"Door Dings" - Can be avoided. My last 3 vehicles had no door dings. My last vehicle was a 2017 Ford F-150 a full size truck that I bought in November of 2016. I traded it in for a 2024 x5 BMW. My truck had no dings because I took the time and care to select parking spaces away from other vehicles. No I did not take up 2 spaces. It often meant that I had to park a bit of a distance to my destination. However, it was worth the walk. I'm 72 years old so I have seen my share of folks "throwing" their doors open and dinging the car next to them. I know I'm generalizing but I do seek out "better" vehicles when if I have to park close. On what I think was a funny encounter, I parked next to a brand new Corvette. Empty spots were on both sides of his car. I selected the spot that had a curb with a lawn area so I knew no one would could park on that side of my vehicle. As I exited my truck, a young agitated guy approached me and demanded an explanation as to why I parked next to his Corvette. I told him that I was certain that he would not ding my door. 😄
As always, great tips. I’ve been driving BMWs over couple decades, but learn new stuff from each vid. you post. Modulated voice with deliberate speed and effort to clearly point out each gauge, button, dial, app/widget discussed, it makes learning easy. Keep it up! My 2025 Individual M440i arrives in a couple weeks, and as my current BMW a 2016, I’ll need all the help I can get. 🤣
I thought he was gonna say some special feature for not getting door dings and the answer is “park far far away….from everyone” 😂😂😂 couldn’t stop laughing.
The PDC breaking is hit or miss for me. I park really close to a wall at my house and when backing straight back, the system senses the wall and slams the brakes, even though there is absolutely no chance of hitting the wall. This has happened so many times that I had to disable this completely, even though I want this to be active when if I were to back into something or someone directly behind me. I wish they would do something about the side detection and maybe tone down the sensitivity so it wouldn't slam the brakes when I'm close to a wall but no in no danger of hitting it.
Agreed, garage spaces can get tight but we know them well so I could imagine how the car would be interrupting it. You can turn off the brake intervention portion of the feature and just rely on the PDC sensors themselves and brake when you need to.
Thanks so much for your videos. Have just traded a 2011 335i up to a 2024 430i and still trying to get over the digital shock! Your videos are helping a lot! I am finding that my iPhone keeps dropping sync causing me to have to reconnect. Anything you or anyone on the channel know that can be done to prevent the disconnect?
Congrats on the 430i. I would check the software on the phone to make sure it's up to date. Also try another phone to see if it's causing the same issue to rule out the phone or car. Another thing you could check for is to make sure the software in the car is up to date which being a 2024, it most likely should. Lastly, try doing a idrive reboot (have engine running, press and hold volume button for 30 secs, let go when the screen goes black.
Hi BeamerView, I recently purchased a BMW X5 and had to select all season tires as I live in Indiana, but I wanted to get another kind of wheels as I chose the M package, do you recommend performance tires during winter even though it’s not snowing? Thanks
In any weather where it falls below 32 Degrees, I wouldn't recommend driving on performance tires. Even though there isn't snow falling ice can still form below those temperatures and can still be unsafe. The rubber compound used in performance tires is not made to be as elastic during the winter.
I used to own a vehicle with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 "summer Performance" tires and there's actually a service bulletin from Michelin that cautions ANY use of that tire in very cold weather because the tire can be damaged. (Cracking, etc.)
Hello, when I start my 2024 BMW X5, the warm-up light comes on for a few minutes. Do I need to wait until that light goes off to start driving or can I start driving while the light is still on? Thank you.
You do not have to wait, you can drive but keep your driving slow. It's better to drive on it slow while it's warming up so it'll get it done faster too as when you begin to drive the engine begins to warm up faster.
13:24 wait is that post 2019 feature? mine sets to the current speed of the gauge as a new speed while on cruise, but will alert you if you hit it without cruise enabled? Man fix one thing, break another.
I believe so, when you turn the feature on, it'll set to the speed the vehicle is going. When you press set, it will set to the speed of the speed limit sign.
I had RWD e61 and found out that in winter most of time you shouldn’t turn off traction control if you stuck somewhere. Because turning off most of time allows only one wheel to spin. So if you don’t need speed you let traction control work and it will spin both wheels.
The tailgate height is good to know. For me, l already have dings on my tailgate from hitting top of garage. I’ve purchased the paint touch up, but now I can prevent it from happening in the future.
@JahCm, when I took delivery of my 2024 x5, a young guy walked me through some of the technology. That included setting my tailgate height lower. I had watched a similar video before that warned of potential tailgate damage. As a result, that was on my "todo" list after I took delivery. So I was very happy the guy did it for me. That said I still checked the tailgate opening before I opened it in the garage. No problems.
Lol. Looking good, bro! Why do you hate your reflection being on camera? You have that bmw class look. Be proud of that, my dude. I also hate my look on camera 😂

When is it advisable to use a battery tender on my BMW M2? There are times when my M2 isn't drive for 2-4 weeks. Is it advisable to use a tender in these cases?
The vehicle should turn on at least once a week to keep it healthy. If you feel this won't be accomplished you can put on the trickle charger. It's better for it to be on the trickle charger than to let it sit around.
Prone to hitting kerbs? Interesting, mine doesn't have that problem. I mostly park in narrow old-town streets of an European city, so the parking spaces tend to be quite small, and yet I've never had this problem.

Climate control rules! That's one feature I wish they kept. The way that it's designed to work is having your climate control set to auto, the heated seats and wheel should turn on automatically and intensity will shift depending on how quick or slow the vehicle is trying to get to the target temp.

I have a 2024 x5m60i but during the break in period if you drove it hard on occasion how bad can it damage the car? Isn't that why the limiter is put in place to prevent damage?
M60i isn't too much to worry about. X5M would be a different story. Break in period is also more for safety reasons since the brakes, suspension, tires, and other components all have to settle in together. I wouldn't worry about it if you've already got past the period but if you're still under the 1200 mile mark it's good to just play it safe.
Off-beat question. I just took delivery of an X5 40i with 22-inch black wheels and performance tires. Dealer inflated to 50 psi, but car says 40 and 43 is the correct pressure. 10 psi usually isn't a problem, the reason why they do that is mainly during the winter months like now. Temperature can contract and expand the tires so by over inflating a little bit more than usual, you would be less likely having to put more air into the tires since it'll drop the psi along the months.

Man that screen makes me sad.. sure it looks like a space ship and super futuristic but it somehow doesn't look like a car anymore
Takes some time getting use to but after a while it does make sense going in the direction. The use of voice commands is a big new way forward!
Dealer never told us to use premium gas, new to BMW have used reg. Unleaded so far. Thanks for the videos, watched a few.
Do not use regular (87)
You must use at least 89 or higher.
Enjoy your videos; but, you need to either change your chanel name or its content. The term "beamer" is used to refer to BMW motorcycles. The correct term for BMW automobiles is "bimmer."
Factsssss.
#1 Mistake is driving it, it could really damage the car
My last BMW got ran over by a truck while I was parked.
4:18 Never saw a BMW not using his turn signal 😂
I still have yet to figure out what it is =)
So annoying how many times you say bmw in these videos... damn... love the content but damn ma boy! The channel is valled bimmerview say bimmer once or twice a video...

#1 mistake: buying a BMW
Mistake worth making.
haha. Not buying a BMW i4 M50 is a massive mistake. 😄🔥🔥
Love my new BMW X1. My only regret is not being able to buy the slightly larger X3. I just didn’t want to deal with runflat tires.
@@mtntm5628I’m on my 2nd X3. On my last one, I had a nail in one of the tires, a slow leak. I replaced all four $$$$😢
@@robingeorgetowntx why do you have to replace all 4, not one or two?
