I'm rewatching again, on the facebook groups for Queen Mary 2 any time people ask about the sheltered balcony, food, drinks and ship tour I always recommend your channel. You two are brilliant and show the ship perfectly! We sail Oct 25th NYC to the UK and cannot wait. Thank you both so much!
Thank you so much Jake, for watching, and for recommending us too. As we type this you've only got less than two weeks until. you NYC - UK Trip, and please do let us know how you get on. Have an amazing time. Linzi & Mark
We really enjoyed the food on QM2 but don’t think we got to try enough of it! Breakfast always filled us up so we never ate anything until dinner. Tell a lie, we did have a sandwich one afternoon. I think the pounds we gained came from the cocktails rather than the food. Next time we must try better and eat more!
We didn't try Britannia for breakfast - split breakfast about 50/50 between room service and Kings Court. Afternoon tea is also served in Kings Court - and room service also has an afternoon tea option.
Loved watching this! On the whole we were impressed with the Britannia Restaurant apart from the odd thing. I had a weird salad with apples in for one course and it didn’t taste of anything. But apart from that we enjoyed what we had. We didn’t try room service breakfast but we had an afternoon tea on the first day in our room. Forgot you could eat in the Golden Lion on a lunchtime, definitely one to try next a time. Take us back! X
I'm sailing on QM2 in about five weeks, and I must say your videos have been so wonderful at getting me excited. Carole's low-key joy just makes me smile! ("Oooh, get that! Do that!") I've been a little bit worried, because I've never done anything as high-end/fancy as this ship, being mostly a NCL/Carnival voyager. But this sailing came up at a price I couldn't pass up, so I went out and bought myself a nicer wardrobe and am now counting down! Thanks for your wonderful, wonderful vids!
Thank you so much Richard, and so sorry for our late reply. Please let us know how you for on with your sailing on QM2, we are sure you will absolutely love it. Linzi & Mark
I LOVE escargots!! I am on the QM2 for a double Transatlantic in less than a month. I was on Queen Victoria this past January to Hamburg (4 nts) and the food was SPECTACULAR. I like smaller portions in the Brittania dining room as I like to snack later and much later w/room service. The room service burger with chips and cheesecake was delicious. I had that twice. haaaah. THANK You for your wonderful video!!! xx Fantastic xx ps: I really LOVE Carole's reaction to food she LOVES. I'm the exact same way!!!!!
We can never get enough Escargot on a cruise, love em. WOW. Double transatlantic crossing is one of our bucket lists on QM2, have an amazing time. LInzi & Mark
You are very welcome Barbara and thank you for taking time to watch it and leave us a comment too. Have a lovely day (even if it's a Monday) Linzi and Mark
@@SuiteNatured ONE year for me - double crossing- Southampton-NYC-Southampton!!! Can't wait!!! Excellent review!!!! But first, Egypt for two weeks Nov 1 and then Jan '24 Queen Victoria Southampton-Hamburg for 4 glorious nights xx
Portion sizes looked OK to me. At the end of a week, I would want to be able to fit into my trousers. The food looks 8/10. Royal Navy cooks, delivering a 'mess dinner', would top this standard. (Recruiting now. Inside-cabins only.) Interesting video. I liked the breeziness of it.
Hello, sweet Suites! QUESTION: While dining in the Britannia on Cunard, do you have an assigned table? I know you do in the Grills, however, can you in the Britannia? Is it an option or can you request to be seated in the section of servers whom you enjoyed? Thank you for all you do!
Hi Miguel, if you have set time dining, then yes they will allocate you an assigned table. If you are on anytime dining then no, you will be allocated a table and area each night. If you are on set time dining, then you can ask the head waiter on embarkation which table you've been allocated and they will show you it, and you can always ask to change it if you don't like the position. No guarantees of a swap, but they do their best. There is also no guarantee of it being the same servers each night, but in our experience, it tends to be. Hope this helps. Linzi & Mark
Oh thank you so much for that! It helps loads! I've certainly cruised before, however not with Cunard and I saw them mention assigned tables in both the Grills but not mention it in Britannia and thought I'd ask those in the know. Cheers and thanks again! @@SuiteNatured

Afternoon tea on a cruise is very wonderful ! Fabulous !!👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🛳💞
We’ve done 4 transatlantic crossings and one Cruise to Spain and Portugal on the Queen Elizabeth. Our late night bad behavior after the show, is to pretend we both didn’t grab a Sausage Roll at Kings Court on the way back to our cabin.
Is there anything better than a late night Sausage Roll CarolAnn? Whilst we've done quite a few transatlantic crossings now, we still haven't done QM2 TA yet, but it is very much on our must do list.
That Cunard Steerage Class dining room looks great and I understand today's Cunard will even allow the dinners into the lifeboats should they strike an iceberg. British progress!
Wonderful review, thank you. Around 7min you're wearing the most STUNNING cape/cloak. Where did you get it from please? I looked on your website but you've not finished that section yet xx
Hi Tim, thank you. All the lovely cakes there were completely free. You didn't need to buy a speciality coffee or such if you just fancied a cake or sandwich. You'll have a fantastic time on QM2 next June. Linzi and Mark
Thanks for this evaluation of the dining possibilities. The menus look really good. It's hard to superimpose Beef Wellington over the cold smoked salmon.- an editorial slipup. And your scrambled eggs ARE a disaster. Very few cooks know how to prepare something as simple as scrambled eggs. One of the tests of a good cook. Maybe also the Afternoon Teas. Give me whipped 'normal' cream if there is no real clotted cream - home made. The bottled stuff is deplorable. With so many food dispensary choices, the closed buffet wouldn't be missed. Looking forward to the afternoon tea review. Those steaks look overcooked and whimpy. ( Small and dull)
Thank you Carolle, glad you enjoyed it. The food overall, as you will have seen, was really good on QM2 and a great choice (apart from the same veg each time in the MDR), but not having proper whipped cream on Cunard😳 Have a lovely day, Linzi and Mark

So next one by chance is tomorrow. Have a lovely evening. Linzi and Mark
We've done two winter transatlantic crossings, and both we great. The very odd slightly rough sea day, but nothing major at all, and QM2 handles rough seas as well as smooth ones. You will love it, so much time to enjoy the ship.
How often does the Menu in the Brittania change? Can you see the menu ahead of time or just while in the restaurant? I like to see what's around before choosing where to eat.
It changes every night John. And you can see the evening menu from right after lunch service or you can ask the restaurant and they will show you it anytime from Breakfast.

Hi Showkat, MSC cruise food differs massively depending on whether you are in Yacht Club or not and also Speciality Dining compared to the main dining room. Our most recent experiences on MSC, in the main dining room the food wasn't great at all, but in Yacht Club it was really great, and the speciality dining was good too. Which cruise line would we rate 10/10 for food. Well to date our highest rated cruise for food was Virgin Voyages which has a 9.5 out of 10 across three different cruises. Our recent celebrity cruise on Apex also had great food, but we've not done that review yet, but suspect it will come in just below Virgin. Hope this helps Linzi & Mark

The only downside was the entertainment..terrible. And not a lot to entertain an adolescent….unless they were happy to mingle with the oldies 🤣 …only been on P&O and Princess previous..think we missed a trick there with Sir Samuels for breakfast…didn’t realise.
Thank you Deborah, and welcome to the channel, we follow all those great vloggers too :) Completely agree with you on the food, service and entertainment. We will have our full cruise review of QM2 coming out in a couple of weeks and entertainment will definately be it's lowest score. It was interesting to see quite a few children on our cruise, as QM2 is not one you'd associate as having a lot of things for children to do, and you are spot on, there is the children's clubs, but compared to lines such as Royal Caribbean or P&O it is very limited. Missing Sir Samuels, just means you'll need to go on again, although it might change a little bit after the refit? Hi Barbara. The cheesecake was horrible because it tasted nothing like New York (style) Cheesecake. It was their own style that was either too dry and didn't taste of cheesecake or slimy. We meant because it she had failed out of NYC before picking us up they could have got some great cheesecake from there.
Oh that is a shame to hear, whilst we are not vegan, we did see some options on the menus and in the buffets, but not to the same degree that Celebrity Apex had, which has huge choices
