Ok so red dead is a mixture of 3 games: gta v, gta iv, and red dead redemption, and here is what they mixed Gta v:graphics, weather and, lighting Gta Iv:physics, logic and, side jobs Rdr:story, characters, and nature
You missed a comparison with the rain. In IV when it rains peds take out umbrellas or hold newspapers over their heads. The police also change from their regular uniforms to wearing raincoats and rainbags for their hats.
There's one thing I really liked doing in GTA IV, I was hitting a taxi with a baseball bat and ran to the cops and let him punch me, so the cops would arrest him :D
IV still manages to surprise me. I never knew that if you go on a date, then go on another date after changing clothes, the girl will remark on what you changed. If you wore glasses the first time and then removed them, they usually say they liked the glasses on you and miss them. It’s crazy how much detail is in the game to give life to the city.
I love the details they added in GTA4 and how good the story was. However, a fun game for me will always be better than a detailed but slightly tedious game. No matter who you are, you have to admit that 5 is so much more fun to play.
@@omsaxena116 It's fun for "baby's first FPS & Sandbox" but anybody will quickly grow bored and look for better, more substantial games. If you get filtered by it's age then you probably shouldn't be playing games in the first place since all the good ones were made before 2012.
@Manix MMJ you can't get too close to a cop without a good reason, let alone touching them. that's damn common sense bruh. you should talk with a real policeman about this. also, the cops in GTA V won't shoot you unless you have a gun or run away. and shotguns aren't rare to see when you start to shoot the police.
@Manix MMJ maybe you won't get arrested, but they will most likely pull out a gun or taser. it's just that the game interprets this as "you will be arrested", but it's still more realistic than GTA IV and you also say "got shot" which again, never happens unless you use a gun or run away. btw in most countries, you actually can get arrested just by talking shit to a cop or doing anything disrespectful.
I think the biggest disappointment for me was the lack of interiors in GTA 5. GTA 4 had so many interiors that made you feel like the city is alive and not just a backdrop
@@KK-on9hn ye but i wish you could choose the menu in IV like in SA, that would've been perfect, switching between burgers, fries, and a full lunch would've been cool too.
I could never understand the stupidity, whenever you stand next to any random pedestrian. They'll either run away or start beating you up? I mean WTF? Why GTA 5?
Most of Rockstar's IPs are dependant brand value and cult status now. No innovation or making the gameplay fun. I played GTA V for 70 hours to complete the story and that was it. But I'm still playing a silly Game like Saints row iv for the fun gameplay it delivers.
I played GTA 4 at release. And for me it was like Red Dead Redemption 2 is for young gamers nowadays. Everything was perfect, the city, the people, everything was so alive and had its own life. It was overwhelming playing it 15 years ago, still is. The crazy thing is this game doesn’t even need a remake or remaster. Just to be available for everybody.
But how is cockstar gonna rake in money from microstations that way. You didn't think about that did you? That company is more money hungry than the IRS
Rather Epical Videos also the random gang events, I remember in vice city gangs would patrol in cars and sometimes drift into other gangs turf causing a shoot out, I also miss the distinct gang cars and dressing up as a certain gang and having other gangs attack you.
If GTA VI doesn't bring all the great details that GTA IV had, and improve upon them and add even more world building mechanics, I'll be hugely disappointed.
@@mushroomtio9691 The offline was the best game I have ever seen. Eventhough the online failed to meet the standards, there is no denying rdr2 is a masterpiece in every regard.
@@mushroomtio9691Bro you got it all wrong GTA 5 was fking overrated lol, good graphics also good stuff added but horrible story, worse and way less impressive physics, etc. RDR 2 is actually better in almost every aspect apart from multiplayer, but who cares since both multiplayer are horrible.
@@properduction2586 I mean, what i meant is basically not that good compared to the others, the addition of 3 characters with their own stories were game changing if i were to be honest but it felt bland.
After playing the game this year, i was impressed by the little bits of details that were in gta 4, like how using your siren when in an ambulance or police vehicle, ped cars would give space and u wouldnt need to pay any money to cross the bridge.
Me: *accidentally touches a NPC in GTA IV* NPC: Hey be careful. Me: Oh sorry mate! NPC: *walks off like nothing happened* Me: 😏 *steals a car and touches the NPC, making the NPC loose his balance* NPC: Hey watch it! Me: 😏 😈 *Backs up and speeds up to 100 mph* NPC: *GOES FLYING!*
The way NPCs in GTA 4 look at their injuries and looking at you approaching them makes killing them a little uncomfortable sometimes, whereas GTA 5 everyone is just a silly ragdoll cartoon character
GTA V has golf and stock investment. Though to be honest, I didn't bother with it lol. They removed the friend system which was a step in the wrong direction. So I had no incentive to partake in those activities unless I really wanted to.
The atmosphere is unmatched, GTA IV made me feel like I was a 2-bit gangster who was going 3-bit and at the time when I was 7 years old this game was all I needed. Going online, earning money to increase Player level for new clothes was all I cared about. Free Mode was actually fun, driving around the city when it was Night was actually beautiful. All those hours sitting in the online lobbies listening to the GTA IV theme. Made me feel like I was walking thru a high class condominium while plotting on how I’m going to take over Liberty City.
@@DeflatedHorse Lol no. The same engine is used in 5, but they messed up the configuration parameters for it for no good reason, the same with many other mechanics.
Personally I hate the missions in the game because it’s always drive halfway across the map and back and if you die or fail the mission you have to restart
One detail about GTA4 which I've noticed only a week ago is that everyone is constantly honking at you if you drive the wrong lane/against traffic/during red light.
They just honk at you all the time. If you try to blend in with normal traffic and drive like normal they will honk. But that might be pretty realistic now that I think.
@@DoctorKrabs at least it isnt like los santos where if you dont slam the gas pedal the exact second the light turns green, they act like you're gonna hold up traffic for an hour and start going around you
@@wanilimbe RDR2 isn the closest we have got to it but even that isn't as good. Try it by knocking people down cliffs and stairs. Was still way more exaggerated in gta iv
Big Lenny's hairy smelly gooch yeah exactly. The only thing is the power of guns in gta 4, in terms of people’s health rdr1 is the best and has the most realistic responses to getting shot. Gta 4 is better in terms of stumbling down stairs, getting hit by cars etc like you said, but everyone takes at least 5 rounds to the chest and survive, usually without falling over, so the power of weapons was the only flaw.
@@massinissa175 sorry, poor choice of a word. Yeah, it's still fun today. Crazy how this game came out almost 15 years ago. I replayed it recently after several years, and yeah, it's still addictive as hell.
Brings back good ole memories. Holding up in the hospital and killing cops, shootings helicopters down with the RPG and it not completely blow up, walking into pedestrians and pushing them down stairs. Damn, I forgot how good and how much I loved GTA IV.
+OVO Dre Its fucked most things you forget about until you you're reminded of it. I remembered more from this montage than from playing GTA IV again. I completely forgot about online, even though I had so many good times on there.
There was also one other thing that I really appreciated in GTA IV. After beating up civilians, they usually weren't dead unless you continued to beat them while they were laying around groaning, or if you shot or blew them up before hand. Sometimes the ambulance would pull up after a fight and the medics would try to resuscitate the citizens. If you didn't keep beating them up the doctors would resuscitate them and lead them to the back of the ambulance. If you killed them the medics would make a sad remark, and then go on about their day.
One thing that stands out for the most is that fact that shooting someone in GTA 4 feels MUCH more satisfying. In GTA V it feels like you're shooting paper.
Thing I hate the most about V is that you punch or shoot someone once they die, it’s so boring and unsatisfying. On IV you can shoot someone a few times in non fatal areas and they will be injured and trying to get away whilst nursing their injury. Also the cops in V are just annoying and everywhere, it’s like you can’t even punch someone in the desert without getting a wanted level.
@@HivoltageCS depends on the mission, most of them are just a call of someone telling you something, maybe how you die or they will do something if you are with them
When I played GTA 5 for the first time I was impressed by the graphics, but right off the bat I noticed so many things were left out. Especially the driving.
Man, i just love how the last minute or so is just unapologetically GUSHING about all the cool stuff that was in GTAIV. No comparison to 5 is needed, the footage of 4 just speaks for itself. @@Prince.Shoaib-back2YT did you even read my comment? Not once did i say anything bad about 5. I dont think its a bad game, in fact ive spent hundreds of hours on the game. I'm just more nostalgic about 4
You can't really blame rockstar for not making V as realistic as IV. You should blame all the people who said that IV was a boring game when they had no idea what they were talking about.
+TheBjcn I couldn't stand GTA 4 because it was a boring mess, every character was the same, with a similar voice, it was too try hard to be realistic when the series isn't about realism.
+TheBjcn They took some realistic stuff out and added some other realistic stuff. Didnt you pay attention to how low is your hp compared to gta 4 ? or how when you jump against the wall you fall over ? or how people have hard time moving after they were shot in the leg ? even police officers drag others who have fallen away behind cover... also ai is much better in terms of how they approach you and try to surround you ? Same with vehicle chases. Physics of you falling got much more realistic too, you don't slide on the ground forever like on the planet with less gravity than moon. The problem isn';t that gta 5 is not as realistic, problem is they took away fun unrealistic stuff and fun realistic stuff giving not really better alternatives.
The cops in 5 don't even technically derail you, your front tires are programmed to snap sideways when they ram your car to give some fake impression they caused you to lack control. Such BS like this doesn't get enough attention.
This is such an eye-opening realisation about why I spent hundreds of hours playing GTA4 while with GTA5 I only finished it once on PS3 and never bothered finishing it again despite making another attempt later on PC. I didn't notice all those little things... BUT MY BRAIN DID.
GTA 5 is definitely better than GTA 4. GTA 5 has three playable characters, stock market, car and weapon customisation, parashute (not to mention, even gta sa had half of these features), you can tow any NPCs vehicles, you can interact with the NPCs. You are more than welcome to tell me what does gta 4 have other than bowling, mid-physics, and interiors.
Why the hell are NPC in GTA5 so agressive? You are just standing next to them and they start attacking you? What were developers thinking about? Edit: lol stop replying the same comments "this is America", "this is L.A.", you are not the first
I think they just say: "Ok, we have to made a funny game, for all who wants yo play" and do it. No wants to be realistic. (I am from South America and I don't speak very good English, sorry if I write wrong anything)
+Taylor Sparks What the FUCK are you even talking about? I can go outside Any minute, anyone can, but we aren't talking about real life, we are talking about the game itself. Now just stop replying to every comment that is about realism, or something like that. You should really go outside yourself.
***** Of course not. It's just ridiculous how these people complain about the dumbest things in these games. Like how just because the cops shoot at you if you're standing so close is dumb because it's not REALISTIC
In GTA IV there's actually an npc that's calls the cops when you commit a crime (sometimes). You can spot them by shooting in the middle of a crowd from long distance with the sniper riffle. And if you shoot in time the npc making the call, you don't get the wanted level star.
@Madd Springtrap It's a common thing to have people randomly stop within your immediate vicinity, and it's very realistic that most people won't physically respond unless prompted. The majority of folk don't want trouble; and that's exactly what you'll get if you start pushing and punching at people who are doing nothing but simply standing a bit close to you within a pubic space. GTAV NPCs are unrealistically irritable and hostile.
One of the things that I really liked about GTA 4 which they didn’t have in GTA 5 was how you could save cheats on your phone, which meant that you didn’t have to spend time re entering them. If you were on a 6 star police chase and taking damage then you could just top up your health easily or spawn a new car.
Dan McIsaac I agree but I liked how they changed it up escaping cops in GTA V which was much harder where as in GTA IV you just have to escape the wanted circle which is simple
Can't wait for gta 6 to come out so you can do a comparison video between 4 and 6 . I have a feeling rockstar is going to make it pretty similar to 5 . Those leaked videos that came out a few months ago looked pretty much like gta 5 , the look and feel of it anyways. I'd be way more hyped for it if it had the look and feel of gta4 .

@@MP-tz2yn Well, maybe arrest depending on how hard you shoved them, as the level of force you used could determine whether or not it was a harmless shove, or an act of assault. If you had to run past, and you gently shoved them, they'd probably wouldn't care, or, depending on their personality, either jokingly, or seriously insult you. However yeah, if you like shoved them to the ground, you'd probably get arrested
I'm dissapointed that he didn't include the ambulances, in GTA IV, they actually put people on stretchers and into the ambulance, in GTA V, nope, he dead, whatever lol.
I like how in IV you can fly through the windshield no matter which way the car is facing, while in V I swear the script or whatever that is suppose to make the character fly through the windshield makes the character just dive out by opening a door if the car is not on all four wheels.
I honestly think that in GTA 4 the city is more alive and open with more opportunities that you can think of. That includes me harassing homeless people in the game
A huge shame it didn’t reach it’s full potential. It was meant to be more of a simulation where you’d have to avoid certain areas because the police knew you, real estate prices would increase/decrease based on your crimes and certain vehicles would only spawn at certain locations on certain days (supercars on Friday and weekend evenings, SUVs during school and work hours etc.), there was a plan to bring back gang wars from SA and buildings would need to be repaired or deteriorate based on the crime level.
I love how in GTA IV you also have GPS in vehicles which tells you when to take turn, to take a U-Turn, When you arrived at the destination but in GTA V they ditched that system fully !
And if i remember correctly, it also depends on which car you're actually driving too, older and crappier cars don't have the GPS voice while some nicer cars have them.

In gtav the character always turns the car off before leaving which explains why you can't hear the music but it was still such a nice little detail in 4
@IVXX-ELITE well ill give you that, they do only care about gtao nowadays, but at first when they were developing they did care about the game and since they were originally launching it for the Xbox 360 and ps3 they had to remove some content in order to add other content

There are two things in the video that are more realistic in GTA V: Franklin dying when he jumps from the helicopter into the water and the molotov cocktail not exploding. Water has a lot of superficial tension so falling into it from high distances is actually like falling onto concrete. Molotov cocktails don't explode, they spread a flammable substance and light it on fire.
In GTA IV I loved having hijacking someones car and then going in front of a police officer when they pulled me out. I always died laughing when they were the ones who got arrested.

As a kid, playing this on the 360; I was chasing down one of the Lost and Damned on a motorcycle. He eventually got off his bike at a park and started shooting a sawed-off shot gun at me. As I got off my bike, I started walking down on him from a distance, shooting an uzi. The Damned character then stumbles over the root of a tree from the spray of my bullets, drops his shotgun, and it lands straight up on the handle with the barrel facing up n' BLASTS his head apart. GTA V definitely bothered me when I wasn’t able to climb on objects and parkour as well as Nico did. Not being able to jump onto a wall that’s clearly scalable instead you just rag doll into it was incredibly annoying.
@@Juancastilo-i2d Niko was in the Serbian Armed Forces during the 1990s-2000s. Yet, Carl Johnson who was not in ANY MILITARY, is able to do the same thing as Niko. It's not the military, it's the game just being bad if you can't climb things.
Thats not the only thing. In GTA IV you can hang onto those things and then choose where you wanna climb while in GTA V you just simply climb where the character stands.
I like the detail, when Niko in Taxi he can have a small talks with driver, or when you switch radio he asks drivers permission and even says radio station that player chose
Yeah, I also "missed" GTA IV and decided to play it for the nostalgia a few days ago. The first thing I noticed was how much the graphics hurt my eyes and I wasn't tempted to do any missions again either. Go there -- kill this guy. Go there -- kill that guy. Go over there -- kill a couple more guys. Kill, kill, kill. Now drive a car somewhere. BORING. Now you've fcked up on a mission; you have to start from scratch. At least GTA V had a lot more variety in its missions, though tbh I didn't really love the story. All I know is I had way more fun exploring the map in GTA V than I did doing practically anything on GTA IV.
Gta V Cops have aimbot and hate you when your near them. Gta IV Cops think your a regular citizen and go for cover and don’t banzai you like they do in Gta V.
In GTA V it seems they tried too hard to make it satirical of real life. Considering in Los Angeles and people in general seem to get offended and angry easier to higher extents. The police also are overhauled when it comes to real life situations of cops firing on people for no reason. GTA 4 was before all of that really started to take hold and become open, terrorism was the one of the biggest problems.
I know that doesn't represent reality, but, if we take GTA V as a hyperbole of American society, that kind of attitude fits well. When we look over RUclips, we see a lot of "Officer, there's a guy looking strange right next to me, get here right now!". Everybody is about personal space in GTA, Even the cops at 0:03. Which is funny, cos just recently I watched a "police officer plays GTA" video, and she mentioned there that getting closer than 6 feet of an officer if you are not a witness or victim could qualify as assault. Which is ridiculous, but, I can see where GTA gets the idea for these crazy AIs.
I remember in GTA IV multiplayer randomly talking to people and grouping up to do random stuff. One friend I made because I showed him some of the glitches I found online always asked me to play and it was so much fun. We would get large groups of people and attempt roleplaying, which would eventually just turn into cops and robbers. We would all get fast cars and race at the airport, it was so much fun and I felt like a lot more creative on how to spend time. In GTA V multiplayer, when I used to play, I remember running from people, trying not to die, and constantly not having any money to buy any of the new stuff. GTA IV multiplayer honestly hit different.
i used to play gta 4 free mode after school like everyday. i remember always doing the swing glitch with random people, and also glitching into the empire state building with the annihilator and landing on the sand under the map. once I saw someone driving the tug boat near the airport. it was tempting to try and blow it up, but i decided to jump out of my chopper and join the guy on his boat trip lol.
Those GTA Races in gta4 were some of the most fun I ever had playing a game... GTA 5 was a totally different experience and not in a good way. It had its moments though
GTA IV is more realistic, harder and grittier, more like a modern drama flick, GTA V is goofier, easier and funnier, more like a 90s action movie, they're both great. Although I do prefer IV. I hope Rockstar learns from RDR2 and makes a more realistic experience in VI.
Thank you. I, for one, appreciate that GTA 5 decided to take a complete departure from the tone of GTA 4 (although, if I'm being honest, it's more GTA 4 that took the departure from the rest of the series and 5 was a return to form). GTA IV is a cool game, but I don't think I would want every sequel to have that same dark, grey visual style with those same heavy physics. GTA V is basically the new console equivalent to San Andreas, while IV is the equivalent to GTA 3 - both in setting, as well as tone.
GTA 4 looks much goofier than GTA 5. The ragdolls in GTA5 are so real. In GTA 4 it feels like the npc and niko is made up of paper when they fly this high after a crash with a motorcycle.
@@wilkepack214 Have you seen planes crash in GTA 5? My brain would shut itself down the moment I would see a 747 exploding into 6 different parts just because a the edge of the plane tapped a lamppost.
So Rockstar, if you're worried about GTA 6 not selling well, and we can be damn sure you are, the solution to this is to combine GTA 5's graphics and map size to GTA 4's seemingly infinite amount of small details. That'll 100% sell well, and it will give the game replay value similar to GTA 4

@Manix MMJ maybe you won't get arrested, but they will most likely pull out a gun or taser. it's just that the game interprets this as "you will be arrested", but it's still more realistic than GTA IV

There was also one other thing that I really appreciated in GTA IV. Sometimes the ambulance would pull up after a fight and the medics would try to resuscitate the citizens. If you didn't keep beating them up the doctors would resuscitate them and lead them to the back of the ambulance. I know that doesn't represent reality, but, if we take GTA V as a hyperbole of American society, that kind of attitude fits well.
When we look over RUclips, we see a lot of "Officer, there's a guy looking strange right next to me, get here right now!".
Everybody is about personal space in GTA,
Even the cops at 0:03.

Thank you. GTA IV is a cool game, but I don't think I would want every sequel to have that same dark, grey visual style with those same heavy physics.
GTA V is basically the new console equivalent to San Andreas, while IV is the equivalent to GTA 3 - both in setting, as well as tone.
