I think he did great. I took me a lot longer than an hour to figure out those beat patterns, lol. B+ at least, easily. One thing I think you should have said: those patterns originate from chopping breaks. It helps to know that when you’re trying to figure out how the beat repeats, because most of the original versions were just take this part, copy/paste three four times, move on. I think you can build all of them from the first beat he made, right? Pretty sure.
Thank you Stranjah for this video. My youngest son (14) just installed ableton on his MacBook and I am teaching him, Your video gave me some ideas to use for teaching him. You da best
How cool is this. I wonder if your release on Dread recordings yearsss ago is something you still have? I think it had a yellow selve?... your son maybe a future star in DnB or who knows musically!
Thank you! If you're starting producing and you want make great DnB or Jungle Beats ....this is gold! If I had this 20 years ago... awesome! If you try to figure it out by yourself, is sooo hard!
@@STRANJAH thanks brother. That’s been my whole plan. I️ wondered if you also did that since your son recently got into it. That’s awesome we think the same. I️ agree and believe at the end of the day kids need to find their own path and calling…. We as the parents are here to help support them.
The new track "Electric Mind" from Venjent & Screamarts shows the double step pattern in use "with some bass" pretty well (@1:02:01), followed by a combo with 4/4 - came into my mind as you guys were talking about implementing the swing for double step - very well done recreating all those patterns in 50 min - cheers from Vienna
So dope... I've always tried to get my little guy to make music with me, he has zero interest in it. Whatever he chooses though I will make sure he can do it to the best of his ability!
Just had a brain fart and had to type it here . I know you guys get these dumb suggestions from non producers, but I was just listening to a classic and in my head heard the dnb version and was wondering if it was even worth exploring. The song is called Helplessly Hoping by Crosby Stills and Nash. I dunno maybe I'm crazy or something, or maybe there's something really there.

Honestly, I’ve watched about 3 minutes of this, and I already think this is the greatest thing ever. Big up the next generation! Get em!
It is all about passing the knowledge to the next gen. Now they have to want it, don't force it.

Thank you Stranjah for this video. My youngest son (14) just installed ableton on his MacBook and I am teaching him, Your video gave me some ideas to use for teaching him.
You da best
That's cool, it's all about breaking down the ideas into smaller digestible concepts and build from there.
You da best dad bro,, big up :)

I️ love this! My son is 16 still hoping he wants to learn the ways! He’s always been an athlete (not a producer).
You can't force them, let them find it on their own - you can throw in little hints and gems of course ;-)

Does that big old window not reflect too much sound back when your pumping those deadly basses?
It’s not bad because I have acoustic panels all around the walls

Is it cheating to ask for the waveform?
Heads up to the one guy who downvoted, because he never knew his dad.
With all respect Asian really don’t raisin 😭You did not look enough to have a son that old 😅
Cap dude you look 30 at most how can you have a 22 yo son?

I literally thought you were like 26

He sounds English. As in his accent.

On a side note his son seems to already really know his DNB. PARENTING DONE RIGHT
Why does your son have a drastically different accent than you
drum and bass died in the late 90’s
It didn't though did it, you just can't accept change 😂
Sorry but it didn't
EDC DnB shows were packed
Lmao your chat is dead haha
This is a take up there with the Earth is flat, almond milk cures cancer and children can consent. It's just objectively batshit insane 🤣
