placing a summon sign there would eventually summon you into the spear of the church boss room as the boss. Its trying to summon an NPC but the game detects a player and summons the player instead.

Hey there! This is a fun video so far, I'm really enjoying it! I think it's a really cool thing to see people take on broader challenges like this that are still relatively new to the series. It's cool that people are this enthusiastic about the series even before they know the games like the back of their hand. Here's some unsolicited and random DS1 tips that came to mind while I was watching, for any who are interested!
-The Bridge Wyvern can be a pain to bait off of the wall if you're trying to catch a break from the fire breath to reach the Sunlight Altar or to engage it in combat. One extremely reliable way is to damage it with a projectile, as this instantly aggros it into combat mode! Any starting class can pull this off either by buying the short bow from the Undead merchant, or, if you want to save your souls (who wouldn't this early in the game?), a free light crossbow and bolts that can be found hidden near the early areas of Undead Burg! A good line of sight can be found on either side of the bridge that isn't affected by its fire breath. (Minimum requirements to use the bow or crossbow aren't necessary, as any amount of damage is enough to aggro the wyvern!)
-An extra five Black Firebombs can also be found in a chest inside a house right after the first Undead Burg bonfire, so you can still keep some on hand after unloading what you start with on the Asylum Demon, should you so choose!
-The Bandit's Knife is, without a doubt, one of the strongest starting weapons and is one of few that can serve you very well even in the late game. It's buffable, has a bleed factor which can combine for insane DPS (as featured against the Taurus Demon in this video, check out that huge slice of damage when he gets down to half health!). It also has the second or third highest critical damage bonus in the game, and, when starting as a thief, is capable of killing any regular enemy in a single backstab up through the Undead Parish with zero (0) extra investment in upgrading the weapon or increasing your character's dexterity. The thief's target shield is also one of the best for parrying, so a more experienced player can enjoy that bonus on their ripostes, as well. Since the starting kit doesn't necessarily depend on you building around it, this all makes the thief a great starting option for almost any build, since it starts with pretty even spellcasting stats as well. (And don't forget spells benefit from dex too! More dex = faster cast speed!)

Sorry to hear about your dog, bub ❤️❤️💜💜.
I appreciated your vulnerability of expressing your heartache on your video, and intertwining it with your philosophical take on the required mindset difficult games demand.
You’re a good commentator and you mentioned possibly changing your commentating format. I think direct game explanation is entertaining when I’m watching a fellow gamer smack a boss into oblivion. Viewers wanna know learn how to “git g00d” ;) from the streamers and creators they enjoy the personalities of.
On the flip side of this, this was my first time watching one of your videos (I am a big fan of Soul’s streaming, however, especially challenge runs and Elden Ring Bingo. Glad to see someone new and enjoyable make it onto my feed.❤) and rather enjoyed your youthful, honest, and self-aware commentary of life; as well as, the presented content.
In my opinion, I don’t think either direction should be your set-in-stone format; but, instead a balance of both as it feels you’re already on that path and enjoying yourself.
Refine what you’re good at and what you love. As a musician, I love collaborating with vocalists and other instrumentalists that are good at story telling through music. And talking about the first time we ever got high, hah.
(BTW, don’t smoke/burn cannabis. Vaporize it or vaporize cannabis concentrates, as well as, using edibles. Smoking is a bad habit and smells bad. ✌️✌️✌️)
Your video was a very enjoyable watch, and I believe you are well on your way to establishing a distinct personality in the gaming content community.
    Subscribed and liked.
Much love and keep it up. 💜🤙💨

1:01:49 I have to disagree on this one. There is quite a few memorable characters in dks2: Lucatiel; Creighton and Pate; Sweet Shalquoir (Majula cat); Gavlan; Rosabeth (pyro girl); Vengarl; Rat King; King Vendrick; Aldia; Fume Knight Raime and Velstald; Sorcerer Navlaan; Zullie and Alva first appeared here if I recall correctly; Iron King; and prob. someone else I forgot to mention. Imo the best part of dks2 is its lore and characters, and if you "don't wanna be there more than is necessary" and don't explore all details - ofc all you gona see is weaker parts of the game.
Big reason why dks2 hits so much different than other dark souls'es - because first and third were about some big characters, doing big things that affect world a lot. Dks mattered because it was first cycle, dks3 mattered because it was last cycle. But dks2... didn't matter all that much, but it tells about Drangleic - one of many kingdoms that existed between dks and dks3. It focuses on perspective of regular people on the curse. Some imprisoned cursed because of fear (Vendrick, lost bastille), some tortured them for entertainment (Iron King, undead purgatory), some experimented on them (Aldia, Aldia's Keep). Regular people too, its was sad to see Lucatiel struggle with her curse, or seeing ones who supposed to hunt cursed become hollow themselves. And main character - he isn't chosen one, he is one of the victims. He just wants to break the curse, but not necessarily link the fire or anything like that. He just wants peace.
It's super relatable imo. Like, not everyone is the chosen one, but we all struggle with life. Yes we all are gonna die and be forgotten, yes life is often hard, sad, unfair, and essentially meaningless, but what can you really do about it except... continue fighting and searching for truth?
    "There is no path.
Beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach of Dark…
    …what could possibly await us?
And yet, we seek it, insatiably…
    Such is our fate."
    - Aldia, Scholar of the First Sin

Ive grown up having dogs my whole life and losing them never gets easier. The hardest one was when my dog got bloat and my family couldn’t afford to take him to the vet and he died in my arms on an awful stormy night. It was one of the hardest things I’ve had to experience but being there for him in his last moments was exactly where I needed to be even though it broke me even to this day when I think about it it hurts so bad. Now I have a wife and a sweet little dog of our own and the lessons learned come into play all the time. I’m so sorry for your loss my family split when I was young and lived with my dad as well and my dogs were everything to me it was the one thing that made life seem normal after all the shit my parents put us through. I’m rambling but I just felt a need to share after hearing your story and it being so relatable

Great video! I think you are a cool dude and tell some great stories! For future reference, you are making all your weapons weaker by infusing them. If you are using a pure strength weapon, by making it bleed, lightining, etc. you are losing the scaling and making it inherently weaker. Either way, you got my sub :)

52:25 the broiler setting on an oven is typically used for short, high heat applications (like giving some color to the tops of foods like oven baked fish, garlic bread, etc.) and should not be used to cook things all the way through due to the high heat!! hope this helps :]

By the way, one of the main reasons you may feel like you aren't as good at dodging in ds1 is because in ds1 the direction you roll matters. In the other dark souls games as long as you roll at the right time, you avoid the attack, however in ds1 you have to roll the correct way to dodge attacks most of the time, sometimes you can get away with it if you have enough i-frames, but on some bosses you just can't

I grew up with death and loss when I lived in south africa and I can say when in our hardest battles we will not be heros, we will see how weak we are and that only through the long battles that we constantly loose that we will learn what we are made of. This I'm sure is what you went through with the loss of your dog and playing through dark souls.

ive always heard that the Zweihander was the old reliable, but replaying on console its pretty slow but i donnt remember it being terrible on PC
also in these old games always make sure to light roll or at least trry to medium roll, makes it a lot easier even if you have to dump stamina or have a ring slot taken up

You have to level ADP to 32 in Dark Souls II to have the same roll as the other games! You should straight up level it to 32 as soon as you start the game. It really makes the game way better

In DS1 you could havw used the valley of drakws to go through darkroot basin to Andre and from there back trough the Dragonbridge without killing any Boss. Nut you anyway would have owned the Taurus Demon. Also you may not grasp DS1 because as soon as you lock on your roll becomes 4 directional. On almost ny fight it's better to not lock on so you can roll in any direction

In this instance walking and getting back into freerunning. I dont know how or what triggerd my switch but it happend. And yes i was depressed for 2 years but stil kept fighting. My favorite survival game as of late is Valheim, i love it. Its like a souls-like survival game almost, you have the sorta deflect style parry like sekiro does, with a timed block, you can dodge roll to avoid bigger attacks, enemies are really deadly in groups, even weaker early game ones, but the best by far is the building, the building system is so fun, i love just building houses, and exploring the biomes is cool. Each biome also has a boss, and theyre generally pretty solid. I love valheim, its like terraria meets dark souls, but viking themed. 11/10, though it is still unfinished, but theyre working on releasing an update right now.
Also, i really like this type of content, youve got a consistent thing running in the back but you just talking, telling stories and shit, its like a podcast and challenge run mixed in one, i love to listen to it. Also, really sorry about your dog, when i was little, like 10 or so, wed had this one little black lab, we loved her so much, she was there my whole life until that point. We ran around with her out side, walked her, sometimes id just lay on the floor with her, she was just so chill and sweet, loved playing fetch. She was really old though, 14 or 15 by the end. She couldnt really control herself anymore, and one day my dad had to take her in.
We all cried and cried, it was so hard. That year even on fuckin christmas i stopped and cried cus i missed her. Even now, 9~ years later, im with my girlfriend and she comes up, i talk about her a little, and my gf can tell im starting to get choked up and shifts away to get my mind off it.
It becomes easier not to think about them as much, yknow, other things happen, you have new focuses, maybe another pet even. Life goes on.
But actually thinking about them, remembering, it never gets any easier. Longing, regret, sadness, it really sucks.
We have a new dog now, hes going on 2 or 3 now, hes just a big ol baby, we all love him. Hes such a nut, he’ll crash into the glass door with a thud and not even notice. So much energy. And a lot of anxiety, worrying about him, thinking im not doing enough for him, dreading the day a decade or so from now…
Losing someone youve known your whole life does change you, be it a close relative, or a beloved pet, and i myself, having inherited my father’s anxiety, get a lot of existential dread. Its hard, but you sit down, play a little elden ring, or dark souls, or valheim, watch some youtube, spend time with loved ones. Life goes on. Theres always bad, but there will also always be good, and its better to focus on the latter.

The reason I love the Claymore is because of its roots. The Claymore originates from Scotland, which was pronounced “Clyd’more” which in ancient Celtic means two hander, the Claymore is the world record holder of biggest sword, wielded by tartan wearing, muscle bearing, absolute Giants of men. I know this turned into a history lesson, but I thought a video about the Claymore would be fitting to know about its roots. Thanks for reading my friend.
