Just like how each character has different dash speeds, and Shinobu is the only character with, what I call, a dash float. Where while dodging in the air, Shinobu floats for a bit longer than other characters similarly to a glide. This is, while not her best, but one good gimmick that makes her amazing for air pressure.
She also is so good at avoiding everything in the air and if someone mashing while ur in the air you'll drop out of their combo and can start ur own. I always stay in the air as Shinobu
Same. I had no clue. I just hate that you're most likely going to rage even more when you accidentally heavy attack because its bound to the same controls 🤦♀️
The tip of either awakening or triggering your own ult when the opponent does is super valuable, so many times I’ve been winning a round and my opponent throws out an ult to try and save the round

To Add on to the block damage section, Dashes are 25 hits of block damage, but Specifically Shinobu and Makomo only do 20 with a dash, so they take an extra one to break guards. 2 little tips that I'm reluctant to disclose are 1. Assists do usually around a dash worth of block damage so easy guard breaks if they block is first doing a dash, then during the dash call an assist that is decently long so if the opponent blocks your dash, they have to block the assist, then just dash 2 more times during the assist and ez guard breaks as long as they don't try pushblocking or nothing. and 2. Rengoku is a monster on block because he does a crap ton of health damage with his specials even on block, literally does about a fourth of the health bar with 5 specials on block, so if you boost then dash in, do his flaming universe, then flame tiger, then another universe, then another flame tiger, and another universe and on the last hit go into surge and just spam rising scorching sun and it'll break their guard, you could also throw an assist or 2 into it maybe but if you break their guard, after all that block health damage, just keep spamming between universe and tiger and it'll kill them, so 2 bars not even 3, but if u want you can throw an ultimate at the end why not.
How many matches do you win against skilled players like that because while he does a lot he has opening in some of those move people can technically mash on if they time it and boom.
I literally started the video and you said wake up invulnerability and I subscribed. I enjoy the game a lot and knowing the intricacies let me know I'm not crazy when I experience stuff
Another little tip, that was "shown" in this video: If your opponent is blocking and there is an opening before they try to escape, while you are attacking switch to your other character and immediately grab they won't be able to escape quick enough while under the block pressure and you get a free grab out of it
Somewhat related to this topic but I'm almost sure that as players start to get better and figure out the system more, meter/resource management is going to be more important at higher levels of play, especially since skills are a big part of the game and with "Boost" and "Surge" refilling both your Skill and Support meter, by extension this makes "Boost" and "Surge" really strong mechanics that are tied to the Special meter. (Even moreso with Surge since not only do you get a second refill of Support, you get unlimited skill usage for a set amount of time too) On a related note, with how strong these mechanics are, this is really going to make winning the first few rounds of a game important because once a match gets to mid to late game, that's when things potentially start to get dangerous since that's when Surge comes into play and it's possible to lose a round in just 2~4 touches if the other player hoarded their meter.
From what I have noticed playing Hinokami chronicles is that there are openings to where you can't get out of ultimates it's when you're in a combo and one of your attacks make a big slash appear and the person can't escape an ultimate if you time it right.
A little tip i would like share in regards to the dash tip. If you really need or want to share but dont want the dash damahe nerf, jump right before the dash connects and do a down attack!
Ahh the tilt stick thing is why I keep ending my combos to early. Sometimes I accidentally move under the guy I’m smacking in the air and it stops the combo
The dash shield damage is a great tip, I usually struggle againts people who always use shield with my main giyuu, he was the absolute worst grab from all the roster almost 0 range on that thing.
Hey man globku I have no idea if you remember but I think we fought together today in ranked! I was playing Makomo and Nezuko Academy ! Just wanted to say Ggs and keep up the good vidéos !
parry tag was in storm 4 as well, but I barely saw people use it on normal online. ranked on the other hand was a sweatfest with shurikens and double jump inferno jutsus as well as neji and minato player
New player here. Your videos really help me understand DS better. Thank you! 1 question - sometimes I get into a mixup and I'll go into some short animation move that's not the ultimate and not a grab and honestly, it happens when I'm mashing my way out of traffic. It's almost like an escape animation. BUT IDK HOW IM DOING IT and I can't find any tutorials for it. Maybe it's a parry+grab? Hopefully you know what I'm talking about and can make a video!
Why did they make my main shinobu take the most damage and make the ultimate range so bad where if u want to succeed more often u have to choose the academy version 😩
With inoske if you do a regular combo and then use the full crazy cutting [tilt special] and they don’t push block you will break they guard and if they try to move 90% of the time crazy cutting it still going to hit and if it does you get a blue combos cause getting hit with CC will always give a blue combo
I remember that one time i was playing against an ai and the ai was using Inosuke. The ai tried to use an ultimate but i dashed out the way and started combing. So for dodging suggest makomo

60-70% Zenitsu combo: 4 lights, tilt triangle (I think it's Y on xbox) 4 times, and while you're doing the last one, call an assist ( I use water Tanjiro water wheel assist) and then use ult
if your having trouble against someone blocking play inosuke because he eats guards for break fast mainly because his forward special does like 5 hits and your assist classes as a special
