So 2020 x3m40i dont come with a remote start. Is there a way to buy a remote start without losing a key?? TIA
You would have to check into after market options. I don't know of any personally, but if you do decide to do it, make sure you get a reliable one, a lot of times they are not recommended aftermarket.
Question, I just bought a 2022 740ix. Just found that I had to purchase the auto start package because when I would attempt to use it, it was shut off immediately. I have a 2023 x1 and a random question... is there a way to have the Sports mode as my default mode? It's kinda annoying to have to change the mode each time I start to drive.
Unfortunately not, by default it will always start in comfort/personal mode.

Paying extra later for remote start is crazy. My Raptor is standard, along with my all the way back 2012 SRT Cherokee 🤷♂️
Yup, I will say BMW does have a little bit too many options to choose from. But one of the biggest reasons why is not all countries allow remote start, so it would be pointless for a large number of people.
@BeamerView understood, the one item I wanted on the wife's 2022 x3mc was Adaptive Cruise Control and it's not offered 🤦♂️Maybe the next one
I still miss I drive 7 but I like idrive 8.5. I love the steering wheel on this and I always loved the remote start system. Wish it came on our '23 x4 m40i in Australia :(.
Many many miss the idrive 7, it was a more simplified to use, but the best part about 8.5 is the fact that you can search for which ever setting you are trying to get to. Yes remote start is a phenomenal feature to have, unfortunately, many countries do not allow it.

Using the remote to close your windows should be a feature that is already ready to go, you would hold down the unlock button on the key fob and that should lower the windows and lock will roll them back up. I have heard that this depends on where your vehicle is built, its possible for North America BMWs but others may not have it.
Hi I have a 2024 x4 M no remote start. I looked under climate contril. Doesn’t show remote start option/ pre conditioning. Could I still buy remote start on app??
If you are in a state or country that allows it, yes you should be able to purchase it through the app or on connecteddrive.com

Hello. I have purchased the “remote engine start” like you recommended. Thank you very much-I didn’t know I could do that. Everything works fine except off: I like to put my car into “park” when I leave it. When I start the car remotely, come to the car to a running car and get in, the “park” bottom does not come off and the gear stick doesn’t work. To drive the car I have to stop the engine and restart it again. What would you recommend to go around that problem? Thank you.
You should be able to just start the car and drive. If you’re referring to the emergency brake it should just turn off as soon as you begin to drive.
You could also try turning off emergency parking by holding the brake and pushing down on the button
@@BeamerView i start car remotely, come later, engine is running, but gas pedal does nor change rpms! Gear not shifting, park button not responding… driving controls are not responding, but the engine is running. I stop the engine, restart and everything is working fine. It is the same scenario all the time.

view do you have a tip to open my fuel flap ? it wont open ? can you do it with fob ....i saw there is a green tab inside trunk but id rather not take it apart ...but i need gas soon haha
Yes you would have to do it from the inside. Highly recommend bringing that in to get it fixed.

Yes should work for both, even if you have both at the same time.

Good video. I have a 2024 X7 with iDrive 8.5. I'd never understand why pre-conditioning is done at the same temp and speed it was when you left the car even if there's a huge gap between that set temp and actual interior temp.
Remote engine start doesn’t work in the EU. Wondering if there is a workaround?
I just purchased remote engine start on my 2024 m340i (US) via connected drive store. However, I do not see the “pre-conditioning” option to then go to enable remote engine start. Do I have to wait a few days for it to activate?
I had the same issue today. I ended up uninstalling the app and reinstalling and it showed up.

Works for some iDrive 7 vehicles as well! 3 series, 4 series, x3, x4, x5, x6 5 series, etc.

Hi, today as I was driving about 12 miles an hour in traffic my dashboard beeped & screen behind my steering wheel went black for 3 seconds the only thing I saw was something red on the right top corner, it happened so quickly, it scared the crap out of me, I’m hoping you may have an idea wth happened ? Thanks
Sounds like Software error. Maybe you need an update ?

I bought it and it doesn't work. Unbelievable, garbage BMW
Takes some time to process through, up to 3 days I believe. As mentioned, make sure the feature is on, if you're having issues I'd contact BMW Assist for more info.
Also try updating apps and services.
@@BeamerView thanks for the reply, ive just seen it. I see the remote start option now but it doesnt let me select it for some reason. It shows a warning message after i try to select it, i click ok and still does the same thing over and over lol. Ill contact BMW soon
