Everyone, Ed here is the creator of Ecco the Dolphin! Let’s all tell him how much the series means to us (even if the first game is so hard it makes me want to bite my controller in half!)
I played the original ecco the dolphin on my Sega Game gear in middle school and it will always stick with me. It was so different and unique; it was unlike anything else I'd played up to that point. Evocative art and trance-like music. It made me realize that games could be anything. Not just Sonic, Mario, and Panzer General. Truly one of a kind.
I was a Nintendo kid, but going to a friend's house and seeing (and hearing) Ecco the Dolphin made me want a Sega so bad haha. I picked it up on steam recently and it still holds up so well!
I played the first Ecco The Dolphin a lot as a kid. Can't say I was good at it tho :D Ed, do you know of the album called "SOUND WAVES: A Tribute to Ecco the Dolphin"? It contains a lot of covers of Ecco music by musicians of various styles, made with love for the series.
That’s an awesome album! And a lot of those musicians are good friends of ours. Really cool takes on the soundtrack on there - soundwavesecco.bandcamp.com
Love this! Ecco has a brilliant soundtrack, thank you for doing it justice. My only nitpick is that you didn't have the end of the GNR "Estranged" video in the background where Axl is inexplicably with a dolphin saying "Lose your illusions, love Axl, GNR 93"
"Ecco the Dolphin" series has some of the greatest OSTs in VGM history. Heavily inspired by Pink Floyd, but adds ideas from the creator of this genius game. Hats off Ed Annunziata. True masterpiece game (1-2 parts). And cheers to Spencer Nilsen. And the fact that it inspired whole genres in music - mind blowing. Great and sad at the same time, if you know the genre. I listened this OSTs literally thousands of times, each and every composition. No exaggerating in that. Underestimation even probably. Very interesting how you made arrangements to these themes.
If you were to listen to the Ecco the Dolphin soundtrack all the way through exactly 2000 times (the lowest number possible to be considered "thousands"), that would be 52.92 days of listening. You've spent 53+ days listening to Ecco the Dolphin?
Tired of billions of fools like you with this "underrated" bs. It's not underrated, it's just not very popular. But every connoisseiur knows that it's one of the greatest.
@@alex_alex_alex_ lmao he so mad. I know ur just a troll burner account but a lot of the higher viewed Ecco vids on RUclips call the ost “‘meh” and even “annoying” which I don’t understand at all
Uugghh!!! ECCO THE DOLPHIN!! Yo, this game was so beautiful. Sad and captivating with an extremely well made OST. You guys nailed it, as usual. Loved it. So many thanks for covering this. Brings me back
Got serious Ozzy Osbourne "Perry Mason" vibes from that middle section. I wonder if the composer was an Ozzy fan back in the day? Great work, you guys! 🤘🤘

OHHHHHHH. I wished the both of you played it longer minutes and/or hours. This my jam and gonna learn this one day even if I have to pay for it. Thanks for the uploaded. This kept me sane while in foster care for 5 years.
I never even played this game, but yet again, your musical ability transcends your genre. This is beautiful music that speaks to ones soul. Incredible arrangement!
This is so awesome!! I already frequently listen to the OST of this amazing illusive game but to hear it on a acoustic guitars from you talented people cheered me up! :)
This game creeped me out as a kid. I didn’t understand what was going on and I didn’t understand how to progress very far after the tornado thing happens. Maybe it makes more sense if you look through the manual or something but I thought it was like some mystery that needed to be solved when I was little.
It's a creepy, oppressive, lonely game that really gives you the feeling that you're deep underwater and cut off from the air. Also, the final boss is actually terrifying.
Lol this game came up in conversation a week or two ago with my sister - I remember how fun it was to do all sorts of crazy flips out of the water. Blast from the past
The sound tracks to Ecco 1 & 2 are amongst the best ever amongst all Mega Drive (Genesis) games. Amazing tunes with very little of that "twang" some people (not me) dislike about FM sounds.
I would love to hear you both play in solfeggio frequencies. Its basically tuning your A string to 444hz in stead of 440hz and then tuning every other string to that A string. Of course you will have to adjust your intonation a bit but its sooo worth it. Give it a try. I love your guys music and your playing. its absolutely amazing.
This is AWESOME, made my day! No, made my year!!! NO, MADE MY PANDEMIC!

What genres did the Ecco OSTs inspire?

@@inkujon Yes. More than that.
Ecco and I spent a great many hours crashing beaks. Thanks for this! Bravo!

I didnt think many people knew about this game, I sure didnt.. Played it, and now I see you covered it. What a treat!
Cant wait!! This game was my childhood
I frikkin loved ecco! Such a mysterious feel to it.
Also my childhood!! I'm glad someone else knows
My daughter loved this game and I clearly remember the day that she conquered it! She is 47 years old. She sent me this today.
Always loved this game, and the music was a big reason. Shame I could never get past this zone as a kid though.. missed out on so much of the game.
Oh my.... ecco got an HD upgrade.
Nice touch with the demo running in the background.
That was fuggin mint boys! Truly awesome!
This made me so happy :) That game is as wonderful as it is traumatizing lol
Facts were spoken 💯
Dude! Sounded like if Rodrigo y Gabriela made an Ecco song! My man was turning that guitar into a drum set over there!
YES. Castlevania II and Ecco are two of my favorite soundtracks.

Well done Super Guitar Bros!!!
This game always creeped me out as a kid, but I kept playing it

I'm just thankful people remember this game nevermind doing amazing covers of it
This was downright incredible. Ecco is a work of art and you guys did a phenomenal job with this.
I never even played this game, but yet again, your musical ability transcends your genre. This is beautiful music that speaks to ones soul. Incredible arrangement!
Damn probably my favorite cover of opening and undercave so far.
Never expect people to even know about this game. So underrated. You should do fault zone and one of the other songs from this or Ecco tides of time.
This arrangement is absolutely inspired. It's incredible what you did with this, and how at home it sounds as a guitar duet.
The music in this game is woefully underrated. Thank you for giving it its due with this amazing rendition!
Acoustic guitars sounding so freaking good. 😍
Phenomenal! Can you do the rest of the soundtrack? Would kill to hear Ice Zone or Atlantis..
This is great. If there’s ever an Ecco the Dolphin and Red Dead Redemption crossover, this is the soundtrack.
you guys are amazing.
Immediate goosebumps on the first note of the opening! Love you guys!
This is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I love it!
Beautiful rendition!

Omg I get chills when I hear the opening riffs, this is amazing..
Never realized what kind of epic D&D tavern music The Undercaves theme was
Love to see some appreciation for this beautiful game/artwork. As always, great arrangement and performance!
You guys are awesome. I'd love to hear a golden axe medley or a street's of rage one . Keep up the awesome work.
This is unreal, thank you

I'm a year late, but oh my goodness, yes please!

great you guys, great arrangement great playing great recording

I got that same mysterious vibe from the game too.
I thought it was pretty trippy, exploring open water in games always gave me that vibe back then. Didn't stop me from playing though xD

Fantastic work. You guys rock. Never owned this game but my orthodontist had a Sega in the waiting room. I used to play this every time I went in.
This is beautifully awesome. Thank you guys!

Genesis game, based on the writings of a man who did ketamine and dreamed that the dolphins were aliens who could travel time and stuff.
Brilliant!
So damn good.
Nice!!!!!
Cool cover Bros!
Great game, even better cover!
It’s so hard to find covers or remixes of these songs, especially good covers.
Fantastic! Need to hear some streets of rage tracks from you guys! Slow moon? Keep the groovin? Cheers!
