2.3 così was the early one. The 2.5 così was the latter one. I used to work on those in the early nineties at my local Mercedes Benz dealership. I finished off my apprenticeship there. We had a rally team there and the dealerships owners son was the driver. His son now races in the British touring car championship. Small world eh.

Hi Ricky! Love the videos, keep it up! I wanted to ask a question regarding V10 1st gen R8's.
I've seen R8 GTs and some mint manual V10s go for about the same (100k~€ range). GTs are probably not apt as a daily driver/main vehicle, but I was interested about the total cost of a gated manual conversion for them to see if I should spend my time looking for one or not. I know you have done those in the channel before, but don't recall hearing an approximate quote for those.
For my needs, I would be more than happy with a manual V8, but the scarcity of several parts and the lack of good examples in my area makes me wonder if it's worth the risk. Thanks a lot and hoping to see more content about the ZX!

I did 15 years tuning these and other 90s heros at a west london tuning company.
Had one book a rolling road tune.
Car turned up late, and had a flat battery when we tried to start it.
Stuck it on the rollers, did some basics, went for a pull. At 5k ish, there was a loud bang, a shower of plastic, and a bad smell.
Operator shut it all down, and we went looking for the damage. The operator took a big swig from his cup of tea, and promptly ran away.
Turned out the explosion was a dead mouse going through the fan.
The debris had landed in the operators tea. 😂. 🤮

They arent very strong motors as stock.
And the chassis is not something you want to put extra power through.

Word of warning in relation to the mouse who had a house inside the V….. that’s exactly where the Knock Sensor lives…. If mousey has nibbled the knock sensor harness, it’ll put the engine in limp mode. Worth pulling the upper and lower plenum to check that knock sensor and the harness BEFORE you fit the new belt and pulleys (top middle idler stud is through the lower plenum)
