It really depends on what your comfortable with. Suggest trying the free version of Ableton to see if you like it.

Why not make the Sub wave start from same position (zero crossing) for no clicks and constant sound? Also if the Sub signal starts going upwards it will sound more impact full rather than downwards. It pushes the speaker.
