To anyone surprised that I didn't choose the Jailors as the worst Dark Souls 3 enemy, I'm as surprised as you are. I forgot about them when making the video lol.
Also, I was incorrect when i said DS2's Old Knights are only found in Heide's Tower of Flame - they're also found in the Shrine of Amana and Drangleic Castle. Whoops!

The Royal Revenant definitely is the "gimmick enemy" of Eldenring.
+ Longrange puke with high dmg and it can proc poison
+ Teleportation cause it is a ghost and in general it has quick movements
+ Thousand slaps of doom charge that can delete a players entire healthbar twice or thrice even in one go
+ All on top of having lots of HP itself and is pretty tanky and very hard to stagger or posturebreak
Even if you find out that using an AoE healingspell is their weakness, landing one can be tricky too. 10/10 most annoying enemy.

My obsession with killing everything in souls games has made me absolutely despise the giant Lobsters/Crayfish. They’re hard enough up close and they are really good at keeping you in front of them, but their sniper water jet shots are one of the most insane things I’ve ever witnessed. Maybe the longest range attack in the game and it does a ton of damage. Thankfully you can skip most of them but those two at the bottom of the Subterranean Shunning Grounds were the bane of my first playthrough

    • @the_furry_inside_your_walls639
      @the_furry_inside_your_walls639 8 месяцев назад +2

The Jailers are stupidly easy to deal with. As long as their sight debuff applies to you, they're aware of your presence and will start making their way to you, so you just gotta hide behind a wall and keep baiting them until they're close enough that you can take them out before the debuff kills you.
I'm not even that good at Soulslikes, yet even I managed to figure this out the first time I encountered one of them. Besides, their design is sick as hell and I think the max hp reduction attack is unironically a cool concept that was really well made for an enemy you encounter in a small, cramped level where you can easily cut off their line of sight. Makes you think about the level design more. I'd honestly rather fight them than the Lycanthrope hunters in Crucifix Woods or the skeletons in Carthus Catacombs.

I was gonna try to apply these to my dnd encounters.. but i think the biggest lesson is actually that the look and feel of the enemies is huge for players.
(Also mechanics that take away control lead to frustration)

One of my favorite enemy types in the whole series are the Pontiff Knights from Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. It also helps that this area is also one of my favorite areas too. They speed and grace make them really just to dual, and their armor set is awesome.

I absolutely cannot deal with Omens. Cannot get their timing right, and always burn through several flasks to fight them. That Omen Crypt in Liurnia is probably my least favorite dungeon in the game because of it.
However, I find Royal Revenants to be alright. Scary and dangerous, sure, but even without healing, I found them okay to deal with. Get distance when they spaz, and close in afterwards. Same with the Kindred of Rot. I legit don't mind fighting them at all. Don't even consider them to be annoying.
It's always interesting to see how different playstyles lead to different preferences.
But anyways, great video! And I'm impressed you actually like the shark giants.

Probably my favorite enemy to fight out of all soulsgames has got to be Lone Shadows from Sekiro. It just really itches that Tenchu/Ninjitsu feeling for me. The way they jump into the air to land with a kick, the parry method for them, everything just feels so satisfying. And for the most part their placement in the levels are just too good. Having them on the rooftops near Kuros room is such a cool fight to be had! I guess a bonus mention would be any offline invader-type npc from Bloodborne. With their cool outfits and weaponry. Not necessarily a stock enemy and moreso a mini boss but I think it counts

Royal Revenants are so weird. Sometimes I’ll fight one and it barely does anything and the other time it goes completely ballistic and destroys me. Omens are awesome to fight and I still remember freaking out when I went through a pipe in the sewer area only to see three of them coming down the ladder to kill me.

Worst DS2 enemy would've been the Hammer Drakekeeper Knight. Same combo, 2 different speeds.
But you can poison arrow cheese him. Yes, you can run back to the bonfire without consequence.
The worst enemies are the hedgehogs from the DLC. Or not if you consider how fucking funny their animations are.
So it stands that the Reindeer from the Ivory King DLC are the worst. And the tadpole fuckers from the Sunken King DLC.

The first character I ever beat DS1 with had something like thirty resistance, so, it was me, I the hell was levelling resistance

Just you wait for Elden Ring DLC, Fromsoft is probably gonna realize that only having 4 royal revenants in the entire base game is too boring. So they’ll add a small room where you get ambushed by 20 of them. And it will be hilarious to see people get salty about it, while we’ll try not to trigger our ptsd of our own encounter of that room.

Surprised you didn’t mention the Smouldering Ghru for DS3. Inflicts toxic via AoE, has grabs, often positioned for (limited) ganks or ambushes with other enemies. At least in the base game I don’t think anything else comes particularly close for being annoying, saved only by everything in Smouldering Lake being completely optional. The room with two Demon Clerics and Ghru still gives me trouble after what must be hundreds of hours of play.

    Bloodborne best enemy:
Keeper of the old Lords, along with his attack dogs. Very badass, very challenging, very rewarding. Chalice dungeon only though.
    Honorable mentions:
Executioner. Excellent early game practice material. Looks really cool with his big hood and giant weapon, has plenty of moves and I love how heavy he sounds as well.
Vermin Host. That moment when the snakes pop out of its head for the first time is so memorable. He's pretty strong and fast, rewarding to slay. Just a really cool design.

The Old Knights in the early patches of DS2 were even better than they are now. I'm pretty sure they had their stats tweaked. Either that or very few weapons were available. But they took very little damage from all physical sources except blunt. They were extremely memorable because they kicked my ass a ton to the point where I tried out a bunch of different weapons and found that a simple mace smashed through them in a couple hits instead of a couple dozen.

For me in Elden Ring, even though they're easy enough once you figure them out, it's gotta be those f**king birds with blades on their talons. I sigh heavily whenever I encounter one. Also, the giant dragonflies. They are just annoying and if you enter combat with them, you can't fast travel. Not to mention they are pretty much in every big open area.
