This. Makes it feel like a cheap cable tv programme where you have no confidence the content is good enough to hold people’s attention. To be fair other Auto YT channels do it, but this felt especially unnecessary.
Love what you do Jonny, but not the spoiler at the beginning. You have just introduced completely spoils the whole anticipation of what the car is and how you progress!
On referring to the “Witches Tit” as being “Dry”…. The Witches Tit reference pertains to being extremely cold. The “Dry” reference would be “Dryer than Gandhi’s Flip Flop” . Great Show Lads.
Actually traded in a 320i for a 318is... sure I missed the straight six noise but the 318is was much more lively, nimble in it's feet and used less fuel. Diamant schwarz paint with black leather m-tech seats and steering wheel sitting on Koni suspension. Never new it was a homologation special 🤔.
I also had a ti, bought second hand with a supercharger kit installed. Always wanted to upgrade to the M sport spec but sold when the projects picked up. Wish I had held on to it.
When I took my driver's license in Sweden in 1984 these were the cars we drove at the driver school a mixture of 320s and 318. The 320 was my favourite. Subsequently, my first car was a 1972 BMW 2000 Touring which i owned until 2005.
Thanks, Jonny, for highlighting my favorite model BMW. After ten years, I sold my (350K-mile) Brillantrot 318is in 2018. However, two years later acquired a Diamantschwarz example with cloth interior and a mere 200K miles. I brought to back to life and this time, I swear to never sell it. As rare as this model is, enthusiasts can't seem to refrain from swapping larger, more powerful (S50, S52, S54, etc.) into the chassis. That's OK, but in my opinion, they're missing the point. The spirit of the early BMWs (1600-2, 2002, 2002tii) lives on in the 318is. And that's the car I loved first.
The first few minutes this week is more suited to man who likes American things, has a friend that works in a BP petrol station and uses a collective term for a single vehicle.
OOOOHHHH... all them cars he was naming got my memories going from when i sat at the kirbside writing down car models and reg plates at 5 years old....
The best car i never owned..... chose a jdm dc2 integra back in 1998..... the honda was fantastic but always regretted not owning the 318is..... cracking little car to drive.
Plenty of affordable parts available for recomissioning this, many can be had BMW too. Only parts that I believe are harder to come by on the m42 engines is timing gears but I could be wrong on that front. Real cool cars, baby m3 if you will
My ex brother in law had an F reg 325i in diamond Swartz for 15 years. Only got rid of it 3 years ago. Had a couple of drives in it. Once on a slightly moist day😱😬😂😂
Sweet, sweet motor; amazing what people have poked away, unused. The 'coming up' bit kinda spoiled what was coming, though. Keep up the good work though! 👏👏
Omg I’m only 5 mins in, I had one of these, a red H reg I bought in 2005 for £250, I sold it to lad from Wrexham a few months later for £1800. At the time I had an e30 325i and thought the 318is felt gutless in comparison so sold it on.
❤❤ heya jonny yes the only bad bit was " coming up" apart from that this another great great video.... this bmw was like stepping back in time.... all lovely and original beautiful car,,, thanks to you and the other guy :):)... much love to you xx we love your work
Jonny, please no 80s Dallas intro's to spoil what's coming or I'm going to have to dig my shoulder pads out put on the leg warmers 😅😅😅 Nice barn find though 👍 👍
Always thought these were special.Persuaded Dad to get a 318is coupe E36 (at the same time I had a Peugeot 106 Rallye.Anyone know if the E36 was a much rarer car?
Johnny, Love you, love your videos, love this video. Hate the American TV grab you or you'll change channel here's some peril "coming in this episode" stuff.
It *is* a homologation special. Fancier suspension and a DOHC 16v engine was all done for Gp.N touring car racing.
Please Jonny, don’t do “coming in this episode” hate that! Great video as usual!
This. Makes it feel like a cheap cable tv programme where you have no confidence the content is good enough to hold people’s attention. To be fair other Auto YT channels do it, but this felt especially unnecessary.
Sorry you didn't like it. We thought we'd try something new for a broader audience.
@@TheLateBrakeShow Fair enough. All TV does it these days. I guess I’m just old enough to remember a time before it was the done thing.
1:20 to skip the spoilers
@@TheLateBrakeShow oh dear ......the old 'broader audience' downward spiral - what next ?
I have a 318is. Been in the family since it was 2 years old. 172000 miles and still going strong. Lovely car to drive !!
Love what you do Jonny, but not the spoiler at the beginning. You have just introduced completely spoils the whole anticipation of what the car is and how you progress!
Tony BMW should really have his Own chat Show.
Thanks again Mr Smith
Stunning!.....almost looks brand new!
Could have rolled out of the dealer a year ago looking at it. Beautiful condition. Very envious.
I was working at a BMW dealership as a motorcycle mechanic when these came out, bringing back loads of good memories. 😎.
On referring to the “Witches Tit” as being “Dry”…. The Witches Tit reference pertains to being extremely cold. The “Dry” reference would be “Dryer than Gandhi’s Flip Flop” . Great Show Lads.
Best thing on RUclips these barnfinds. Love this 318is - I had a E36 318is and great fun. Thank you Jonny.
Always loved the E30. One of the last really good looking BMW’s, in my opinion.
If laughter prolonged life, I would have already lived forever thanks to this video💝
I had a blue E30 318 touring..... drove it from Brighton to northern Norway and back.....loved it .
What an utterly gorgeous slice of car that is ❤
One of the prettiest boxy cars ever produced. Loved to hear about the is characteristics. Sounds like my kind of classic. Light sweet sweet manuel
He mentioned a Scimitar without making the obligatory Princess Anne comment. Not a proper car pervert. :o)
Brilliant...! Gotta love an E30. Top episode thanks Jonny 😊
I have had many E30, man, this is in beautiful condition, I would love to own in this condition.
Thanks again, Jonny, for another beautiful car video.
BFF is what Sundays are made for
A different car, but had a 318ti sport compact around 2000. Had terrible reviews but loved it.
I also had a ti, bought second hand with a supercharger kit installed. Always wanted to upgrade to the M sport spec but sold when the projects picked up. Wish I had held on to it.
I don't really like working on BMWs, but the E30 is just the quintessential BMW look. It just looks right.
When I took my driver's license in Sweden in 1984 these were the cars we drove at the driver school a mixture of 320s and 318. The 320 was my favourite. Subsequently, my first car was a 1972 BMW 2000 Touring which i owned until 2005.
Not a fan of the new intro it spoilt the video for me..
Apologies.
The interior in that pattern was unique to the IS also
I owned a 318is e30 in black H937 KPL kept it for 9 yrs absolutely loved it
My late father had a 318is in diamond black. It handled beautifully around twisty backroads and roundabouts. Would love to own one myself.
Any chance you can play Beni Bennazi "satisfaction" when you clean the cars? That's what plays in my head while you're doing it. Lol

Saw the strip of green lights and just though ?....what happened to my bmw service reset tool.?😂😂😂😂

7:39 the engines are definetly NOT related! M42 has nothing to do with s14, which is a mix of m10 block and s38 head.
Such a beautiful and timeless car !!! 😜👍🇦🇺
Lucky man. What a lovely car he owns. Missing on start up but it seemed to settle down once warm.
The best car i never owned..... chose a jdm dc2 integra back in 1998..... the honda was fantastic but always regretted not owning the 318is..... cracking little car to drive.
I had 3 back in the early 2000’s
Love the channel and what a beautiful car, nice one.
Love this Sunday evening activity...💎✨️
Thanks for your time and effort’s Jonny… I don’t pay a penny to watch your work, so I do what you want and I’ll still watch❤👌👍
Thanks for watching. You'd be welcome to join our Patreon gang, share the video on social media or go buy some discounted Nielsen cleaning products!
Loved the condition. Great colour combo. Great vid. Well done 👍
Apart from e32's the e30 318is has been one of my all time favourites. Had a e36 318is.
no way i remember seeing that floating about worcester, and the other cars the lad mentioned, the cavalier, sentor ect, big up my home town
Yet again - job's-a-good-un! Still looking forward to a Bosxter update :)
Theres a woman in my town that drives it daily... legit e30 318is.150cv i think.
Had the same colour scheme, F plate and wish I never got rid of it
Stock rear window and boot though, no stick-on M3-mod
Plenty of affordable parts available for recomissioning this, many can be had BMW too. Only parts that I believe are harder to come by on the m42 engines is timing gears but I could be wrong on that front. Real cool cars, baby m3 if you will

Im not a massive Beemer fan but god damn...when he opened them front doors did it look pretty from the front.... sheeeshhhhhh
Fantastic car love the bmw
Great show as always
Thank you Jonny :)
Bliksem Maar dit Is MOOI!!
We had a 318IS and I miss it,, Mother did a turn on Amajuba's pass - KZN - and it did not survive.. Sorry to say...
I've had 3 E30's, great cars, sadly rot killed mine
Nice motor, maybe Retro Power could do an M3 repro...... Just saying ....
Nice. Preferred this shape of 3 series to the later one which came out year or so later.
What a minter 😍 i was shocked shed dine so many miles
Omg I’m only 5 mins in, I had one of these, a red H reg I bought in 2005 for £250, I sold it to lad from Wrexham a few months later for £1800.

Looks like a new un. Lovely car. Cheers mate, thanks mate, Byeeeeee.
This episode doesn’t seem as genuine, too clean and slick, prefer rough and ready or not so ready in some cases
Lovely find as always, my favourite bit besides the magic of Tony BMW can of hope is the 🫧🚗🫧
❤❤ heya jonny yes the only bad bit was " coming up" apart from that this another great great video.... this bmw was like stepping back in time.... all lovely and original beautiful car,,, thanks to you and the other guy :):)... much love to you xx we love your work
Great video buddy, such a beautiful car
Classic 💯
16:52 Holy shit 😬😬😬
Dramatic barn find editing!
Not arf 😉
THE LATE BRAKE SHOW IS ACE ✅👌🗝️
Nice one, Jonny.
Jonny, please no 80s Dallas intro's to spoil what's coming or I'm going to have to dig my shoulder pads out put on the leg warmers 😅😅😅 Nice barn find though 👍 👍
Cracking motor 😊
Old School viewers with a Brain! Want
Old School performance from John
Thankey! Here in Denmark we can see
5 gear It's terrible 😱😜🔝❤️
That’s one Bonny car. 👍
Great video 👍👍👍
standout from the usual YT trash. Genuinely tempting me to go barn searching for an early M car
5:52 I'm surprised that car hasn't rusted away with such a big leek in that garage!
Top show mate
This is what we will be saying about E90 320Si in 15 to 20 years
A great car, a great video.
Always thought these were special.Persuaded Dad to get a 318is coupe E36 (at the same time I had a Peugeot 106 Rallye.Anyone know if the E36 was a much rarer car?
Love the BF episodes. Thanks Jonny. Pig Hut Nick
Johnny, Love you, love your videos, love this video. Hate the American TV grab you or you'll change channel here's some peril "coming in this episode" stuff.
A friend of mine who collects and restored German stuff told me about these years ago and I never found one.
They're a bit of an untapped source. If you know you know...
I think you know where there's a 106 Rallye in a barn, what are you waiting for.
Brilliant video as always. 😊
The 320is was the mega rare one .
So much drama in the intro. Love it.
Drivers door looked a different shade ??
I had the same car only in red. Still hurts I sold it.
Nice car but not of a stretch to call it a barn find when it was having it's tyre changed in 2017
The bit at the beginning really killed the element of surprise of what it is.Shame.
Never seen it myself would rather have a 325
Cant tell if its the drivers door or wing or even just the camera but the paint looks a shade or two out down the driver side
Drivers door has been painted.
Always a bad idea to store a car in a garage with a leek in it
So much cooler than an E30 M3!
An inner tube?!?!?
Looks like it's had paint on the front, but it's superb. Not keen on the introduction, spoils it
Sorry, but I really hate the typical American intro, where it just spoils what's coming up! Hard to skip before seeing.
We decided to try something new
Sorry you didn't like the teaser.
I didn’t like teaser either
Please Jonny, don’t do “coming in this episode” Great video though as usual...
Sorry I don't like the new intro either, i enjoy the original format with the mystery feel.
Have you ever thought of joining the AA 😂
