The dancing to idoteque into sobbing to motion picture soundtrack into forgetting to look at the time stamp on untitled was truly a string of song reactions
How to disappear completely... Story behind it is Thom got completely burnt out for touring after the success of OK computer and the noise got too much. It was Michael Stipe of R.E.M who helped him through that tough time. The discordant orchestral music in the background represents the internal and external noise. Love the atmosphere. So otherworldly
Also, lyrics are based off of one of their big performances. He had a nightmare before the show where he was floating down the Liffey, and the words I’m not here this isn’t happening is from a friend who told him to keep saying to yourself “I’m not here, this isn’t happening” during the show

I feel like national anthem doesn’t get the hype it deserves. It’s one of my favorite Radiohead tracks. It builds like ravels bolero or something and by the end I’m always jamming
The National Anthem slaps so fucking hard I can barely stand it. One of their top songs for me
Agreed - the cacophony of electronic sounds and classic instruments entangled into something that sounds like futuristic jazz and serves like a commentary on the state of the world and its affairs.

your reaction to How To Disappear Completely is exactly how I reacted when I first listened to the song. Even though OK Computer & In Rainbows are some of their best albums, but Kid A holds something special in my heart and I can only listen to it if I ever wanna get lost in the Kid A world again.
First time i heard idioteque it was in a radio as i was half in a dream and waking up. I lost all concept of reality it was life changing. It is said like discoteque like an electronic disco

Just wanted to say Subterranean was also my favorite song at one point. It's still one of my favorites and I feel it doesn't get enough recognition for its beautiful ambience and effects. Great reaction once again bro keep going.

Whenever I need to cry, I listen to How to Disappear Completely. It's not my FAVORITE song of all time but if I had to pick which song is the greatest of all time, It'd be this.
I'm so glad the audio wasn't bad for How to Dissappear Completely because seeing your reaction was absolutely great, I felt the same way about that song and it is a definite 10/10
Now you understand why that song makes this whole album worth it for so many people. Kid A definitely isn't the strongest as a whole album. But there are some really special songs on it. Motion Picture Soundtrack is my other favorite from this album. I really want to see your reaction to The Bends. There are some really great vocals on The Bends.
Yea I for sure get it now. Motion Picture Soundtrack and How to Disappear Completely were a couple of the most otherworldly songs I’ve honestly ever heard. The feeling while listening was so good and understanding the lyrics really made each song just hit even harder!! So glad you and others suggested this :)

Broo I loved the reaction, all in all this album tends to be a grower for most people, after more than one listen you get used to the electronic sound of the project and begin to appreciate it more and more. If you decide to go for another project from them, right now I would recommend either The Bends or Amnesiac. Amnesiac is the follow up to the concept of this album and they’re both actually connected, while The Bends has some of the most popular rock songs from the band. Whichever way you go you’d probably enjoy what you hear :)

Go for amnesiac / Hail to the thief next! amnesiac was like the double album for kid a but was realeased separatly, hail to the thief was next for those 2.
Idioteque is a blend of ‘idiot’ and ‘discotheque’ so it’s pronounced “I-dee-o-tekk”
Untitled is going to the heaven part (that's sound of heaven), after the goodbye in motion picture soundtrack

I didn’t realize that in limbo was skipped until the end. That’s one of my favorites, how do you feel about it?
Do yourself a favour and dig through YT for the older versions of Motion Picture Soundtrack. Theres a third verse out there that is even more tear enducing.
It's also dropped in various TV shows and films and scores big feels. I-Origins being my personal favourite, although WestWorld also does it credit.
Just an amazing song, album and band.
Also the brass version played at a memorial is incredibly emotional, the build up is insane!

I‘m really curious, how you gonna like The King of Limbs, and of course A Moon Shaped Pool. (Hail to the thief aswell though! that album was my life for a year, when it came out^^) so cool to see someone discovering Radiohead for the first time, and being so open for the beauty of it. gotta check out your MF DOOM-reactions aswell, I‘m a huge fan of him (RIP)!

I recommend the next album you listen to is Radiohead - Hail To the Thief. its by far my personal favorite and it has such beautiful songs on it that I know you will have another few crazy reactions to.
I also recommend the album Royal Blood - Back To The Water Below. its my personal favorite album of all time, and it blends multiple different styles so im sure you will atleast love some of the tracks on there. I think you would also react insanely to that album cause it has some truly elevating moments!

I think there would be no better follow up than Amnesiac, because it has been considered to be a double album in the first place
