SCP-1966 is a backscatter X-Ray device. It was purchased by the American Transportation Security Administration for use in an International Airport. It is approximately 3m x 4m x 4m. Passive scans reveal no deviations between the internal structure of SCP 1966 and other body scanners using the same design.
Shortly after being placed in service, SCP1966 has been emitting the sound of a male human voice. The voice emanates from resonant vibrations in the [REDACTED], and no cause for these vibrations has yet been determined. The voice will respond to speech and other sounds in the vicinity of SCP-1966, and is apparently representative of a sentient consciousness resident within SCP-1966. SCP-1966 will vocalize regardless of any connection to a power source.
SCP-1966 claims to be an insurance salesman from London, Ontario. SCP-1966 claims its last memory before “going blind and unconscious” was his daughter’s fifth birthday party, 24 hours prior to SCP-1966’s first vocalization. SCP-1966 claims to currently have no sensory feedback other than hearing, pain, and a sense of vibrations. (It has shown some awareness of when it has been moved, and when attempts have been made to open the outer casing.)

It was over 20 years ago. There's a mod to make it more accurate now and it makes a lot more sense like Shadow saying "That was Chaos Control" after the Bio-Lizard warps to merge with the ARK where as the dub has him say "Is that what Chaos Control is" when he of all people should know what it is.

This isn’t even the only instance of a human consciousness being cloned to another thing. SCP-1192 “Timmy” is a Cockatoo with the consciousness of a still-living 8 year old.

This SCP is why most of the early SCP's are the best. No long winded, overly drawn out gigantic blocks of text. Not a reality destroying god being or some outlandish end of the world scenario. No sense of 'I wrote this to be totally more scary and overpowered' than the other guy's keter level universe ending threat.
Just an oddity. A tragic oddity at that. Something to sit and ponder and think about. Something to try and figure out what it is and how it came to be.

Use the Claw SCP to put that guy's soul into a robotic/human body. The issue stands in the identity story that shows how things were made by the group that experimented with imprinted memories on an AI or/and even human(even both then they switched lives) that they thrown away strangely due to being concerned about the experiment's results.

I think the possibility for that machine to have a similar Consciousness to Mr J. In the story of course, would be that there is a similarity in the circuitry or the neural network. Cuz there is actually a theory about how Consciousness occurs in the human brain. Depending on the structure of the microtubules of the brain, it essentially can absorb a consciousness existing within the theoretical Quantum field. Which means that each individual brain fingerprint is literally a access code to one's own soul.

The origin of it kinda reminds me of SCP-1192 Timmy. Where it's mind and personality have the same possible imprint as the same person its based on.

the state of the consciousness sounds similar to "true solitary", although it is able to feel pain and communicate
I'd like to see a scenario where the foundation finds more anomalies like SCP-1192 and SCP-1966 and finds the root cause, maybe an idea signature-swapping noospheric entity, or a society of body snatchers who live in the Alps. If I remember correctly, at the end of SCP-1192 there was a detail that Timmy (As a parrot) said that the thing inside his original body "wasn't him", implying something took it from him, so, in theory, this could make sense.

God airports are the worst. The crazy long and unnecessary lines, the violation of personal space. Sentient machines bugging you through security check. What at annoying way to travel.
Imagine having to get patted down every time you go thru security cuz my insulin pump can’t go thru the X-ray machines
It isn’t as terrible as it used to be. Obviously it’s not the same for everyone. But it largely depends on if there is any reason for you to be stopped and checked (like the man with the insulin pump. Which btw I’m really sorry to hear about that. That would suck).
I’ve had to fly a lot lately and it’s not nearly as bad as it used to be. Though during tests I’ve heard the TSA failed the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of ever catching any of the actual dangerous substances.
BUT HEAVEN FORBID YOU WANT TO CARRY ANYMORE THAN 3.4 OZ of a liquid! OR A FULL THING OF TOOTHPASTE! TBH thats the only things that ever really bother me. But having to check your luggage with all that isn’t the end of the world.

She's probably thinking how great this story is and how her article she's writing would help her career. Sometimes we get caught up over the novel or unusual circumstances and we forget that there are people attached to those stories. It can often be seen with med students seeing a rare and impressive tumor

It makes no sense that the Scanner thinks he is human but also threatens that something bad will happen if one continues upseting him. If he knows abuot the Radiation weapon, he actualy knows of his true form, is only an actor of Mr.J. and wants to make others suffer. Neutralize him, there is no need of 1966 to survive as the real Mr.J. is still alive.

Huge waste of resources for an anomaly that can be easily contained in a box of lead. While it can apparently emit deadly radiation at short range, there is absolutely nothing to suggest it being an actual danger to population centers at any distance, especially nothing requiring 100km of space. Interesting concept, but with ill-thought execution.
